As of 21/11/2024, we have indeed seen a horrific Palestinian casualty toll. We have seen the dehumanisation of the Palestinians of Gaza and also the West Bank. We have seen the ugliness of the "West" laid bare, again in the US but the hypocrisy of Europe especially has been shown plainly. I don't feel absolved simply by being Irish any more. I feel utterly disgusted and ashamed as a "European", an idea that has been exposed thoroughly as a fraud. I just want to know how the people who keep making these things happen manage to rise. By what mechanism? Because it does seem mechanistic. I am sick to my stomach with what I have seen. At least Orwell had the opportunity to get shot in the neck.
