"Real-time" in music refers to how music is heard, not played. Reverb, delay, other effects, and pre-recorded music is a way that you wouldn't play in real-time, but it still goes back to how it's heard.

You Make Me Brave Has one of those long builds, feels like forever, with a drop out and another small build back into the chorus. They've done so many great songs. Furious was another fun one to play.

The metronome that challenges me the most is a visual metronome. THAT will show you how bad your internal timing really is especially when looking away and looking back to it. But it makes you a better drummer/musican.

“Real Time” The metronome was invented back in 1815, well before the modern drum set was created. Metronome’s produce real time by breaking it down to how many beats per minute. Musicians need to have real time with and without the click. What do yall think? Choose Kindness™️

Hey, I’ve listened to a number of your video,and really enjoy them. I am a beginner to intermediate drummer at a small church, and have been using Sennheiser HD280 pro headphones, on an unmiced kit. I am looking at transitioning to iems, I have looked at the Shure 215, Etymotic er2se, and the KZ ZS10s. Do you have experience/thoughts on any of these? What do you use? Thanks!

Mine is trust in God. Why? Well a couple years ago at church camp the Trevecca band did it the first service and they changed it the lyrics to “I sought the Lord and he will hear he will answer” instead of “I sought the Lord and he heard and he answered”. Then the last song at the last service they did the normal lyrics. For some reason that just hit me different then all the other songs did that week.

As for the drum hack that was mentioned, if you associate a bpm to a song that you know well, you’ll always remember said tempo. As an example, I’ll always know what 82bpm is because I’ve associated it with raise a hallelujah. Additionally I’ll always know what 117 bpm is because of Billie Jean. Just little hacks to help us in chaotic situations haha. Has this moment happened to you? If so, share the story haha and as always, Choose Kindness!
