A Historic Affair at Pen Ryn Estate - 15th Anniversary of The Friends
We are thrilled to share the success of A Historic Affair at Pen Ryn Estate, which hosted 146 attendees! At our 15 year celebration of The Friends of Washington Crossing Historic Park, we received an official citation from Senator Steven Santarsiero. The evening was a celebration of history, community, and generosity, with proceeds supporting WCHP’s ongoing preservation and educational efforts. The night began with an elegant cocktail hour featuring live entertainment from The Boys of Bucks County musical duo and Everett Pierce on harp alongside captivating living history displays.
Throughout the night, a lively silent auction helped raise funds for our mission. Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner with presentations from Lindsay Craig (Development Committee Chairman), William Haas (Board Vice President), John Godzieba (Board President), and Mark Schweiker (Former Governor of Pennsylvania). Ken Gavin gave a moving first person historical presentation, portraying Colonel John Glover.
Nick Angelakis (Colonial Farms), Bill Haas (Pen Ryn Estate and Spring Mill Manor), Joseph Garvey (Joseph's Premier Catering), and Frank Lyons (Continental Tavern) were honored with Samuel McConkey Plates. These awards were given in gratitude for 15 years of generous hospitality provided to the FWCP in the tradition of the comfort supplied to General Washington and his staff during December 1776.
Relive the highlights by watching our event video, beautifully captured by Alexandru Bruschini of Mediaology Co. Thank you to all who attended and contributed to this unforgettable evening!

Day 1 of asking you to add a musket with realistic reloading Love your game
Just my elderly, half-penny worth, the flint strikes the Frizzen, opening it to reveal the powder in the Frizzen pan, simultaneously sending showers of sparks downward to ignite the powder. The vent, inside the Frizzen pan then receives the flash from the powder, into a charge of powder inside the barrel.

What's absolutely crazy is the 3 times in a minute reload training, this whole video lasts a minute and the loading part was made so smoothly, I can't see how they'd be able to reload 3 times without failing miserably!
You put the musket on the wrong arm. You are supposed to put it on the right arm. You do this because if the Sargent says left face, your musket will smack into the other musket beside you
I still remember how to do this from 4th grade.
He even sounds classic
barry lyndon
Just as the founding fathers intended
The fact we had these weapons just +-100 before we made bolt-action, semi-automatic, and automatic weapons is crazy During the Napolean war
Because of the echo the sound is mostly not understandable. There are filters that would correct that.
