    The closest relative to a crossbow is a gun, not a bow of any sort. Sure it has cams and a cable, but it has a stock, trigger guard, safety, forearm, and whatever scope you can afford. In my opinion if all the crossbow hunters had to cock their crossbow when a deer approaches like the “other” bow hunters I would say have at it! Once upon a time(20 plus years ago)a vertical bow was brought to the market that could be drawn and locked in the full draw position. Fortunately, this design was rejected because it undermined the spirit of archery. Now here we are. I’m all for crossbows for those with injuries & age.

    $100 for 1 Broadhead??!? You ppl ought to be ashamed of yourself price gouging hard working Americans. That is so Bidenomics at its finest. At a point in history where Crokked JB has bankrupted a lot of us, you ppl are charging hard working blue collar deer hunting Americans $100 for 1 damn Broadhead. It should shoot the deer for you. Do better! No way in hell you can’t tell me greed doesn’t play a part in the pricing of these heads.

    Wrong. 100 percent it's time length .The average trophy deer had beam length between 22 and 26 inches.That only adds up to a 8 inch increase in score..same with mass.avg booner has around 35 to 45 total mads.only equals 10 inches to score.You need lots of tines and time length..

    Technically, the landowners are not selling wild game. They are selling access to their private property. That's how they get around the law anyway. That's why you can argue in court that they can't fine you for the "value" of the deer. It has no value because it's illegal to sell wild game.

    I honestly have no problem with crossbow hunting it’s definitely more advantageous but I still believe that it’s close enough to archery where you’re splitting hairs about it. I hunt with a compound bow strictly and the crossbow was the introduction to hunting with a compound. I enjoy the challenges that it presented me. I still take my wife hunting with a crossbow and we still hunt the same as if I had my compound just don’t take those far shots.

    You know what it really is…you can’t possibly believe that someone would enjoy hunting different than you so you want laws made that makes it illegal…this is just jealousy and being self absorbed relabeled and rebranded as “I am more pure and righteous than you because I have picked the harder way” it’s like legalism in church that shifts right into the hunting industry. By what standard of righteousness are you forcing everyone into? Oh that’s right it’s just hunting…maybe let’s hunt as we please and not judge each other, give each other grace and love each other. The way so many talking heads in the hunting industry talk it’s as if they talked to Jesus himself and found out the most righteous way to hunt and now everyone else should do what they do. So much self righteousness operating from self imposed standards.

  • @seanbyham7838
    @seanbyham7838 День тому

    Why don’t you hunt with a primitive bow you made yourself like I do? Bet you hunt with a compound that practically shoots itself. This has nothing to do with ethics. We live in America. Let men do as they please. Manage the deer as best as we can and let people have more freedom in how they want to hunt. I don’t pitch a fit because people don’t choose to hunt the hard way like me and cry and whine about how primitive hunting doesn’t get an extra long or separate season because it’s so hard. I understand limitations on firearm seasons but everything else we need to let it go and let people get out in the woods to enjoy hunting. If a crossbow being legal gets you out and you kill a big buck at 60 yards with a range finding scope good for you, I won’t get jealous, I will be happy for you and I will be just as excited killing a button buck at 5 yards with my Osage bow I built myself. Everyone has different things they enjoy about hunting and we need to stop wanting everyone to hunt like we hunt because it’s “fair chase”…hogwash.

Now compound hunters are saying the same thing about crossbow hunters. Next it will be crossbow hunters complaining about pneumatic bows. What it boils down to is the people who like to do it the old school way, respective to their time period, don’t like being crowded by people who do it the new way

      @@sicklogick crossbows aren’t legal in a lot of places, my point is that if they made all of what I mentioned legal tomorrow you would think differently than “hunt your hunt don’t worry about others” it’s all a shared resource and we limit efficiency so there is enough to go around. Crossbows let a lot more people take a bigger percentage of that resource which may be warranted in some places but let’s not act like it’s the same as bow hunting.

      I’m glad you get the opportunity to hunt because of a crossbow, your deer population must be able to sustain that since your state allows it, BUT the original intent of bow season was to create a low impact long season for the guy who can practice. You don’t practice you don’t hunt or you hunt anyways and you keep your shots in 5-10yards. The idea was never for every bow hunter to kill a deer regardless of effort put into it. Now white tail populations are doing so well anymore it’s kind of a moot point.

    The way Don has been managing his bucks is the same way as I have done it for 25+ years. I have always done my best to kill the bad 3 and 4 year old bucks every season. Either I have done it myself when I have no target bucks of quality I hunt that season or I have invited in other hunters to hunt and kill those bucks if they lived in areas I didn't hunt. Often I have taken youth hunters with me for them to kill those inferior bucks. These bucks are HUGE for those youth hunters and they are extremely happy over shooting those bucks and their families are very happy for that and the meat. It is VERY rewarding to learn a youth to become a good and ethical hunter and see their excitement and joy over the hunts. This for sure has an effect on the quality of bucks, but the problem is that 50% of the antler genes come from the does and there is no way to tell what doe that carries good antler genes, so you will always get rather many bucks that have poor antler genes born. So, you will always have to deal with them if you want bucks with the best potential and antler growth to stay on the property you hunt. The worst you can do, is to let these "trash" bucks live on your property as they will breed plenty of does during the years they live and since most hunters let them walk, they often die of old age and often they have bred way more does during their lifetime than the top trophy bucks have. It is totally insane in my opinion to let these "trash" bucks live on the property year after year. The ones having the lease together with Christian better get together and have a hard talk. If they want the ability to hunt bucks with high scoring antlers year after year, they MUST start to deal with all the "trash" bucks living on the lease. Either they need to kill them themselves or they need to invite other hunters to come and hunt and hopefully kill those "trash" bucks. Letting these "trash" bucks live is extremely ignorant and shows a total lack of knowledge about deer.

      "put in the work"?? is sitting in a tree, waiting to ambush a deer, really work? that's waiting, not hunting. really putting in the work, is still-hunting through the woods, tracking deer, at eye-to-eye level. see? where's it end? instead of hunters bitching at hunters, just enjoy what you choose to do, and let others do what they choose. if it's legal, then everyone should zip-it. don't do the ANTIs work for them.
