De Valera was no more than a bigoted coward, that used his citizenship of another country to take over the reigns in Ireland, take that country into an economic, religious dystopia. He knew what Collins had to do at that time. Collins, I’m sure, also knew he’d been made the patsy on De Valera’s behalf. A disgrace of a man.
Talker, just a talker but here he hasn’t quite sold his soul yet
His mother is from Kansas Boom Psyop
Americans are so thick
was siskel ALWAYS wrong? cause it seems like he was always wrong.
Yes ill be 49 and always watched this show on what Saturday afternoons? But i have been re-watching them and Siskel has been so wrong countless times, i think hes the worst movie critic ever, he hated all the classics 😅
Always thought Jayz was a great rapper I was a young girl at like 12 listening to him junior mafia THE NOTORIOUS BIG. …say what you want thus was a great interview I enjoyed it
A great man looked after everybody
Reynolds locked out labour ministers of their office funny how fine gael labour and democratic left was a good government
Love the Way Olivia oleate was a fine gael
Vincent Browne, the best Political journalist and interviewer in Ireland of all time, period.
Such an intelligent, articulate individual this Jay-Z.
About a snitch lol bozo
Aliens was supposed to be suspenseful. The characters were supposed to be in peril all the time. It was a science fiction thriller. Siskel missed the point entirely.
Develera Irish traitor I believe he ordered Collins death....not an Irish hero ran away in a dress and a wig
That fella caused disastrous Civil war then Economic war 1930s Kept country backward population at Lowest since 1700s time he finished
@Gadaí what documentary is this from?
This is an amazing documentary series. Thanks for uploading it! It's one of the best presentations of Irish history out there.
All debate is gone now
Back in the day we really used to follow the Siskel and Ebert reviews to know what movies were worth seeing. Those guys got going with their show(s) about the time Jaws came out, and were quite famous by the time Star Wars hit. If they both gave thumbs up, you were GOING TO LIKE the movie. This was one time where they really missed the boat. This sequel was less gory than the first movie, and this was before the snuff porn films like Hostel, Saw, etc came out where suffering was the star of the show, so I guess these guys didn't know how lucky they were to be watching James Cameron make a classic movie.
Wow. Siskel really missed the boat on this one..
The original two faced liar...
so cringeworthy now especially when Clark starts eating dog food and reacts like its nothing and honestly? you can blame Reeve who was given creative control at this point. not a good idea just like almost everything else in III 🙄
A very close election. At the time I was very annoyed with FG over Northern Ireland, but in hindsight, some progress was made with the Framework Document, that influenced the later content of the Good Friday Agreement. I was only a teenager at the time and didn't fully understand that compromise was needed.
My mother met him when he was PM and stated “ that man is too nice to be PM” . She meant it as a compliment.
Obama seems a whole lot honest here. Did Washington change him? That would be an interesting debate
Getting elected changed him
One of the great Siskel-gaffes, comparable with the one of Ebert about Die Hard. Almost all the action is in the last 45 minutes of a two and a half hour movie. How you can call that "overkill" is beyond me.
Fatboy roger wasn't having it at 6:08-6:10.
Yet another movie they got totally wrong One of the greatest sci-fi movies of the.... HELL, ever. One of the greatest sci-fi movies EVER MADE. All-time.
I remember this. At the time, 39% for FF was seen as a disaster. Now 20% is seen as an okay result for them. I think both Reynolds and Bruton contributed to what eventually ended up as the peace agreement under Bertie Ahern in 1998. The Downing Street Declaration and the Framework Document in particular. Even so, at the time there were some differences in approach to Northern Ireland between FF and FG. FG wanted to compromise more with the Unionists, which was criticised by FF. But in 1998,. the next FF leader did compromise with the Unionists. And realistically that was necessary. But I have some criticisms of Bruton because for years he supported keeping SF out of talks before decommissioning, and then the IRA ceasefire broke down in 1994.
Been looking for this for ages! Thanks for the upload!
Unneedlessly??
Jay's a nervous wreck !
John Gormley was such a spoofer....when going got tough he jumped ship. An absolute coward that stood for nothing.
Only the West could hail a man who cheats on his wife as a man of decency and integrity.
A man of decency and integrity doesn't cheat on his wife. IMO, if you have an affair, you're a scumbag.
Love Godfather III, haters be gone!
Dev pla ned in cork .. lets be real
What is very clear , is that all of these politicians are the whipping boys of the EU. They have systematically and relentlessly betrayed the Irish not only as a Nation but as a people ; our very way of life , our beliefs , our heritage , our culture - all was discarded to succour at the feet of the EU. The Treason Act 1939 upon conviction and proof was death! Yet somehow , theses spinless bastards in Dail Eireann , perhaps foreseeing what they would go on to do , had it removed. Otherwise , the gallows and hangman would be very busy. List bu by no means definitive of people who would have been lead to the gallows include Michael Martin , Pat Rabbitte , Enda Kenny , Simon Coveney , Leo Varadkar , Michael D. Higgins , and a whole host of other serpents. Our beautiful country so hard fought for given away and subjected to the Kalergi Plan of complete replacement by 2050! It is always darkest before the dawn.
fkn legend
You trying to tell me it takes almost three hours of film to tell the life story of the Scottish gnome who became UK PM?????
Sell outs for power
This party is the ruin of this nation
Diddy
You have to love how afraid most of the politicians were on the panel because they could not predict Vincent's questions. Nowadays all the politicians are very confident on these panels especially if its an RTE programme because they know whats going to be asked by the so called "journalists".
@33:50 a not too fussy man describing Thatcher as a pretty young thing...The mind boggles.
I miss Vincent Brown and his uncanny ability to expose the the bull**it
Browne was utterly useless as an interviewer. Just harangued people, shouted and roared like a jackass. Comedy for imbeciles No interest in real answers.
Fitzgerald didn't know what Charlie was at he was innocent looking back at it.
The fact he used irish public money to buy arms for the provisional IRA, who murdered a couple of thousand people, and this didn't end his career, tells us something about the people of the republic and their love of barbarity. The fact he was so clearly corrupt and this was accepted as well shows us what a corrupt country Ireland was at the time.
Both very capable men. Fitzgerald was actually courageous at that time taking measures in a coalition government with labour to stop the bleeding while investing in education and the future. It wasn’t known at that time that cutting certain taxes unleashed growth for a time at least. Now Haughy didn’t know that either, but he had a notion I suspect and although unquestionably the cause of most of the problems 1977 to 1981 in spending like Marxists he in the end was able to add his unique ambition to the betterment of Ireland. Would have been a great finance minister u dear a garret the good Fitzgerald government.
