They've stuck this behind a paywall...How shitty, Can't even try it!
Impressive!!!
Amazing pieces
can you tell me what materials you ised to make this please? i was trying to figure it out in the comments but all the replies were vague
How do you know there's no runout in that collet holder ? Dail in the pocket like you should , and put a coaxel in the chuck while your at it
Because the spindle and Live tool are spinning at the same speed it doesn't matter.
Очень круто!
Привет , по русски разговариваете ?
I have the same Haas st20y and the same sandvik capto live tool but when I try to mill similar counterbores with c-axis, very unpleasant vibrations start to appear. Sometimes playing with RPMs helps. What are RPM of the live tool?
You might want to check the c axis drive gear engagement. Also, make id make sure it is actually getting grease.
Physics! :D
So Cool! What machine is that? Did you take out the auger? Did you develop the washdown system?
Haas VF4. Yeah took the auger out and built the conveyor and washdown.
@@ErnestDuarte I have spent so much time moving chips is silly. Your system seems legit. How long have you had it?
@@3073Sean About 14 months now. Haven't done anything chip related since. Just make parts. I changed brands of coolant about 4 months ago didn't even have to clean the sump. You can check out the polished unit @ swarf-unlimited.com .
Beautiful part
Big daishowa makes a centering tool. Super useful for centering tools.
Th correct way to do this is with a coax indicator clamped in the chuck and sweep the inside of a 1.5” tool holder on tool 1
Why not a lang plate?
what kind of mesh did you use? i work on a umc-1000 and i'd like to upgrade the filtering.
Heck yeah that whole setup they have on any machines with conveyors are a pain. Here is a link to the one you would need for the UMC-1000. www.swarf-unlimited.com/product/xl-sump-filter-screen-stainless-steel-95-gal/
How are you liking the machine? Is this your first horizontal? I'm in the market for a HMC and considering a used GE460.
Thing is sweet . Personally my first one I've bought.
What about indicator sag due to rotating your indicator 180. I think you would be better off using the paper trick here
Haha 😂 yeah paper is definitely better. My bad.
What is this paper trick u speak of
What is this geniusness? I think I might need one. Where to find one?
Haha 🤣 thanks bro. It's been a long time coming. Do you have a Haas?
@@ErnestDuarte Yes, VM-3
@@3073Sean Nice man! Shoot me an email it's in my about section. We can get in touch and I'll let you know what it's all about.
This is awesome
Thanks 👍
Beautiful machine!
I can't even imagine the carnage if that thing crashed at full rapid lol
Ese es un HAAS qué tal jalan ?
Can you use mpg hand wheel to controller turret in maintenance mode like fanuc? Or what's the procedure. Trying to fix a lathe that had been crashed.
Yeah you can. On most Haas lathes once they get crashed you have to realign the turret to the spindle. If you crashed it hard enough you can even move the spindle. Once you find centerline you have to update setting in user settings. On the newer NCG lathes you have to get a USB Key to update X&Y offsets in the factory parameters if you want everything to read 0.
What coordinates do you take to score in Y? or how to adjust Y?
why so slow?
Looks great. What laser are you using?
It's a Galvo 50w Raycus Fiber Laser.
Why does your spindle is turning? Locking issues?
Looks great! Are these for sale?
They are.
So this whole ordeal is just to avoid "brinelling the bearings"? Not even 100 strokes per minute? Ig keyway shapers aren't going anywhere anytime soon...
Not sure what your comment means are you asking a question or trying to make some point? @sketch1994
@@ErnestDuarte Sorry if it came off smug but HAAS themselves released a video explaining how it is safe to index a shaping tool directly in the spindle and they even include broaching/shaping program templates. With that in mind you have to admit that it takes quite the fearmongering to sell these. Also I am pretty sure they try to pass all shaping tools as "broaching tools" (which is either an actual open feature lengthwise broach or at the very least a rotary broach simulating multiple broaches being driven down one after the other) when meant to go on a CNC, just to get rid of the stigma of "shapers making anything but money" which was only made worse by how scary they look when running fast PS: I am sure you already know how severely this is lacking compared to driven tool lathe shaping units that get really high SPM and even retract the tool on the return stroke...So I guess I was making a point
@@Sketch1994 Yeah. We have done thousands of those parts and we did have a spindle bearing fail so I'd take that with a gain of salt. Also that is a .530" broach taking .005" so idk. I don't really care but we can tool change that thing I sleep better at night.
@@ErnestDuartewill this broaching tool make the key way stay in the same position every time with like a timed sprocket even with tool changes?
Can you tool change this broaching tool? Also how accurate is a fixed position keyway over a span of time?
IS THIS CERAMIC?
Carbide
Woow que tiempo se tardo en máquinar esa pieza?
To program and machine the main part and components about 4-5 hours.
@@ErnestDuarte gracias saludos
which vacuum did you use? does it seperate chips from liquids?
I was just using a swarf vac, and it does separate the swarf from the coolant. When my swarf vac gets full of coolant I just put it into the sump later.
What was that like to deburr
There is nothing to deburr.
2:11 top right didnt drill through^^
Lol r u looking for a qc job!
what do you mean by "TSC Loadup"?
@@lathenmill huh? is this Haas specific?
Are those lowers? Pretty cool.
Lowers don't need 1 inch hole in them, usually the uppers do.😁
Is this something you bought or are making? Looks better than what comes with the machines that's for sure
It's something I make, and it does work good have not cleaned my sump in a year.
I'm scared watching this haha
Do y'all have a product line or are you a job shop? Looks like a nice machine
Product line. We were a job shop in the past.
What material is this? How many flutes is that endmill? And whats the speeds/feeds and step over?
Subscribed to Rudy Giuliani and Peterson lol when will dumbass rubes learn?
I will start my cnc business in belgium but i don't know how you get orders for parts? How do you get customers
We have a partner in Germany I will speak with him tonight and see what we can do. What machine are you going with?
@@ErnestDuarte I will finish my studies first, which will be done in July next year. when they are done I will look for partners who want to sponsor me and/or support me in setting up my company. if that is successful I want to start with cheap machines but I have no idea yet which brand, as soon as the company runs well I want to switch to DMG mori. but these are all plans for later. which I want to think about now.
I love haas cnc machines

Sorry forgot keyboards make you an expert. My mistake keep up the good work Chad!
...how do?
G00 goes so fast!
Capto live tooling is the best. Recently got my capto c4 driven tools both axial and radial from Benz. They produce those as well as Sandvik but price is less. The only thing I am not sure of is what torque to use when tightening. It says on the tool 40 nm max but it seems too much. What torque do you apply?
I tighten the 8mm hex ones to 40NM and the 10MM Hex to 50NM. If it's not a big tool with heavy cuts I tighten with a T-Handle Hex wench as tight as I can Probably 30-35NM. Lol
I think we're missing some important bits and pieces here.....
