    Accutane made my HS so much worse. It made me realize any medication that dries out my skin will make HS worse for me. Because I was on Glycopyrrolate for excess sweating before I got my HS diagnosis in June 2022. Been dealing with the aftermath ever since.

    2024- Another bad thing is all the chemicals in our food organic or not…or not that I can even afford to eat at all. 56 yr old female had this 40 years my dad is 76 has had it 60 years and 2 of my siblings have had it over 30 years. Life kind of sucks for us but we laugh sometimes. I’m finding there is very little nutrients in our food now days.

    I have recently been told I have HS. I am 59 yrs old. I am questioning the diagnosis. I have only one lesion. This lesion never goes away. It will flair up and rupture every couple of months. It is rather small compaired to the pictures and things I find on the internet. Does this sound like an acurate diagnosis?

    • @theahsid
      @theahsid 3 дні тому

      The interesting thing about HS is that is shows up in different stages. Some can experience one lesion that doesn't close and others have multiple sites affected and the draining and scarring never ends. I would definitely get a second opinion and trust your gut. It never hurts to get a second opinion.

    Wow, making the excess sweating stop within 2 days was so much more than I expected, I went with what I talked about last week and after the first day or so I was very surprised to start feeling much more comfortable and dry! I went ahead and go'ogled the latest by Cynthia Yulesin and after 72 hours I now sweat like a “normal” person lol

  • @KevinHenk-sf4re
    @KevinHenk-sf4re 10 місяців тому

    Well, watching how the puddles of sweat just dried up within 48 hours was so satisfying, I used what I read about the other day. Although it actually took about 72 hours for my sweating to normalize, I went ahead and go'ogled the latest by Cynthia Yulesin and I don’t have to change clothes 2 times a day.

    • @theahsid
      @theahsid 3 дні тому

      This is a great question! While it’s possible for HS to appear in other areas of the body, not everyone experiences this, it varies from patient to patient. Early intervention can be beneficial and may help manage symptoms, though outcomes can differ for each individual.

    Thank you so much for this video. It was very informative and it always makes me feel less alone when I learn there are others looking to treat and help with HS ❤ For me, having laser hair removal many years ago helped tremendously. In areas where I had enough diode laser that the hair is completely gone, the problem went away. In areas that still have hair, I still have HS but not as severe as before. My HS is also absolutely triggered by certain foods such as carbs, dairy, yeast, and potatoes. I work in healthcare in a setting with no AC and since I’m in scrubs every day, the heat, sweat and friction definitely triggers my HS. Topical therapies that help are mandelic acid chemical peels and benzoyl peroxide. Unfortunately benzoyl peroxide significantly darkens my groin and perineum area (I am fair skinned) so it makes me insecure during intimacy as much as the lesions do. Currently trying dairy free keto/carnivore diet again since in the past I have had remission on this diet. I will also get more laser hair removal. Thank you again for your great work and help! 🙏🏻

    I wish doctors would talk about food and HS. Food triggers are so unique to everyone but food affects everything especially disease. these are the studies we need aside from the next biologic

      Amen! SOY, nightshades, and caffeine seem to be triggers for me, in addition to the "standard" triggers of sugar and refined carbs.

    • @theahsid
      @theahsid 3 дні тому

      You’re absolutely right, food and its connection to HS deserve more attention. While triggers can vary greatly from person to person, the role of diet in managing inflammation and overall health is undeniable. It would be amazing to see more research focused on how nutrition impacts HS and how individualized approaches could help patients. Biologics are important for many people, but understanding lifestyle factors, like food, could empower patients to take a more holistic approach to managing their condition in conjunction with taking a biologic. Your perspective highlights such an important area that deserves further exploration. 💛

      @theahsid 3 дні тому

      It can definitely feel surprising to learn how common HS is, especially when it’s not something that’s openly talked about. Despite affecting around 1% of the population, awareness about HS is still low, which is why many people haven’t heard of it or met others who have it. You’re not alone in feeling this way, it’s a condition that often goes undiagnosed or misunderstood. The more we share and raise awareness, the easier it will be for others to recognize they’re not alone either. If you ever want to connect with others or learn more, there are great communities out there that can help, including ours! 😊
