Great
Thank you!
Nice chord progression
Thanks!
How about major and minor key interchange or borrowing on relative key? I hope to see a good teacher explaining these.
Great question! I typically do not think of music in the context of borrowing chords from other keys. My brain just struggles to process what I am playing like that. Since there are only 7 diatonic notes in a major scale there are only 5 non-diatonic notes. So its easier for me to think of chords built from non-diatonic chords as "flat 6" or "sharp 4" for instance. If the chord is built of of a diatonic note but the chord is not diatonic for I would just call it a "minor 4" or a "half diminished 2" if that makes sense. Lastly, if I am playing secondary dominants or major/minor 2-5-1 my focus is not the key but the target chord regardless of the key. I can approach an E minor that same int the key of C as I do in the key for G or D. So the target chord is usually my focus!
Boss, you are good and unique
Thank you!
How to use this tastefully without altering the melody structure on top and making it palatable for the audience?
Great question. Hopefully I can do a video on this soon. The basic concept though is that you keep the melody note on top and you put some of the other notes beneath the melody. Sometimes, you have to omit notes.
Honestly i suffered wity the issue of passing chords please sir do more tutorials on passing chords
I plan to do more soon!
This guys is TALENTED
I'm getting there ;) Thanks!
🎉
You make it so easy to understand🎉
Thank you!
Mostly appreciated man, helped out a lot
No problem ;)
I’m new to your videos I really enjoyed this one lots of good information nicely paced . I did find the keyboard voicing you used a little hard to hear but good video I look forward to seeing your others 😎
Glad it was helpful! Yeah I ended up changing the sound for future videos!
I got easily bro. Thanks. I subbed rightaway
Thanks for the sub! Glad to help
As a novice player your videos have been helping me unlock so many more possibilities with my playing! I wanted to ask if there's a way to systematically work your way up from simple 1-3-5 esque voicings to inversions, add9/add2's and such? Is there anything I should prioritize first?
Glad to help! Great question. Yes, please start with basic inversions of 1-3-5 triads. 1st, 2nd and 3rd inversion before trying to add to the chords. It will be confusing to try to mimic or learn advanced chords that use 7,9,11 and 13s, especially when inverted, without the basics. I think add9/add2 is a good place to start, but I would recommend going up in sequential order. 7,9,11 then 13! Hopefully that makes sense. Feel free to ask any other questions.
@@LimitlessKeysPiano sounds good, thank you so much for answering. I'm excited to work on everything you mentioned! I think the biggest challenge I'm gonna face is not breaking off into something else you've done a video on 😆You're really out here feeding us bro
@@DJLott-h9t No problem! Yes take your time! Maybe in the future I will offer lessons!
❤Thus great. Keep it up sir.
Thank you!
Sounds like we about to make a fire Christmas album🔥🔥

How many years have you been playing?
Hmmm I have been playing for "13 years" but at least 9 of them have been wasted. I didn't really take it seriously. Some years I barely touched my keyboard. It's only been over the past 4 years that I have really been practicing consistently. I would say 1-2 years worth of basics + 4 years really going in, would be a good metric. So I think one could get here in 5-6 years if they really were intentionally.
Great instruction and content! Thanks for making this video in an easy to follow format for those that are new to passing chords, as well as variations and concepts for more experienced players as well! This is exactly the type of lesson I’ve been looking for, thank you!
Thank you! Glad to help :)
Yo this vid really helped me out man. I hope you keep making these
Glad to help! More to come!
Great explanation, just subbed. Looking forward to checking out your other stuff!
Thank you! Yes feel free to check out my other videos!
Bro are you modulating😭
Kind of... but kind of not! The only modulation was at the beginning! I was in B minor. But the once I get to the B minor chord, the rest is just 2-5-1 to the diatonic chord ls in C major! Watch the video on my page!
Great
Thank you!
I need your lesson

Thanks a lot I have to sit down and understand it. 😅
Yes sir! Take the time to digest it. When you understand it well change your playing 🙏🏾
@@LimitlessKeysPiano ok sir and I am happy you explained it in on my key God bless you sir
I really don't know what, and I can't wait to see the part two of this video. Your explanation is absolutely comprehensive, thanks Dude.
Appreciate it a lot! No problem, my pleasure!
Dude, I rarely ever like videos, or leave comments. Honestly, I know you're a small channel, but I've been looking for someone to explain secondary dominance to me for the past year or so, and between TikTok and Google, I've had no help until this video. I appreciate it a lot and if you keep producing quality, helpful, and SIMPLY EXPLAINED content your future is bright.
Appreciate the comment 🙏🏾 Glad I was able to help! Thanks
Bro thats fire 🔥
Thank you!
I don't know why I'm just seeing your channel but this is so dope!! Please keep these videos coming!!!
Yes yes, there is plenty more to come! Thank you!
Bro great video
Appreciate it!
we need part 2 fam !
Yes part 2 will be coming!
1:00 😂😂😂😂
Thanks, I laugh at my own editing as well!
please do it on F# sharp key please please please please thank you ❤❤
Hey man! Thanks for watching. Sorry I won't break this down in specific keys because then I would have to do every that someone asks. If you understand the concept then its simple to apply to any key. In F# your 2 chord is Ab/G# minor, the 2nd dominant is Eb. The substitution is Eb7/G. Run through this process with all the chords and you will be good! I would recommend you taking the time to understand and implement it yourself rather than depending on me or other channels to teach you. The more dependent you become on us, the more it will hurt your growth!
Thanks!
No problem! Glad to help!
Nice...appreciate the concept show the diatonic structure in the dorian scale with passing chords...Thank U!
Thanks for watching! Can you explain the dorian thing to me though, I am not to versed in modes.
Please, I await your Part 2,3, etc as you have promised and mentioned a lot in this part 1 to explain more on.. Thanks
Yes! Part 2 and 3 will be coming out! Stay tuned, it will be great!
This is great
Thank you sir!
