Always relying on photo's to tell the story....until now. Starting with Morocco and just wanting to share with my kids in the hope that they'll better understand why I'm away for a month at a time.
I've toured solo by motorcycle since 2016. Having taken my test in my early 20's with the intention some day to ride. Fast forward 30 years and I take a refresher day, buy a bike of ebay (BMW GS1200), load her up with a tent, head over the channel and ride up to Norway (Lofotens). From that first day I've been hooked and travelled extensively (time allowing) through Europe, taking in Spain, Portugal, Pyrenees, Montenegro, Bosnia, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, France, Alps, Austria, Morocco ... and more

Bloody great content mate! Looking forward to the next one 👌
Thanks for taking the time ... really appreciate it👍
The guy with the helmet wanted to take a picture with you and the bike.
Thanks and Yes, for sure.. it just didn't feel right to accept the offer having just declined the services of the other guide. I'll be back to Fez to see it properly and, no doubt, will need a bit of help doing just that 👍
@@EpicADV I think he wanted the picture for himself. He wasn't trying to sell you anything.
Nice, proper off piste, what mileage did you cover that day, don't suppose you've got the gpx for the route? (I know you said you had the Phone stolen)
Great route for sure. No gpx sorry but it's route MS12 - Black Rock Desert from Chris Scott's Overland Morocco book if that helps. I didn't clock it but he reckons it's 138km ...I'm not going to argue👍
You had a cold refreshing drink at that station, but your bike was parked in the sun. Didn’t it feel very hot afterwards?🤭 very nice video👍😎
Appreciated thanks ...and yes you're right ...she deserves better 👍
Awesome! Congrats that you made it! I wanted to go from foum zguid to m‘hamid and ended 60 km too far south…
So easily done ... The ones you'll never forget 👍
Great trip, really good video.
Thanks .. really appreciate it 👍
Good. Man of few words & doesn't giggle!😊
Thanks for watching...really appreciated ... Enough said 👍
I love it ❤, can you please share with me this itinerary?
Hi, It's the R704 from Agoudal to Dades 👍
Great epic trip. Another request to share your routes if possible? Inspirational stuff. 👍
Thanks for watching ..really appreciate it. Unfortunately I had my phone and, with it, my .gpx files stolen by some scumbag in Bilbao on my last evening before getting the ferry back to the UK... Gutted!
Another great video and I feel even more desperate after twenty years of wanting to visit after watching your video, just not got no mates who want to do the same!!!!
Thanks for watching .. Sounds familiar ...although there are some real bonuses doing this stuff solo. Meeting people you wouldn't otherwise meet is one 👍
Thanks for your video, just amazing, i plan to make nearly the same trip in May, do you mind sharing some of your GPX file ?
And thanks for taking the time ... Unfortunately I had my phone, complete with SD card holding the .gpx files, stolen in Bilbao. Gutting as some guys very kindly gave them to me on the ferry over from the UK....they made a big difference for sure. That said, speaking to locals proved invaluable (as always) and made for some unbelievable days. TBH the good stuff is pretty much 'around every corner' in Morocco. Sorry I can't help more 👍
Hi, in September I will be in Morocco and I would like to do the route you did after the Dades gorges. Could you give me some instructions on how to find the trail? many thanks and good luck. 👏👏👏
Hi, So the route into Dades was the R704 from Agoudal. The route after Todra Gorge I don't think has a reference. That said, if you zoom in on Google maps you can find it heading left, just as you leave Tamtetoucht and head back towards the R704. Hope you find them ...And enjoy!👍
@@EpicADV Thank you so much for this information. I will continue to follow you on your channel for other adventures. thanks again and good luck 🤙
Bonne chance
You're in for a real treat ...enjoy and ride safe!👍

Was also used in SAS rogue heroes!!
Super video! Only 10 days till we depart ourselves for the same place!!
Thanks...appreciated.Only regret is that I didn't spend longer there to soak it all in .... A gem for sure ... Enjoy!
Amazing video, being a rider myself, I felt like I was the one on the bike. Enjoy it.
What's up with those random trees. How can they survive is such conditions? The only spot of shade as far as the eye can see!
There is some tree species well adapted to those arid areas ,acacia argan and ziziphus used to be well spread there ,human activity led to its extinction from that region
Great share ..thanks! 👍
Like MotoMundoBr 🏍️🌏🇧🇷
Did this route with 6 others on xt yamaha 250 hired in marrakesh at m2r An amazing country March 12th 2024
Sure is ... thanks for taking the time 👍
Hello!!! Do you have more informations about your track? Maybe gpx files or something like that? Thx a lot
Sorry no. Had my phone and files stolen on the way back in Bilbao 😡
Much enjoying your videos. Considered and engaging. Thank you!
That's very kind .. Morocco does all the heavy lifting for sure. Thanks for watching and taking the time .. appreciated 👍
Loving your videos, I am off to Morocco on 7th April. I am using Garmin Basecamp to plot and then transfer for my Garmin Montana. However the software is a pain and my routes are still not complete. What did you use to create your routes.
I was unbelievably lucky and two very generous guys from Wales kindly gave me their .gpx files. Which I dumped into OSMand ( Open street maps) ... Worked a treat... Also, spoke to locals at every opportunity ...always very generous with their knowledge and a great source of ideas. Sadly had my mobile nicked .. lost the lot😡... Note to self ...back up....back up....back up!!
Awesome!
Cheers!!👍
Wowwww tres beau pays
Sure is ...and some!
Nice Clip! We was 2023 during the major earthquake in Morocco...
Tragic and traumatic...I can't begin to imagine
Отличная подача видео, спасибо, получил удовольствие. Удачи на дорогах Планеты!
Thanks, really appreciate it👍
I am in the Dades right now on a World Raid. Solo adventure 125km off road today😎😎🇲🇦🇲🇦
Nice work..enjoy!👍
Hello✋👀👍
Hey👍
Another great video, love the bike, looks really good.
Thanks.. appreciated 👍
Great travelogue. Sounds like you’re really enjoying the experience with some added humour 😊. When not commentating are you listening to podcasts/ music?….and what are the advantages of wearing your riding goggles 🥽?
Thanks for taking the time, glad you've enjoyed. Yeah, I listen to music, audiobooks and podcasts etc depending on the mood but usually only when I'm banging out the miles. On the trails I like to hear what the bikes doing👍
Better airflow and seal against dust with goggles. Can still use the visor with the goggles in situ (great on the motorway / rain) so super versatile. Goggles (100%) are photochromic too so auto adjust depending on light levels - total game changer👍
Excellent, nice and relaxed do drama stunning senery.
nice video, I will propose a similar format on my channel too
Great videos really liked them, Would you mind sharing what Satnav you are using
Hey, I just run Open Street Maps (OSMand) on an android phone (Doogee s61 Pro - Semi rugged) ... ok so far👍
Excellent! Thank you for sharing 😀👍
Appreciated thanks!
Du bon travail, bravo 🎉🎉
Keep up the good work champion. I'm planning same trip Morocco to South Africa soon with T700 journey begins from Manchester,
Now that's what you call a trip... and some!! Have an amazing time. Ride safe 👍
You are living my dream ❤
Great series of videos, as I say we’re off there in a few weeks, I’ll also be filming as usual lol, but your sound seems clearer than mine…what equipment are ya using if you don’t mind, I use a GoPro 9 and Rode mic Thanks again
Thanks for taking the time...appreciated. TBH I wasn't planning on doing loads of videoing so just threw it together last minute (not recommended) It's a really basic set-up... GoPro 7 and cheapo mic from Amazon - Drift Innovation - £18 and rubbish. Had to spend way too much time trying to clean-up the sound (still rubbish). Whatever you do will be way better for sure 👍
Great vid, we’re off to agoudal ourselves next month and riding the R704, we’re not mega off road gods, so hope that road is kind to us
It will be and you'll have an amazing trip ... enjoy! ... and thanks for watching👍
Been there with my tiger 1200.. mesmorizing
Really enjoying the series it captures the landscape well. Would like to see the food you’re eating- what’s a typical Moroccan breakfast like? Is cannabis all around there as it seems?….. AND did you participate?
Thanks, really appreciate it. I'll try and include some in the coming vids. Food varies a lot but is typically really good. I travel on a pretty tight budget but that goes along way in Morocco. As a minimum it's jam, bread, fruit and mint tea, right up to pancakes, eggs, bread, honey, yoghurt, fruit, coffee, juice. And cannabis is mainly seen in the North (Rif Mountains - Chefchaouen etc) ..... there's legal production too, for Medicinal/industrial purposes..... and No, other than the unavoidable, it's really not my thing✌️
Great travelogue there brother…. I’m considering riding from Bilbao / Santander down to southern Spain- what route did you take?
Ahh so much choice. Guess it depends how much time you want to take getting South. If you're heading into Santander then you're duty bound to go via the Picos. If it's a quick dash South then I go via Burgos, Valladolid, Salamanca, Caceres, Seville. If you have time then a more scenic route may be Burgos, Avilla, Cuevas del Valle, Guadalupe, Galizuela, Cazalla de la Sierra, Ronda. Enjoy!
@@EpicADV Thank you Sir…. Great content in your travels. Did you solve the uri Geller issue!?
Yup, quick tug .... back to factory spec!!👍
In terms of practicality what type of insurance/ break down cover do you need? And are you mechanically minded?
Hi, for Morocco, Insurance (3rd Party) was bought on the way out of the Ferry Terminal at Tangier Med (there are kiosks for Insurance, Mobile SIMs and ATMs) I took a Revolute card and used ATMs for cash (difficult to get Moroccan Dirhams outside of the country). No breakdown cover and not particularly mechanically minded. I can sort a puncture but work on the basis that bikes are pretty reliable these days (I bought a Tenere T700 specifically because it doesn't have loads of sensors and 'aids' (Just ABS), so less stuff to go wrong. I take a small tool kit for the basics. Service the bike before heading off and work on a good helping of optimism ... and pick my moments. The weak link is likely me, more than the bike. If I'm really remote then I'm more cautious with my riding, for both our sakes.
How much is the insurance in Morocco
From memory....I think in the region of €120 for the month
very cool ride again!!
Thanks again Bud!
You are living my dream my friend! I wish you safe trips and all the good views 👍
Thanks Bud! Appreciated 👍
Hi man, greetings from Brazil! I like doing some adventures on my bike too. Hope someday be able to do some of them abroad as well. Ill be following your jorney from here. Ride safe!
Thanks for watching and really hope that works out for you👍
Where is day 1 ?❤
Good spot 👍 .... and thanks for watching. Reality is I wasn't at all organised and didn't plan to video the trip to any great extent (hence the rubbish mic ... it gets better later in the trip) So unfortunately I didn't capture the great run down through Chefchaouen. From day Two videoing just became a habit and I'm glad for that
