Snowshoeing San Bernardino Pass | Switzerland | Christmas Day | Part 1
When was the last time that you've seen REAL SNOW❄️? For us, this was about 10 years ago, but we found the perfect opportunity to do just that, on Christmas Day🎄2024.
Early in the morning, we left behind our cozy Airbnb in the hills above Lake Constance, Germany, and traveled 180 km (111 mi) to Switzerland, to cross the San Bernardino Pass on foot.
The San Bernardino Pass is an alpine pass in Switzerland, connecting the Italian-speaking region of Ticino with the German-speaking Graubünden (or the other way around).
The pass road is usually open to traffic from late May to early November, depending on snow conditions, and, because now it was closed, we choose to go here and brace the snows.
December 25 was our second attempt at doing this, as two days before we made the same trip, but totally unprepared. No snowshoes, no mountain poles, trail-running shoes. A blizzard was also raging outside. It was a disaster. To keep matters short, our incursion lasted max. half an hour.
This time, though, we brought the heavy gear, and we made it. We climbed the snow covered road, enjoyed perfect weather conditions, made it to the top, and returned to where our car was patiently waiting for us.
In 7 hours, we covered 16.46 km (10.22 miles), climbed from 1600 m to 2125 m (5249 ft - 6972 ft), and gained 553 m of elevation (1814 feet). The temperature ranged between 3 and -20°C (37 to -4°F).
This is the first part of the trip, in which we reach the top of the San Bernardino Pass. A second part is in the works, where we film the return trip.

With its 1000 islands, Croatia is the best place from where to explore the Adriatic Sea. On the island Krk, you can loose yourself among the thousands of people enjoining the hot Mediterranean sun in crowded places, like the famous plaža Baška, or you can retreat to less known beaches, like the plaža Tinka, and rest between laurel trees and sclerophyllous evergreens. The choice is yours. This v...

The Carpathian Mountains are known to be some of the wildest mountains in Europe. This is where we set out to climb Romania's highest peak, Vârful Moldoveanu, towering at 2544 m (8346 ft) above the scenery. We camped at Bâlea Lake, situated at the top of the Transfăgărășan (a switchback road that crosses through the heart of the Făgăraș Mountains), and started our run from there, the morning of...

absolutely insane-there is no way that should be able to happen, I saw it with my own eyes and I still can't believe it
Amazing
Thank you for the impressions of that trail!
Very beautiful underwater world!
Can you swim on that Balea lake? Is the water clean and warm enough in summer to swim in?
@Superator69 The lake and the area around it is a nature reserve, so swimming is not allowed. Some do it, though, and usually get fined for it.
Breathtaking drone shots. The family of bears was so cute.
Perfeição, exatidão e mais um passo importantíssimo para humanidade.
Yes,the future should look like the future ..❤
What a ballsy idea. NASA would never have tried something like this.
NASA doesn’t care. Their budget is bottomless.
🥲👀🥲
Triumphant for sure Space X...... 🎉🎉
It's out of this world.
NASA never had that enthusiasm. I was a boy back during the moon days. They were nowhere near that enthusiastic. This is a species level event.
Someone commented on X that Elon Musk is making history. My thought was: again. Friking again. Mad respect for the people working for him.
This is fucking insane
Absolutely.
Does the future come without this music? If so, I'm all for it !
@@tortysoft Not Tesla's future 😅
How do you do the Eqalization at 2:38 so well?? Nice Job!
@@asioalmo8618 Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Just have to push air against the upper back of the mouth, or something like that, until you feel ease on the ears. I don't know how to explain it exactly.
Complimenti ha un ottima apnea
Foarte frumos.😂😂
i love tesla model x tesla i love you're vidoes from alina❤
Beautiful 😍 Italy
Great video. Is it possible to test drive the Cybertruck there?
No, it was only available for viewing. We weren't even allowed to check the interior or touch it.
Hi! Can you recommend a freedive buddy who can accompany me or freedive center who offers group dive going to the Christ of the Abyss and Marine Park?
Hi! Unfortunately I don't know any freediving communities. We plan to go there again starting with the 21th of July, though. If you're in the area, you're welcome to join us.
@@travelwithtesla Oh! That’d be nice!! I’m planning to go there Aug 30, though!
@@travelwithteslaIf ever you ran or met into any freediver/freediving center around the area, pls let me know!! 💗
@@depthoftheocean Will do.
i will consider it a complete success when when starship reaches actual orbit and both stages are able to be reused
When that happens, it will be a huge huge achievement.
There were two maybe 3 goals for this flight not counting data collection (which was really the true goal), soft land the booster (they did), survive reentry(they did albeit with extreme damage), and if they got that far soft land the ship (they did while extremely damaged as well) I’d call that a success for what targets they set for themselves
I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT STARSHIP ! NOW THAT WE HAVE HAD A COMPLETE SUCCESS WE NEED TO PUT A CREW ON BOARD TO MONITOR SPECIFIC CONDITIONS OF THE SHIP WHILE IT COMES IN FOR A CHOPSTICK CATCH !
A crewed flight is still something for the future. The next flight will be a big big milestone if the chopstick catch works, and, before people get on the beast, SpaceX will have to do lots of successful cargo missions. For reference, Falcon flew about 70 cargo missions, before it took Doug and Bob into space, back in 2020.
You need to work for NASA 😂
That'll do, li'l flap, that'll do. Hardfought. Much Respect. Salute, li'l flap - you bow to no one!
The Zombie Flap 😅
You spelled "fourth" wrong.
Thanks for the heads-up! I made the video in a rush after the launch and this slipped me.
Thanks man, this rebroadcast is much, much clearer than the live presentation on the launch day.
X needs to improve a lot on their video capabilities.
Is the same bruh..
@@viarnay There can be only ONE 😆
@@viarnay Nah. You can plainly tell that not only is the resolution higher than X's 1080p limit, but it's one generation cleaner as well. This really helps a lot during moments where details are inherently obscure, such as most of the nighttime reentry when the camera has been partially busted.

Very nice place!
Cool! What is this white? Like milk
I don't know exactly. I think it's rests from decomposing plants.
Very cool
Hey! Nice video! Do you need any permits for freedive in Germany?
Hi, thanks! Here at Kreidesee you need to be a certified freediver. AIDA2 or higher. In public places you don't need a certificate.
@@travelwithtesla Thanks!
how is each car doing it's own thing...i thought they would all have identical routine. That's really cool!
Artistic license. 😜
How long can you hold your breath underwater to the max and how deep can you free dive with and without fins?
Atm, only a little more than one minute. Still a lot of room for improvement. The deepest dive I've done without fins is 17 m (55 ft).
That's good for a beginner, thx@@travelwithtesla
Beautifuly filmed ❤
Fantastic trip! Beautiful places, views and landsapes. Great to watch your video👍👍Greetings!
Thank you!
so they sold you the software unlock for the hardware you already owned? and you defend this practice? pretty fking amazing!
🤔🤔
How does it project with the headlights?!
The Matrix LED headlights enable that. From what I know, they are able to turn individual LEDs on/off.
Amen.
great and expencive wayto produce waste
