What did the signal flags indicate?
"he didn't slam you, he didn't bump you, he didn't nudge you... he *rubbed* you. And rubbin, son, is racin'."
A forage cap is a forage cap....not a kepi or a "bummer cap" aka McDowell pattern
That's the thorn?
"Пошли вон с наших территориальных вод , носители ЛГБТ". Крепки были коммунистические предки, и всё правильно делали!
Fucking crazy Ivan's.
Hey Gunny! Hank from A-Gang. I remember that day like it was yesterday. Hope all is well with you. Miss Good Old CG-48😎🍺
Looks like they almost went over where did they think raming a ship that big would get em severally damaged or sunk is all
Lawyer’s reaction…. 😆
Cool movie
Maybe americans should not go to russian waters and provoke. Aoviets were too soft. Should of sunk them
anyone watcing this from DSS III ??
I was there in '77. There was plenty of commie destroyers shadowing us but no ramming
"Good Times"~!!! "COLD WAR BABY~!!!!! Ohhhhh Baby how I Miss It~!!!!🇺🇲
What would America do if a Russian naval ship sailed 15 miles off the coast of America- Manhattan, for instance?
Wow what a ship in the 1980s rest in peace old girl
thanks for the link!
angry ship rammed
Liberals were always stupid, even back in the day.
Well, this is not a battering ram, but a bulk. It was held in order to expel the violator of the state border without the use of weapons, in 1988. The "Беззаветный" (the "Selfless", displacement 3200t) made a bulk on the "Yorktown" (19875t), and the TFR-6 (1140 t) on the "Caron" (8040 t). Everything was done according to the order of the commander of the Black Sea Fleet. After the incident, the American vessels left soviet territorial/neutral waters and never returned. Carion was out of commission for months.
These Russians are basically your usual Maryland drivers except on a ship.
Soviet Russian Warship go f*** yourself for colliding my Protective Big Sister USS Yorktown (CG-48)!
Torpedo tubes Great for launching ping pong balls : - ))
I was a Plankowner as an ET2 left in 85 and retired off her in 01 an ETC
The day before "the attack of the killer ping pong balls"
What is that?
@@mdb831 July 4th 1984 The day of the commissioning ceremony at the weapons station in Yorktown VA Right after the ship was |placed in commission" you had the "coming alive ceremony where two things happened 300 plus crew members that were not involved in making the ship "come alive" manned the rails on the STBD side Anything that would move, the guns, rotated and trained up and down and the launchers loaded birds and rotated and trained up and dawn any antenna that would move, it did I was moving the OE=82-C's the exclamation point was the STBD side torpedo tubes, the door slid open and the tubes rotated out and they were full of colored ping pong balls,, red, white and blue ping pong balls there were supposed to get shot out via HP air over the heads of the VIP section down on the pier Lets just say that it did not go quite as planned and as result Captain Anderson never became Admiral Anderson
Crazy Ivan.
What is the original source of these videos? This is great information and I’ve been looking for the complete video for years, but I haven’t found it.
It amazing how reckless the Russians were. We were in the Baltic Sea in 1986 when two Russian helos approached our fantail helo deck, BB61. We on the MarDet responded to positions with Machine guns to, if ordered, repel the Russian helos. It was pretty exciting. They hovered about 80 ft off the deck and then took off after about 15 minutes. A lot of aggressive things happened in the Baltic Sea on the deployment; the Russians did not like us there at all.
Note that the Russians are standing still and the Americans are thrashing around on the deck as if in a sanatorium for the mentally ill.
I was a Gunner's Mate on USS Mobile Bay CG-53. Would've nice to see you guys put a 5" up that Ruskie's ass! :-)
The cold war was dope, like imagine the guys you dislike and constantly threaten yadayadayada iron cutain, sails one of his ships up to yours and the guys you have political tensions with are right beside you just checking out your ship
I wish this whole documentary was downloaded on youtube
probably drunk off vodka
You mean the yankees? Because they surpassed Soviet water territories.
The suction of the carrier screws pulled that boat in. Lucky the Russian ship didn't sink. I'll bet the Russian officers had to go clean their underwear after that!!! 💩💩💩
Don't trust this rude Russia soldier. Russian soldier didn't do that
Also happened to USS Briscoe DD977 in Med 1984......not rammed, but Soviet ship made an approach on our port side....so close I was able to see the insignia on the officer's shoulder boards. They had bright blue uniforms.
You had your trading ramps out it was indeed a miss leading rep on your part an a miss opportunity to get good vodka for j/b whisky you need not lift your skirt if your not willing to share
*LESSON: America only understands brute force.* "Get the hell out of Soviet waters, cowards!"
Am I supposed to feel patriotic or bad for the US side? They were in the black sea doing overt manuevers in the soviet unions back yard. What did these guys expect would happen?
the russians hit the uss yorktown and uss caron
Typical example of the US barbarianism and agression. Imagine a Soviet vessel approaching this much to Miami coast.
