Making Bagels
Welcome! This wasn't a great video as I set up my tripod in the wrong place (solo videography has its downsides). But, come along as Justus and I make some homemade bagels. It's a fun process and the result is delicious.

He sleeps so well in the wrap, with contact and a swaddle like effect. How do you wear your babies? #baby #momlife #babywearing #sling #stretchywrap

I tried your recipe and it is just very delicious. I will make them now often.
@KinzaKornelsen awesome! I'm glad you enjoyed them!
Love the idea of grinding your own flour. You retain the nutrients.
@@AChristianWomansJourney that's what I've heard! I found an Azure Standard drop near me, so I think I'm going to try their wheat berries.
They look really good. Thank you for the video.❤
We love egg & cheese bagels 🥯 with sausage or bacon 😋
@@Steph458 yummy!
I will always remember the first time I had bagels~ I was absolutely thrilled something with such a dense, chewy texture existed. I think I was 14 or so. My dear Aunt Pat discovered them at a bakery in Oregon, near her home. The baker suggested eating them toasted w/cream cheese, & we never looked back. Shortly after that, they started showing up in regular grocery stores~ or maybe I began noticing them. This was in the late 70's, early 80's, & before stand alone bagel shops were a thing- like "Einstein's". Wasn't too much later that big, soft pretzels came about~ yet another oh yum! Usually at the mall food court, if I recall. I no longer eat many carbs, so bread/pasta/potatoes are not really on the menu anymore, but I sure have fond memories of them. *This video made me realize I never did make them myself, so I may have to develop a low carb version using protein powder and/or egg white powder in place of flour. Simple, lovely tutorial Virginia~ which will inspire many a young wife I'm sure. May your efforts be blessed.Samantha in AZ
@RV-there-Yet thank you for sharing that story! When I was living at home, bagels were mostly "trip food" so they were a special treat. We could toast them easily in the camper, or as people were getting out the door and we didn't have to have a lot of parts and pieces on hand that other breakfasts take. And we would serve them on paper towels so we didn't send up with dirty dishes. They are also a cheaper at Aldi (which we didn't have in Maine,) which also contributed to them being a treat on trips. It's interesting how certain foods lead to so many memories and stories!
Why does he carry a gun? What is the need/point?
Hello. He carries in case he would need it to protect others from harm. Unfortunately, in our fallen world, evil men want to harm others and good men must step in to protect.
Loved your lil famiy. We are the Berrys from Yarmoth,Nova Scotia,Canada...you seem so young.
Thank you for joining us! Yes, we are fairly young. I (Virginia) am 21 and Wayland is almost 25.
Beautiful life sharing thank you
Thank you for joining us!
I love that you focus on our savior's birth on Christmas, the purpose for the holiday.
Thank you. Truly Christ is the greatest reason to celebrate, any time of the year!
I just subscribed to your channel your tree is beautiful! I like to turn all the lights off and just have my tree lit up at night.
Thank you! Yes, it is fun to sit with just the soft lights on the tree at night.
You are such a lovely Mum and your little one is gorgeous God Bless you and your family ❤
Thank you so much. God bless!
So glad I found your channel! I missed seeing you on your parents channel! Thank you for this video! Praying you have a great December! 🩷
Thank you for joining us! I love having a way to share the blessings of this life God has given us.
Flexibility is the biggest part of parenting, imho~ especially that first year or two. I can remember feeling so incredibly stressed at times if I couldn't get everything checked off my list each day. I quickly learned that my own stress was affecting my baby, my husband, & the entire family- all three of us at that time. This was no bueno, & not glorifying God in any way, so I set out to adjust my thinking on home management~ starting with including it in my prayer time. I figured out that my "list" was never going to be a one & done list, that it's perfectly acceptable for certain items to carry over to the next day, & that I could find satisfaction & peace in what I DID manage to get done that day. I also learned to ask God into these daily things, no matter how small or silly I thought they were, because God cares about every single detail in our lives~ not just the big stuff, which I once thought. That one took me a while, to be honest, & that's alright~ because it did eventually happen, praise God! A patient, calm natured husband is priceless too~ you can learn & grow together without the added stress of unrealistic expectations from your spouse. You each have huge responsibilities within the family, & it seems as though you both respect this fact~ which is beautiful...& oh so helpful.=) So happy for you that this was also modeled for you growing up, within your childhood home & family~ my goodness, what a blessing!Samantha
Hello Samantha. Thank you so much for taking the time to write. That was a very encouraging note. It can be easy to stress and thank you for the reminder to see how it is affecting my family and to pray. You definitely pointed out some things I can work on puting into practice.
Beautiful tree you have to put water in the tree stand. Didn’t know if you knew that. You have to check the water often great job
@Alittlelady83 thank you! Yes, we have been watering it, the tree farm put up signs about that. Thank you for pointing that out.
Beautiful tree x

What a beautiful tree 🌲
How beautiful! I have friends in Sweetwater ❤
@@16cents561-aka-Cindi-Rice that's right down the road from us.
Beautiful tree!!!! I am and was raised Christian we always had a tree, nativity scene, and a wreath. I don’t think there is anything wrong either way. I also think it’s ok to buy a couple gifts for those you love ecspecially the children maybe 3 gifts.
@shaunalea823 I thought about making a wreath, but haven't gotten to it yet. We are doing gifts for each other also.
Can you share where you get the music for your videos?
@AChristianWomansJourney hello! I just use the sound tracks on the Samsung video editor I use to edit my videos.
@This-Blessed-Life ah, ok, thanks!
Keeping Christmas about Jesus 😊
Beautiful tree!!!
Yes, Christmas for us is all about Jesus. Thank you for sharing. God bless. The tree looks lovely.❤
That is wonderful! It is way to over commercialized. I found out that in my ancestral homeland, Ukraine, people get gifts on St. Nicholas day. On the nativity they go to church and focus on the birth of Christ.
@@ligiaferreira6555 thank you. Amen. In all we do, Christ must be at the center.
@@ryanm7249 that is a neat way to do it. Thank you for sharing.
Blue spruce are beautiful! We have them around our yard.
Great explanation about why you celebrate the way you do. We always cut spruce of some variety. White pine is plentiful back here in Maine. Love you all. -Daddy Oh and blue spruce are beautiful lit up.
@HerdingLittleCows I like the white pine, but come next year I might want a palm tree, who knows. 😁 Love y'all too
Such a precious moment 😭 thank you guys for sharing! As someone who is about the same age as you guys, your videos give me so much hope in one day finding a godly marriage
@auroragibson5961 thank you for your kind words! God grants marriage to those He wills, and while it's not always in our preferred timing, He accomplishes His will in the perfect time.
@ Amen! In His timing I trust 🙏❤️

Loving this vlog style, you’re like your mother in being so natural in front of the camera. Love you all so much! -Daddy
We love you too!
That looked like a fun hike. Justus had a great time.
It was a great family adventure.
I was so happy to hear you are Reformed Baptist!! 🎉 Same. My first clue was the HeartCry mug. 👍🏻 I love watching your videos. Are your parents also Reformed Baptist?
Thank you for joining us! Yes, we love HeartCry. That mug was a gift from one of our visits to the office. God has used them greatly to bless the Church. Yes, my parents are also Reformed Baptist. They live in Maine and have a UA-cam channel about family life to the glory of God.
Yes we are also Reformed Baptist. Glad you found their channel, I think it’ll be a blessing to others.
@This-Blessed-Life I used to listen to Paul Washer as a teen sometimes, but did not become Reformed Baptist until a few years ago. Many in my family are Anabaptist. We have gone back and forth many times about whether to head cover or not, especially since so many we know treat it as a salvation thing. I enjoy seeing women who do.
@@HerdingLittleCowsoh, I agree! And I am subscribed to your channel as well, and I enjoy watching as I have time. Thank you for what you share! I am a mom of 7 myself, and my husband and I are surrounded by people who disagree with our "leaving our family size to God" belief. It's rough out here! But we know what we believe is right. Also, we love children. 👍🏻
@@sophiehomemakermany in Wayland's extended family are Anabaptist also. We become Reformed Baptist in our younger years, having been taught it by our parents and other trusted sources. Both our parents practiced headcovering in accordance with 1 Corinthians 11, and our church does as well, so it was never taught to us in a legalistic context, but rather out of joyful obedience and submission to the order of the God Who saved us. We do not believe we are saved by it.
The first year is not easy but naps are your friend .I hope justice gets better and sleeps all night for you guys
@@pennygardner8496 thank you. I love naps. 😁
