@@scarletsavenger1367 I have washed Nellie's dress with success! It does not bleed any color. I recommend using whatever detergent is gentle on your skin (you only need a tiny bit) and hand wash it in cold water. I have a detailed guide on my blog for washing AG clothes (FixMyAGDoll.com). Your Samantha turned out so beautiful, and I just adore Samantha and Nellie together. I've always been afraid to wash the AG clothes, so this is helpful! I've done some baking soda for odors and steaming for wrinkles but have never washed. Do you think the toothpaste trick should work on Samantha's brass lunch box too? Mine is completely tarnished!!
@@ParkingtonPlace Samantha and Nellie are a stunning BFF pair 😍 You could definitely try it out on the lunchbox! If you're nervous, you could trial on the bottom first, and see how it turns out.
Love restoration videos! I’ve never seen one for clothes before so that was helpful to see! I didn’t know there was a color safe oxi clean - I’ll have to try that next time since I did notice the red from the tags bleeding last time I tried😅
@@agtwins7198 color safe oxy clean is a game changer for AG and human clothes 😎 idk what is in the red dye but almost all red clothes from AG bleed! It's so annoying 🙃
I do have a question do you know how to get stains off of an ag doll cloth body? My Elizabeth her meet dress stained her
@@samuraireincarnation3853 the dress stained her cloth body!?! That is so wild!! Here is what I would do: 1) spray liquid hydrogen peroxide onto the stains and let sit for 20 min. Then try to wash out. 2) if #1 doesn't work, you'll have to remove the stuffing and soak the body in color safe oxy clean (use package instructions). Sometimes you have to soak a few times until it's all out. 3) if that doesn't work, the last resort is to soak the stain with isopropyl alcohol with a cotton pad underneath to try and get the ink out. If none of those work, you may be out of luck. You can always find a replacement cloth body on the secondhand market- they are usually reasonably priced. Sidenote- I have a post on my blog detailing washing AG clothes, and the same principles apply to the cloth body. It's on fixmyagdoll.com Good luck!!
I love doll restoration videos and I agree that the dolls have an extra happy twinkle in their eye when they are all done. 🤗 I love Samantha’s long eyelashes! Her pink cheeks worked out really well. I love her hair. She’s beautiful. 💕

Do you want to know what causes random holes in WOOL fabrics & garments? Moths!! Even the most careful child who puts everything away when they’re done with it isn’t going to be thinking about mothballs or cedar hangers in their doll’s trunk. And it’s even less likely that they’d think about this when they pack it away and it goes in the back of a closet, basement, barn or attic.
@@sarahhopper8891 that's what I was thinking but didn't want to get too nasty lol. Kids also poke holes through things in general 😅 I don't want to make assumptions. It's weird that it's a particularly an issue for that specific dress.
One of my rules is never own a white body they just do nothing for me and tbh don’t even really like pleasant company stuff and prefer transitional and American girl era

You have a beautiful Addy Walker. She definitely reminds me of when I had a PC Addy in 1994. I have a Beforever Addy. I purchased her original meet outfit when AG put it on sale. I also purchased AG"s version of Addy's birthday outfit. I did not go to the event.

@@tinmanlover1994 thank you!! I was so stunned 😭😭 fortune cookie doll means that they have a tag inside of them. For someone reason in the early PC days, they put the tags inside of the head/body lol. I was not expecting it when I took her head off 🤣
What are your tips for placing the head back on? I restored 4 doll (2 of my sisters, a TLC, and my Samantha) and I cannot get their heads to stay on. It took me 20 times with Elizabeth, and I’m still fearful Kananis is gonna fall off. I still need to my Nellie (I got her used but her limbs are in rough shape) I have been wanted Nellie for years so I really wanna get this right and stop having the heads come off 😭 thank you ❤
@@scarletsavenger1367 wow so much work- but it'll be worth it!! The easiest way to keep the head on in my experience is with help from another person! So one person holds the body and presses the head down, while the other person ties the neck strings as tight as possible (I always do a double knot). If you don't have anyone to help, you can also lay the doll down and push the head against a wall and hold her in place while you tie the neck strings. The tighter you knot the strings in place, the better! If you have zip ties, just remember to tighten them as much as possible.
@@FixMyAGDoll my mom and I tried the two person thing multiple times and her head fell right off :( I just bought some new string on Amazon so I’m gonna try and replace the neck strings because when I fixed the TLC doll (it’s for a little girl who is turning 6 next month) I didn’t have as many issues. But I’ll have my mom hold the head and the body and I’ll hold the strings and see if that works too.

@@scarletsavenger1367 good luck! Just to make sure- the doll head does have a base at the bottom of the neck, right? Because if it's just the neck without a base, you'll need to get a head replacement.

I feel like the Joss mold could be a good contender but it’s so hard to say, ultimately none of us are ever going to have the exact same face as a doll so my brain has a hard time even picking out the similarities that do exist. For eyes, I feel like every time I see an AG doll with non-AG eyes it just looks off to me, maybe I just haven’t seen the right ones but sticking with AG eyes is always my vote. If you do go with a cyo, they do sometimes include them in points multipliers, I got both of mine during 4x points events and it’s a nice chunk of rewards dollars, especially as a berry member.

You were a cute little girl! My vote is Josefina or Marie Grace face mold, no bangs, skin tone without tan, AG brown eyes, full eyebrows. Hope that helps! I am trying to pin down my mini me as well. I have a few in my collection that could be me at different ages. I would have to customize a bit to get a closer match. Maybe I will one day. Fun video!

I love Rebecca and Nellie/Samantha’s outfits. I have a few of Rebecca’s clothes and one of Samantha’s the iconic lavender bridesmaid dress that came out when the movie came out.

So fun to hear your thoughts because I have been speculating to myself as well! I absolutely think Samantha and Felicity are coming in the future👀 And I expect to at least see the outfits that go to the other 4 books for Addy, Josefina and Kirsten because just books 1&4 would be strange. But I think they might spread out those releases over 2+ years because 6 releases is kind of a lot. I would really love some of the outfits that are very hard to find secondhand AND brand new outfits for them as well but that seems less likely to me. Not sure what I think about Caroline and MG&C coming back as much as I would LOVE to get their items again I feel like rereleasing them would be a whole different scenario than just doing the older, really iconic, classic characters like the others. I would be less surprised about the best friends coming back!
@@agtwins7198 I'm also starting to get the feeling that the releases of more outfits will be spread over 2 or more years- but selfishly I want them now lol. I do agree that Caroline, Marie grace and Cecile are more of a stretch; I wonder if when more gen z parents become parents of 8+ year olds in like a decade those will be re-released because they would be nostalgic for them!? We can only speculate 😉

I just got Nellie! I have to restring her, but otherwise she is great! She just came in the mail! I’ve been wanting this doll since I was 9, so I’m very excited. Unfortunately she didn’t come with her hat or necklace, but at least I got her blue dress 😅 I can find the tights and shoes for cheap online (I think)

I have most of the same pieces for Rebecca including both coats. I would love to get her lace dress and the costume but I an not paying the second market price. I don't have the play outfit and it is not on my list. For Nellie I her meet outfit , the pink spring dress, her coat is cool and I have her Irish dance outfit. Samantha I have her play outfit it tis one of my favorites, her buster brown dress, her Christmas dress original and Beforever and her Sailor outfit. She also have two great coats. There are a few outfits I still want for Samantha. There is another Irish dance outfit I got for Emily. Addy is my girl I want everything I can get for her. I have the coat with the hat and her knitted pieces. The stilting outfit is my favorite also and I have it. Thanks for sharing

@@FixMyAGDoll yes, I love my collection and was mainly focused on the historical then I went off the rails and got most of the GIrl of The Year and now I have added some truly me and honestly it is now to large and i have limited space so I cant rally enjoy it. I think I have some hard decisions to make in the near future. Wish me luck.

What a fantastic find! The outfit Emily is wearing is one of the outfits for the contemporary/Truly Me/whatever it is/was called line. Okay, I just looked it up in an old catalogue, it's called the winter magic outfit. The textured cream-colored tights that Nellie is wearing go with it too.
