Did people not wear underwear in the 1700s? I think Kaya should have some panties. It’s not good to undress them on camera. But it’s probably not that big of deal. They aren’t real people, but they represent young girls. At least felicity has an underdress. Samatha has an underdress too. 😊

I love seeing your dolls and their outfits every video 💜 I agree that Nellie looks better in pastels and Samantha in darker tones! My goals are to get all of the classic mini dolls I’m interested in and make their meet accessories. I have a mini Elizabeth from my childhood and made her fan, necklace, and pinner cap. How do you put on Kaya’s Moccasins, and take them off, will be sending her to the care center sometime in the near future, which will require her to be naked.

I'm not a collector, I'm kind of getting into american girl and thinking of getting one doll. I want to read the books of the historical girls and choose the one I like best. Currently I like Nellie best, but I've only seen babbity kate's vidoes of Kirsten and Samantha part 1. It may change as I read the books. I found them scanned as ebooks and I'm excited!

My Wish List: I really want to find Josefina's Harvest Outfit (Brand New) I want two more Molly dolls from the 2010s to put into her Winter Outfit (Slicker, Rain Hat, Umbrella, and Galoshes) and School Outfit. I want two of Emily's Tap Outfits (One just for her tap shoes for my Molly) and another for another brand-new Emily, which I hope to get later next year. I really want a Brand New Cecile. There are obviously more things that I want. LOL.

14:00 if I remember correctly, the top was supposed to be loose, almost kinda bubble like I like to hold onto hope that some of the dresses for the historical girls (especially earlier time periods) are/feel thin cause the makers understood that there were LAYERS of underwear with all the shifts and corsets and petticoats etc

18:09 I think you’re referring to combinations. I found a pattern for AG sized 1920s combinations and I for sure plan on making them for the Claudie I will one day have 😅

I’m honestly surprised that they didn’t do actual Olympic outfits, like the ones from the last Summer and Winter Olympics. Even if it was the same gymnastics, swimming, volleyball, etc outfits as the last one. Was just kinda like “oh…that’s it?”

Thanks for sharing your goals. You have me laughing so often when I watch your videos. In the 35+ years I have been collecting, I have amassed a large fortune in items, yet I have all the dolls but not the outfits. I am planning to scale back. Purchase the dolls with being more discriminative about which outfits I purchase. Having many additional outfits that are bagged/new in the box defeats my collecting purposes. The outfit you placed on Kaya is in a box never used. Seems gluttonous and wasteful in my mind. For 2025, I would like Rebecca's lavender dress and hat, as well as her Seaside Beach outfit, Kits red and yellow swimsuit set (people dislike it yet I find humor when I view it), Kaya's Trading Post and Pow Wow outfits (Beforever), Samantha's Travel Coat and Flower Picking dress. I made the effort to purchase it last week. When I went to purchase, the travel coat sold. That occurs when you attempt to bundle to save on shipping. I have most of everything else, including Bitty Baby/Twins available/retired. Continue as you are moving along. Buy what has value to you, opposed to what is available.

Really enjoyed hearing about your goals for your collection! I got way too many dolls this year but still would really love to get Claudie and Addy next year! I also really want Addy’s Beforever School Outfit as well as Julie’s Calico Outfit. They were high priorities this year too but they’re just so expensive and I’m still hoping to hold out for a deal😅 Good luck with your collection!

I really would love to have for the older Histocal dolls to bring back the extra replacement bows and hair things and also having the meet outfit be available to purchase separately because theirs Alot of us who find dolls nude or just parts the meet or lose the meet dress all together. Like with my kaya meet dress. Cause I want to fix mine up I need to find her meet dress or maybe AG can release other outfits for Kaya that's of her time cause the one is I guess sold out online but I need a deer skin dress for my kaya.

Then the AGOT shirt's and Jeans for them to match along with their assccories. But I want to see more Rerelease outfits for the older Historical because I have just the dolls and I'm wanting to decide if I want get some of the kavi and Lilla outfits cause girl of the year is my favorite line but I love historical too though

I was so excited to watch this video! I am sewing a holiday doll dress and wanted to watch something nostalgic! I got my Molly in 1993 and I have her 1994 holiday dress, probably got it for Christmas 1994 or my birthday just before, so it was special to see this issue. I absolutely poured through this exact catalog and it’s so fun to see it again. I forgot the hair ribbons were sold separately and that explains why I never had those green ones for her school outfit! I 100% had a sunflower hat like that 😄 I’d love to see later catalogs.

I totally agree on your hopes for the historical collection! I desperately want more “core” outfits for the newer historicals, especially Claudie who needs more 1920s accurate stuff! I can’t bring myself to buy the Harlem Fashion Row collection for her. Much too modern inspired by. My ultimate dream, along with a return to the world books, is to see scenes & settings for all of the newer characters. I prefer these to big tickets because they store easier yet bring each girl’s world to life just as well. How cool would it be to pose Claudie in her Harlem boarding house or have her frolic on her grandma’s farm? 😊 I absolutely love Elizabeth in Felicity’s beforever meet! I’ve hated on that dress, too, but I don’t have Elizabeth. I don’t think it suits Felicity, but Elizabeth shines in it.

I'm loving all your disclaimers lol. I like the idea of starting with soapy water and then using the magic eraser for the spots that need it rather than for the entire process. I also cut the magic eraser into at least 6 pieces and I think that makes it go a little further. And I think you are probably safe in using the Benzoyl peroxide. I've even used it since making a video about those statistics. I felt like, as a content creator, the responsible thing to do was share what information I could find so people could make informed decisions, but personally that information convinced me to adjust (temporarily at least) the *way* I use it (ex: outside, without a heat lamp). Lovely explanation of why and how you approached her hair. Great video!

This is a great video. Did you know that headband you put on Claudie is known to stain her forehead? Just and FYI. I agree about the books. It promotes reading and also gives people an understanding of the meaning behind the historical dolls.😊

The hair on your addy is beautiful. When I see you dress your dolls I want to pull out all my historical outfits and just dress everyone. I never thought to use that blue outfit on Melody. I would love to get Kirsten’s promise dress. Thanks for a fun video

The original historical lines were for ages 8 and up because of the historical settings. The 18 inch dolls are now 6 and up because of the quality of the dolls verses understanding history. American Girl is a place where people shop for dolls, clothes, etc. It is not an environment where people go to look for books. Many books were unread. The graphic novels have the visual appeal to draw in readers. It is a way to inspire children to actually read the books because they weren’t reading the full novels as purchased through AG.

American Girl’s Harlem Fashion Row outfits for Claudie are inspired by Harlem fashions in the 1920’s. They were based on what adult women wore in the entertainment/club environment. The adults in entertainment and arts created the greatest impact on life in Harlem during the Renaissance. They are in no way reflective of what 10 year olds would wear. I have a TM 58 I use for the 1920’s. I made her a few more dresses for the 1920’s. I would love to see more appropriate clothes and accessories for the 10 year olds living in the Harlem community.

Dude, I LOVED the (character)’s craftbook and cookbooks! They were so cool. If I’m remembering right, they only had the first 6? But I’d love to see ones made for the other historical characters

I have gotten younger version of the stories at the AG store for younger kids and they are great. My granddaughter loves graphic novels. It is great for any child as kids today seem to have shorter attention span since they are on computers a lot and are getting used to receiving information in short burst.

I don’t then they are doing anything for Claudine they could have released a holiday dress or rereleased som other historical holiday outfits already the season has already started. I think all these sales re because they have a lot of merchandise that would have been donated through the benefit sale. Also kids don’t read as much so we don’t see all the sets lit the craft sets and construx-Lego type sets all of which connected kids to the dolls and their stories. I would love to se a holiday and spring outfit school outfit for Claudie. I am more of a historical collector

I really want to see more released for Claudie! More for the historical girlies in general honestly - I feel like there wasn’t that much new this year for them. I was just watching some older 2010s catalog flip throughs and miss the days where they each had 5-7 outfits. I agree that it’s an easier sell for a doll if she actually has stuff available to go with her!
