What an excellent haul! The poetry by Lautréamont sounds amazing -- that's something I'll be looking out for in the future. The best of luck to you with Knausgaard!
That Under the Volcano cover art is wonderful! Great haul!
Your last video actually inspired me to open a tiktok account where i talk about the books i read with the sole reason of me liking to talk about them. Love to watch your videos while working 🙌
@@ezgipncr Aw thank you that’s so cool to hear. I’d check it out but I don’t have a TikTok, not good for my attention span/dopamine levels 😬 I hope you have fun with it 🙂
hey, currently reading life of pi, any thoughts?
never read it. what do you think?
Lovely video here - I love a good ramble like this. Don Delillo seems overhyped to me too! How awesome are library sales, eh? Hope you have a good one :) and that you keep up with your rambly videos
I want to check out A View to the Harbor. You had me at Trollope!
Hey, Hungarian here! Magda Szabó is one of our important authors, I haven't read Katalin street yet, but if you have it, I recommend The Door from her, it is truly an amazing and shocking, yet beautiful novel. I just hope that the English translation gives justice to the gorgeous language she uses:)
I do have a copy of The Door! I've heard a lot of good things about it. I have that, The Fawn, Iza's Ballad, and now Katalin Street, but haven't read any of them yet 😂 I think The Door will be the first one I'll read since I've heard such good things about it. I have a feeling I'm going to love it since so many people whose tastes overlap with mine rave about it-that's why I don't feel so bad about hoarding copies of her books even though I haven't read them yet.
@@libraryofbabble She’s also a highly awarded and praised author in my country, so especially don’t feel bad for hoarding her, she was an excellent writer!! I was really surprised to see her on the list though, I know a lot of her books got translated into many languages, but I’m still always (happily) shocked when I see foreigners reading anything from her:)
Fanny also witnessed Henry's improper behavior. His proposal was insincere.
Interesting varied selection and nice natural delivery style. I have bought Against The Day recently and will be starting it soon but have just started a typically big William T Vollman tome (Europe Central) so it may be a week or two until I try my first Pynchon. Best of luck with the channel.
Thanks! Against the Day is real fun, you'll enjoy it. Vollmann has been on my list forever --- too many books, never enough time.
Really enjoyed your video. I am a late 80’s kid as well and great to see that I’m not the only thirty year old male reading these types of books. I’m especially a huge Pynchon fan, so far having read The Crying of Lot 49, Inherent Vice, Bleeding Edge, and Gravity’s Rainbow. Hoping to get to Mason & Dixon and Against the Day next year. Also a big McCarthy fan, just finished Blood Meridian and have my copies of the Passenger and Stella Maris arriving in a few weeks. Glad UA-cam suggested your video and hope you keep making new videos.
Thanks man! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'll definitely be making more, just gotta find the time.
