Water is hidden in plain sight everywhere around us: with Climate Change and the growing #WaterCrisis it creates, understanding water is a skill that's more valuable than ever.
There's a tremendous business opportunity in the water sector, which doubles down as a unique opportunity to do good (achieve #SDG6 and regenerate the environment).
I share you the keys to understanding the #WaterIndustry - but also to leverage #WaterInvestment and #WaterEntrepreneurship, weekly.

Why Everyone's Betting BIG on Water in 2024
Why is everyone suddenly obsessed with water technology? When GE sold its water division in 2017, nobody blinked. But in 2024, Georg Fischer's stock jumped 15% when they announced they're selling everything BUT water!
Plus GF's not alone: DuPont and Danaher are making similar moves, and there's a World in which Veolia might move along. What changed?
Water tech companies are expected to grow from $290B to $1.4T in value by 2034. From being seen as "slow-growth" and "low-tech" a decade ago, water technology is now the hottest asset in industrial portfolios.
Let's explore what this means for the future of the #WaterSector - and more precisely for #WaterTech companies!

Urine for a Surprise! Is Toilet Waste the Future of Farming?
Xylem has gone down from 145 to 123 from 2024 May to November and you missed to mention this... and similar with GF. The swings in the past make this quite a speculative set of companies don't you think? You should have disclosed it.
Xylem is up 10% since the beginning of the year, and nearly 60% up since it digested the Evoqua merger. My vision is, that water tech is a long term Bet - an investment fund type of Bet - so short term swings are less relevant in my very humble opinion. Now, there would be a full case and deep dive to make on Xylem, as they have traded at a premium over the recent year as the “go to” water stock for water-themed funds. This might evolve with the birth and development of new “go to” water pure player stocks (e.g., if Veralto acquires Dupont)
Cant wait when i have to pay to breath
I’m not quite sure I understand the link. Can you help me?
This is a really interesting topic. I am very interested to know how these numbers (especially with the WaTa model) compare to those of other industries. Obviously, this is unfair to entrepreneurs, but I guess the story is gradually changing. The water sector is receiving more investment, which is kind of encouraging. However, the eater sector deserves more. There are too many WASH-related problems, and the water industry needs more boost for tech developers and startups.
Thank you for this video. It is a fantastic explanation on the adoption timeline for water treatment technologies. I guess maybe thats why a lot of start-ups are focusing on sensing technologies as opposed to treatment technologies.
I would indeed believe, that’s part of the equation! The more hardware and fundamental engineering-intensive your tech is, the longer it will take to get adopted. Now there would be a case to make as well, that the egregiously difficult path to adoption is also your best protection against disruption once you’re in - so if you have the grit, the business case for hardware can be very good. But sure not easy!
These numbers are very encouraging... Good for the industry. Have recent water challenges also contributed to this effect? Especially when Bill Gates and his colleagues are joining the industry. Elon may be next.
🤯 i am a cost center
A cost center? What makes you a cost center? 😃
@AntoineWalterDWW i cost money but i dont make any
You make me chuckle, that’s priceless 💪
tony water
Would love to see a part 2 and ask Barton where Ofwat went wrong in the UK? And if it's even possible to run a profitable wastewater treatment plant? It's a constant and expensive race to keep up with maintenance costs, CECs, and regulatory requirements. Wastewater - the industry in need of neverending subsidies.
VVater, any concerns about hydroxyl byproduct formation from the presence of organic material on the electrodes?
🤯 🤪🤙
Help
growth by government mandate 💦
Well isn't it the fate of most of water endeavors? It’s a regulation driven sector so… Now for the specifics of Veolia’s water tech trajectory, 77% of their customer base is industrial. So I’d say there’s more than government mandate in their growth path, don’t you think so?
👏👏👏👏
Great to see Vortech being represented. Amazing Technology
It's been a long time coming - I've been curious about VorTech since jamming with Sean in Edinburgh two years ago! Amazing Technology indeed, I'll be curious to watch it evolve and roll out.

I used to have a UTI every couple of weeks because of my disabilities. Started drinking half a glass of ozone water twice a day and haven't had a UTI since. I purchased an ozone generator from Amazon and it works great.
Which one did you invest in?
Taking out loans for infrastructure that will benefit current and future residents is different from borrowing for things that won't benefit future generations.
True! So why do those loans - arguably, good loans, as you rightfully underline - still end up not being taken? That’s a riddle to me, honestly.

hello Antoine, can you tell more about the differences between Chinese company and others?
In marketing terms? Actually on trade shows at least, Chinese companies tend to concentrate on facts, facts and data, without the aspirational/colorful/branded experience. As much as I may find that interesting as an engineer, it can be sometimes a bit too dry, in a tradeshow environment. It’s a marketing-intense place, you have to play by the rules to maximize your chances.
interesting company. Their investor information shows a lot of established plants...yet they make no money.
It’s even beyond that: their valorization as a company is lower than the some of the face value of all the plants they own. Would that mean that markets consider their IP and technology as negative value? A riddle to me 😅
It's interesting how no one ever mentions the poor people who used to do business in the shadow of the highway. Those street vendors get driven out so the property values of the corporate-owned buildings can be increased. But I remember them, even if no one else does. The people who were there before the fake concrete stream was put in place with its piped in water. Seoul is a lot prettier now, but also more sterile, systematically stripped of its street life. And by the way, I believe that Lee Myung Bak was not only the benefactor who gave us the Cheongyecheon, but also the businessman who built the ugly highway over it in the first place. So he turned a profit twice.
Interesting perspective! Thanks for the add on.
thank you so much! This video was so helpful :)
ETF with biggest water stocks is the way
Crazy idea we pipe oil and refine it everywhere. Couldn't desalinate water from the ocean and pipe it everywhere.
The problem is weight. Water is heavy (relative to its value), so it rapidly becomes too expensive to move it around.
Thanks for the informative video. And for your effort to convey more about a topic you're clearly passionate about in the comments. I've gotten so much from reading what you and others have shared here. The MrBeast team not getting back to you, speaks volumes to me.

Very educational 😮 i didn't know that place much
your pronunciation of Seoul gave me a pimple.
True story, I was talking with my Korean colleagues, and it took me days to realize we were talking about the same city 😅
Interesting subject, but much, much too long. I got tired of it after about 15 minutes and tried to skip through, but you seemed to be covering too many different aspects. If you can break it down into perhaps 3 videos of under 20 mins each I would watch them. Not sure if you are just giving out science information or trying to raise capital for a venture?
Send the money! No, seriously, I needed a vehicle for my story, and even though the brine analysis are absolutely real, I’m in no position to ever build that project. The aim is, was and will still be to dive into a topic. 🙂 If you’d watch it in 3 shorter instalments, why would you not come back three times and watch this one? I mean, I’ve marked the chapters, so it’s doable right? My experience with cutting (which I did with my exploration of the US Water Infrastructure) is that it performs less which - for a small channel like mine - is a luxury I can’t afford when I spend months digging in a topic. I’m really trying to nail the ideal formula, just for the sake of sharing that (kinda niche) information with the right people. Thanks for your feedback!
Last i heard today is they only have a few months left. If that us true, it would not be in the governments interest to prop up a failing business with taxpayers money at this stage would it? Who would support a failing company with reports of discharging sewerage into the lovely English waterways. Fine them, pop the cash into a cleanup fund, then give them a month to come up with not lesss money, but more in order to clean the sewerage discharged into our waterways. If they care not to the shares will drop and they can be nationalised cheaply and the oublic may see labour care about stuff.
if this was in san francisco, it would be a magnet for homeless encampments, littered with drug needles and human poop. 😖
H3O2 isn't water. This is a classic scsm. You're going down a rabbithole of quackery.
Wow, that was fast to call it a scam. I get your point with H3O2 that’s not fully water (and you’re right). But tell me, where exactly am I scamming?
@@AntoineWalterDWW you got scammed into buying the book, and who knows what magic gadgets in the future.
I may disagree with you here: I've interviewed the author of the research (and the book), and there is legit science within that work. I'm not saying everything is legit science (he doesn't either, actually), but still, it's an interesting field, in my very humble opinion.
I stayed in s. korea and our office is close to that river they used it for lantern festival and other activities. So clean and beautiful!

I've been on the old highway many times (back in the 90's) before they built the steam. Anyways the new stream there is very nice.
There's another river which has been restored over in Nowon - it runs behind my uncle and auntie's home. Very peaceful and a lovely place for a walk.
Hey i've been interested in water stocks since 2 months ago when I found out that nx filtration (our company has worked with them in the past) was on the stock market, but since i've invested I keep checking the stock price multiple times a day. Even though I do think the value will raise in the long term I keep stressing myself out, any tips?
So first, let me use the well-known disclaimer: not investment advice 😅 But you're entirely right, value will raise in the long term with water stocks. But you really have to be in for the long haul, and you have to know what you've invested in with NX, a great, promising yet prospective company. Look at it as a kind of Venture stock market, slightly derisked compared to an early-early stage, but still with some risk inside. If you'd like to go deeper into the topic, I'm addressing NX and similar players in this video: ua-cam.com/video/Flen_vwx0kQ/v-deo.htmlsi=06myBRS_4kTIE-pE
