It is confusing why this is a debate - if someone receives a tax break for donations, the community should benefit from those donations in the same year. The language that we are 'ripping apart charitable sector' with this discussion is distracting to the issues felt by our overall income inequalities and tax subsidies given to the wealthy at the expense of the majority of people in the U.s.

The key point you are missing is this: the public benefit from the gift is the same whether the gift is spent today or tomorrow because the value of the gift grows over time.

@@alexanderreid6078 this view on philanthropy is outdated. The needs we have are urgent. While the funds are growing so is inflation and the divide between people with wealth and people struggling to make ends meet.

I have no idea what your main point is? If organizations want to donate and save taxes simultaneously, so be it. It is their money. Without wealth, many of us would be out of jobs. If you force payouts, then the money will go elsewhere. Maybe this is simplistic thinking, but you do not want to alienate those with the money.

Hello! At about 12:30 in the video, you mention and on a slide that wages that are paid from other sources, including PPP are not eligible wages for the ERTC. I understand the PPP loan forgiveness piece is excluded, as well as perhaps wages used for work opportunity credits and family medical leave, but I cannot find anywhere in the regulations that mentions other funding soources paying for payroll making that payroll ineligible. Can you share more specific information, regulations publications that express these limitations? The congressional act doesn't seem to mention other prohibitions. Thanks much!

Does anyone know if the Department of Education (DoE) do a review of our PSLF/TRPSLF application in addition to the review conducted by the federal loan servicer? I am so disappointed! I just received a letter from FedLoan Servicing stating I have to make between 80 to 100 additional payments to be eligible for forgiveness. I've been a public worker for over 15 years and have made full payments on time EVERY month by auto debit the entire time. THAT'S OVER 150 CONSECUTIVE FULL ON-TIME PAYMENTS WHILE WORKING FOR THE PUBLIC. I called the newly assigned federal servicer (FedLoan Servicing) to acquire about the discrepancy. They told that because I consolidated in 2017 (FFEL to Direct loan), they can only count payments since then because they cannot see any of my loan information prior to consolidation. The lady (who was very nice and pleasant) stated the Dept of Education can only see this information and the Department has some additional review they will be doing for TEPSLF. The representative told me I have to sit and be patient and wait to see the Department's results from their review. I've never heard of this additional more detailed review by the Department. I thought that's why the new Servicer was assigned. Has anyone heard of this? I am m scared to wait if this extra review doesn't happen automatically. The contact number on the DoE website sends me to the servicer.

I voted for Newsom, but am so disappointed in his policies, letting cities deteriorate with people living on the streets, letting people with mental illness live on the streets, dropping all accountability for criminal behavior leads many to the logical conclusion that we just need a new, responsive governor. The choice may be a democrat, OK with me, Most people I speak with, many democrats, all republicans, and almost all independents, want to see a new governor who will apply pragmatic, common sense to the above problems, the State of CA has 21 billion in the bank. The policies Newsom policies have facilitated many affluent people who would donate and support non-profits to leave the State of CA, which does not seem to help CA non-profits.

My lender won't help me. I have applied for a PPP loan with two lenders, how will SBA handle duplicate applications? Last updated March 1, 2021 One minute read If you have applied for a loan with multiple lenders in the same round, the SBA's system will accept the first valid application that arrives from a lender, and automatically reject subsequent ones. PPP loans in round two can be received from a lender different than the first round. If you have applied with multiple lenders and would like your application to be funded be one of them that is unable to advance your application further because of duplicate submissions, you must contact the lender whose application has been accepted by the SBA and request that they withdraw it.

I got email weeks ago saying application competed and I’m waitlisted after round one and no need to reapply. Then I get multiple emails saying application incomplete and deadline is today. But when I login it says everything is complete; I had made positively sure to upload everything properly even in round one. Lendistry even emailed me saying it was fine before emailing me saying it’s incomplete even though I never deleted or made any changes to anything. I made multiple calls to Lendistry to make sure, and somehow they figured out time reversal! because last week: my first attempt to call, the robot voice started off w “approximate wait time is 72 minutes” and then repeat every few minutes w updated times that grew LONGER as time went in ie 74min, then 77min, etc etc such that when I finally gave up after being on hold for an hour and my cell battery was dying, it was “approximate wait time is 93 minutes”. Tried again this morning and same exact thing. First initial estimated wait time is 27 minutes. I hold for 10 minutes as the wait time grew to 29, then 30, then 32 minutes. No choice by to give up. Very frustrating Lendistry!

As an application partner, CalNonprofits does not operate the Lendistry site, but we have been told that the most common reason for what you are experiencing is when you have multiple applications in the Lendistry system. Many people started but did not complete applications for various reasons. Please be sure to match the application numbers in your email communications to your completed application. If they don't match, you can ignore it.
