Ice and snow in cold temperatures are really hard on metal parts... as you found out... metal shrinks in cold weather. Bolts become loose when normally they don't. Lesson learned.. nobody hurt, adds to the adventure... thumbs up on your vlogs

So evidently the spring didn’t help me to avoid blowing up the collar gear…🤷🏼‍♂️…my question is will removing the spring possibly cause more problems…my logic says no BUT I’ve had a locked cable system that won’t allow it to move in any case which is why I feel my collar gear broke both times…rather than unlock like the factory system under a overload…

I recently learned that the spring in the locker also functions as an emergency release, when under to much bind to prevent braking…which happened to me both times after braking my portal gears…
