Dr. Burge claims to be thoroughly Biblical in his analysis, but he has a number of logical fallacies which are thoroughly “secular,” (some of which are fundamentally Marxist) and therefore, fundamentally flawed when trying to make his argument that he is a “Christian” scholar, trying to apply Biblical - Christian values to this issue. Fallacy #1 Dr. Burge argues that because the founders of Israel were “atheist,” “secular” Jews, that God could not have used them to re-establish a continuation of the Biblical nation of Israel. This is a false premise, and is totally unbiblical. God is sovereign, and He uses unbelievers, pagans and believers to achieve His purposes in the earth, regardless of whether you (Dr. Burge) consider them to be “worthy” or “unworhy” or to use your term, “faithful” to their original covenant with God. Your Fallacy #2, is that the so-called, “European” or as you say “Colonial” framework of military occupation of the West Bank, which created a “military” justice system, is somehow illegitimate, and therefore, unbiblical and unjust. This is an academic bias, which I am sure is axiomatic and passes for “fair and just” in the faculty lounge at Wheaton College, but is fundamentally Marxist in its approach. Under your “academic” bias, whatever comes from “European” concepts of civilization, social structure, justice or military conflict, is labeled as “colonial” and therefore, morally illegitimate. Instead the knee-jerk, Marxist tendency to dismiss European concepts of civilization, social structure, and justice as “colonial” and morally illegitimate Dr. Burge, why don’t you explain why or how these “European” concepts are unbiblical, instead of just assuming they are morally illegitimate? Perhaps after a few centuries of Christian thought, some Europeans, such as Augustine, Calvin, Luther, or Pascal, and Montesquieu stumbled on to just a few Biblical Concepts, and just because these concepts originated in Europe, they might be more “Biblical” than your knee-jerk, Marxist tendency to label them as “colonial” and therefore “illegitimate” or morally repugnant. Your Marxian construct is showing Dr. Burge! Those are just to two Fallacies or FALSE PREMISES, I identified after listening to Dr. Burge for about 35 minutes. His so-called, “Christian” analysis is deeply flawed because his arguments are based on false, unbiblical and left-wing biases, which he probably does not even see or admit. He should not be taken seriously by any true believer because of his unbiblical worldview. ''the dark ages'' weren't called that just for the fun of it , it's religion that made them dark , people are waking up and opening up their eyes and ears , and seeing what religion has done TO the world , not ''for the world'' , TO the world they live in , and their children america is considered one of the DUMBEST countries ... in the world , all Because of religion and what it has done to the people that live by it ... religious people are all sick ... sick in the head , and certainly sick in the heart , sick to the core of their being ... prisons are filled 85%+ with religious people , so does it really help anyone ? does it ? children come out of religious schools without any knowledge of the world they live in religious kids are getting pregnant and get all kinds of diseases , because they think that ''abstinence'' is the only sure way to not get pregnant and haven't been told any better , because ''god forbid'' , we wouldn't want them to know how a condom works or the pill , now , do we ... ? oh no ... !! it's countries like yours that make ME sick to my stomach and should be ABOLISHED and started over , without religion to mess it up , like it has done for these last couple of hundred years you religious people just make me sick and you should be ashamed of yourselfs , is THIS how ''god'' intended it ? mmh ? god's divine plan ? not teaching you children HOW to think for themselfs , only WHAT to think this world could have been such a lovely place , but then some nut job started looking to the sky for answers , while all he had to do was LIVE HIS LIFE LIFE is ''the guide TO life'' , not some antiquated pieces of parchment , that has absolutely nothing to even do with people of this day and age you don't need a ''god'' to tell you not to steal , you learn that in kinder garden , when you get slapped on the head by the kid you just stole his toys from people don't need an ancient book to tell them not to kill anyone , you learn that from the society you live in , from your parents ... or you'll sit in a jail cell for the rest of your life in England most people don't go to church anymore , but over there ... you can walk down a dark ally without getting robbed and raped every minute of the day .... what does that tell you ? even police don't carry guns anymore in their country , why is that ? they've given up on religion and look how they live their lives , just fine and without worries to get killed by a stray bullet hitting them or their children religion has DESTROYED this world , and the people in it , and this needs to STOP , right now !! before it's to late , people need to take responsibility for THEMSELFS , take back some pride in their lives , for the things they've achieved and not just give away that accomplishment to their imagined deity in their heads , that's were ''god'' lives , in people's heads , why ? because there's absolutely nothing else in there , that should BE there ... words like : respect , dignity , a sense of self , MORALITY ... these are all words a religious person will NEVER EVER understand , not in the REAL sense of the words , ever you are all doomed beyond belief and a lot of people are waking up to this little notion , isn't it time you woke up too ? people needed ''gods'' to explain the world around them , not knowing where the lightning came from , thinking it was Zeus that was mad at them we don't anymore , neither do you , do you ? why not ? did you actually ''learn'' something ? why isn't it Zeus that's throwing those lightning bolts ? why ? wake the hell up and wake up your family , your neighborhood , your country , wake up the world ...do something productive with your life , instead of wasting away in that chair , ffs
