Sony A6000 Disassembly
Переглядів 78 тис.7 років тому
A complete step by step disassembly of the Sony A6000 camera, after it was dropped in the water and dried in rice for two weeks. I decided to disassemble and repair instead of buying a new Sony A6000. The lens wasn't focusing so I figured I needed a replacement lens connector. it worked! The electronic viewfinder was working but the LCD wasn't. Made the mistake of replacing the LCD, the problem...

Summer Camping on Islet Lake in Algonquin Park
Really nifty editing! Hope you enjoyed your time here
Thanks! It was such a cool place.
Я даже не мог представить сколько шлейфов в моей камере и как там все плотно собрано. Я бы наверное не смог обратно собрать
No wonder it overheats so much. They just use thick film to dissipate it
Wait, so there's no mirror in front of sensor? Is there any problem if I accidentally touch it?
Extremely sorry to bother you . ,I noted the rates and the required information.
Looks like very fine and convenient too. Could you kindly let us know the room charges, too.
Hey man, first of all thanks for the video, it's been of great help already! Would you mind explaining how to get the connector you removed at 3:15 back in? Thanks!
i loved Hakone but wasn't able to actually explore around because of weather and time. Great vlog!!
Thanks! Aww that sucks! Too bad the weather didn't cooperate. I guess we got lucky 🍀
Mr. Wong, EXCELLENT VIDEO. You laid out everything precisely in order. I'm thinking of doing the same as you did by getting a A6000 from Ebay too. The one I'm looking at, the camera doesn't power up. What could be the issue?
Hello! I've an issue when my camera is taking videos but when I try to take photos - it takes the photo but it gives me the same error "Camera error. Turn power off then on." I tried your repair - I bought of aliexpress the spare part "Shutter drive motor assy repair part" only the "motor" without the whole shutter. What do you think could be the issue? Should I be the whole shutter part or does the problem lie elsewhere?
Thanks, this helped me a lot in my sensor module replacement.
Thank you for putting so much effort into making this video.
My pleasure!
Any idea where the Internal rechargeable battery is located?
my pop up flash didn't work, so i took it apart when in the middle of doing that my flash cable flex broke and there's a tiny spark of light electricity coming off at the broken cable point, and now my a6000 is dead, I've done everything and my a6000 still not boot up, I've done some troubleshooting and couldn't find the problem, can u give youre opinion sir, what should i change? or maybe my motherboard was fried? or something else?? thx in advance nice simple straightforward video u got there btw
Thanks for your video, I have repaired my battery door successfully.
dude thx for the vid saved my ass need to replace the low pass filter daaaang
i just wanna know if i can replace the battery door without too much tear down.
I got two big shocks from the flash cap! But my screen was successfully replaced. Let the camera sit for a while without the battery in it
Big thanks
When I see these teardowns, I wonder why cameras are so expensive
Nice, thanks
My microphone makes beeping noises when filming, want to relocate the microphone, but ... thanks for this video
мдаа ну теперь понятно почему он так быстро перегревается 5000 и то лучше
My A6000 won't tunrn on anymore :(
Sorry to hear that. Before opening the camera, try replacing the battery first
Hi, any chance to show me the whereabout is on pcb, the "internal" back up capacitor or battery? the numbers? Becauseof battery drain even camera turned off, I remove it, and some years now, found it wouldn't keep date and time when changing battery, it goes back to its release date setting. But date format I set is kept, and as well the other settings if I am correct. fyi: I have since updated the firmware, and followed some suggestions to charge via USB and or to leave a fully-charged battery in-camera, didn't change anything.
That gold piece with 3 holes you wonder about in the video is a bushing that fits at the bottom when you get to the shutter assembly. There's a copper one with 4 holes on the top left next to the shutter as well. The bigger hole goes to the left and the two smaller holes to the right. The flat side faces upward.
🤣🤣🤣 mystery solved, thank you! I've always wondered about that for forever years ago!
@@KevinToronto Well you helped me a ton with this even if you skipped over certain tricky ribbon cable disconnections so thanks so much. I would pay good money for the re-assembly version of this video BTW 😅 PS: The Level 2 service manual you can find online has super helpful screw location schematics and even precise bushing locations if you're ever tempted to do this again, it shows the copper and gold bushings, AFAIK for heat dissipation and transfer.
Brilliant Video! I had to replace the LCD screen and the attached hinge assembly. This involved stripping down to 3.25 in your video. To assure that I re-assembled correctly I laid a strip of Sellotape out flat, sticky side up, like a fly paper, and stuck each screw onto it in the order that I removed them. Then I was able to refer to your video in reverse and ensure the right screws went into the right holes. The result, a perfectly repaired A6000. many thanks!
Dude, big brain!!!!🧠🧠🧠🧠
Тварь не показал как снять дорожки
Can you tell the approximate weights of the major components like grip, view finder, lcd etc
Hi Kevin. Could you please answer this? Can Sony E Mount be put onto the Sony ZV1 camera?
It doesn't appear ZV1 can use e-mount lens
Thanks for this. That yellowish plastic piece with the 3 holes and the ??? marks at 7:57 can be seen inside the bottom of the camera when you pull out the sensor at 7:44. It just fell out when you turned the body over.
Nice. Now putting it all back toghether is (as we all know) where the fun starts :D
Are the screws ALL the same size, or do i have to take care which one i removed frome where to reapply it in the correct order?
Good question. The body screws I believe were all the same. I can't remember if the internal ones were the same. In any case, I recommend separating them during dissembly and taking note where they came from
And when u put it back you have 4 extra screw’s
hello Kevin, i have a sony a6300 and had some dust on my sensor and used the swab kit to clean it but there's a spot left in the sensor which can't be cleaned please help me to figure out what to do furhter
good luck to put all this back :D
my a6000 LCD does not turn on after disassembling and assembling it back. Everything else works just fine. What could be the issue?
great video, I have a question, i broke tge battery door on my a6000, this is the only video remotely close to finding out how, do i have disassemble to the 6:00 min point to replace the battery door? Or is there an easier way? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Hi Kevin, do you remember if it is possible to change the battery door after removing the bezel around the display? Thanks a lot, great video
Pretty comprehensive video, missed out a couple of minor steps when disconnecting wires and a screw by the view finder, but overall really good! I followed as I needed to replace my shutter as it got some sand inside and stopped working, but as I almost finished I realized the chances of me assembling it again and it working was gong to be slim, and my time was best spent on other tasks. So I cut my losses and put it in the trash. Good a6000 visited around 15 counties with me, been through all kinds of elements and adventures and has been a solid companion but after almost 10 years, time to say goodbye.
RIP2021 A6000. Gone but never forgotten
I own a Sony a7r VI with a Sony 24-70 gm lens. Why is it that when I use AF-C to shoot. The camera lags a bit when I want to rapid shoot on single shot option? I tried everything from changing around the settings but it only made a slight difference on the speed performance. I even switched sd cards and nothing. I tested my lens with Sony and it's fine. I have the latest firmware and nothing...... Can anyone help me please
Thanks for the super nice video! I have to replace my alphas viewfinder lcd. Is it possible without taking out the mainboard or do I have to do a full disassembly? Thanks a lot for your help!
is it canon for exterior? sony for interior?
Yes that's correct
Hi, can the battery chamber door be removed from the frame?
Now I can fix that accursed stuck shutter button that won't let the camera buttons work 😡
Great video. After shutter curtain replacement will need some calibration? Many thanks.
Thanks for recording this! There's an overheat-mitigation mod that involves replacing the black plastic shield at 3:24 with a silicone thermal pad and proper heat spreader, and this video will be very helpful for me to perform that mod.
Did you do it? How’d it go?
this setup would go almost for canon as well right ?
Thumbs up if you got shocked by the high voltage flash capacitor!
