Paris Room Tour: What a REAL chambre de bonne looks like!
Переглядів 120 тис.3 роки тому
✨Hey there and welcome to my channel!✨ My name is Francesca, I'm a British 20-something currently based in Paris for my Master's degree. Everyone seems to have been obsessed with Emily in Paris on Netflix, and it’s sparked huge debate and criticism for a lot of it’s stereotypes! One thing that made me laugh was her “chambre de bonne” apartment- which it definitely isn’t! I live in one of these ...

This is the biggest chambre de bonne ever. Definitely not typical or educational for people who are interested in living in those studios. However, it definitely gives Emily in Paris/Friends vibes. You are very lucky.

Thank you for sharing , years ago the room was included with the salary of the employee de maison . Non the employeur did not expect the employee to watch their home (not in my experience) The room was adequate a bed , a table and a vinyl clothing rack. The only ithem that I did find useful was a black and white television for watching “Dallas” on Friday nights (Yes I’am an elderly:-) The week-end were spent discovery our capital which needed lot of help and even more so today . To think that it was a pastoral environment ….. They forgot that we all are sheeps in great need of The Shepherd ! May you have a good stay in Paris

    1) Love the apartment! 2) I couldn't understand half of what you said - especially at 900 words per minute. 3) Why do so many posters feel the need to name off their items that are in plain view and clothes in and out of ward robes?? Honestly - curious. Any answers??

Hi! I'm so happy to discover this video. I saw your apartment tour first and absolutely loved it. I will be moving to Paris this fall and found myself stuck on the proof of accommodation portion for my visa process. It's been such a contradiction to try to secure housing without a visa and vice-versa, so it makes a lot more sense that showing temporary housing or housing with a friend will suffice just to get the visa process completed. I'm so looking forward to exploring Paris and I appreciate your insight!

I'm retired and my goal is to live in France. I'm also interested in working there. I have 2 master's degrees, neither of which is in English or French. I'd like to teach English in France. After I take a 4-week course from TEFL, I'll be certified to teach English in France. But in order to do so, I must have a student visa, which allows me to teach in France part time, but also requires that I take French language courses. I wonder if there are alternatives to this path. For example, I think that after 3 years in France, after gaining a permanent residency visa, all restrictions are dropped, so that I can teach English without taking language courses. Thanks for you help.

I would put the chair over the wifi box and put your laundry where the chair is. More out of sight when u walk in the door! You can buy window frosting in a roll it would work perfect in the bathroom. Buy some command hooks to hang curtains!!

Centrakor has frosty glass sticker sheets for your bathroom window (and doors), and (as everything in that store) light weight curtain rods and narrow sheer curtains for your window, easily for under €20 for all 👍🏻 Love that store 😃 How much does one pay for such apartment in Paris, if I may ask (even a range)?

In Germany are every flat/Appartement a bright room and is isolated by noises - also the windows. Nobody is hearing your own neighbour and its calm in your home. The most small Appartements are 45m2 to 75m2.

It’s always so frustrating when you have all of your “one off” costs during the same week! Like when bulk items or skincare all run out at the same time!! Feels hard to watch that $ leave. I’m so jealous of all of the bakeries that you have, with delicious and inexpensive treats. I’m in the US and I don’t have many near me (walking distance) in my city.
