Hello friends! I love all things spicy, and it was only a matter of time before I made my own hot honey! Planting Heritage Strawberries! (and an embarrassing mistake)
Переглядів 1002 місяці тому
Hello! This is some strawberry planting shenanigans from earlier this year! It took me a bit to edit, and after a bit of burnout, I finally got it done! The Strawberries came from one of my grandmother's friends, and the main bushes are believed to have been growing for nearly 100 years! We are excited to see how they turn out! As much as I’d planned, I got really discouraged and waited far longer than I’d hoped to start my herbs. But! It’s not too late!!! Just plant them! #garden #homestead #herbalism #herbs #seedplanting #motivation

Here’s the list of what herbs I’m growing in 2024, and some reasons why! As I continue to study herbalism I’m always ready to find new herbs to grow and use. Wild lettuce harvest and tincture making
Thank you! I have been struggling to get back to learning this helped a lot! :)
😂😂😂every now and then I have to hear this song and you killed it !
The youtube algorithm has done me right by sending me to this channel! Easy sub. We got our first hard freeze last week here in southern Missouri. All cold weather plants from now until the end of April. Where are you growing?
@@HabitualHobbies Hello hello! We’re in deep in the south, so the growing season is eons, if you can make it past the heat! We’re officially in our cold season now, though!
@thehomegrownartist ahh yes, I do understand the mud-summer heat struggle! Here in Missouri, the weather gets chokingly hot in the summer and pretty cold in the winter. So both extremes at different times, haha. Sending good vibes for you and your garden this winter!
Wow, so many blooms! Thank for sharing!
@@KokoraLife the flowers and blooms are so pretty!! Thank you for watching!
Love your voice and love your garden Thanks
@@user-um4bb6mo7j awwww thank you!!
Does the garden have a name?
❤❤❤
You make me want to start a garden in the spring. It’s all so pretty and peaceful ❤
@@XennialAndAPuppyyy DO IT!!! I won’t lie, it’s hard work. There a lot of moments that don’t feel pretty or peaceful, but there are even more moments that are so fulfilling! Even if it’s small, do it!! ❤️
@ ok! I will definitely try a least a few seeds!
Bama is feeling rather chilly tonight! Loved the video ❤
Glad you got your peppers in before the freeze. We keep getting down to around 37 degrees, so maybe we get a frost, maybe not. I am growing some micro dwarf tomatoes in one gallon pots that I will bring in when temperatures gets down to freezing. We only get a handful of freezing temps so I will just move them in and out. They only get around 8 to 18 inches high, hope to have home grown tomatoes for Christmas.
I watched entire video trying to process the idea of hot honey and still processing.
It seems like an odd concept, but it is such a treat! A little bit of spicy and a little bit of sweet is a surprisingly good combo!
@@thehomegrownartist I thought the sweet and spice combo only applied to other humans and chinese food though? I'm probably not the person who can understand because I avoid 99% of spicy foods and my idea of spice is black pepper.
Thanks for sharing this! 🌿
Thank you for watching!
Great preparation! I don't ferment my hot honey. I just steep chopped bird's eye peppers in warmed (but not boiled) honey. Let it sit for an hour or so and strain out the chilis.
@@sdega315 oooh I’ll have to try that!! Is there a specific temperature you warm it to?
Instructions very clear. Moving to Romania to start sheep farm
@@xpertcerb sounds like the perfect plan!! Glad I could help 😁
I make a tea out of elderberry, lemon balm and honey every morning, I love it! So does my little dog! LOL
Honestly, me and my son have been shot over 150 videos, never lost one. Saw your video, and the very next video he hits the wrong button and shoots the entire video on slo mo. He did not see your video. Hope your strawberries do better. They have been the one fruit that is supposed to be easy that I have never had luck with. I might try them again in a green stalk next year.
@@growyourownfood7814 oh my goodness I feel like I brought that bad luck to y’all 😂 We tried some strawberries in one of our green stalks and they did pretty well!! Grew all year with not a lot of attention (because we forgot about them) so that might work better!
Are we going to ignore the "bus" in the room?
@@crate2819 😂😂 The bus is my favourite kind of shrub
@@thehomegrownartist You know how many van life UA-camrs are losing their minds right now? That's a mansion to them! LOL
@@crate2819 🤣🤣 lolol that’s prime real estate right there
@@thehomegrownartist I can see it now, from the home grown artist to the mansion on wheels artist. Hollywood writers couldn't dream of writing such a great coming of age story and you're out here actually living it. Bravo.
So many potatoes!! Very cool.
Your voice sounds like Birdie :)
What a beautiful life you have created! Thank you for sharing.
Great place for someone to start the herbalism journey!
A super, informative video! I've just bought the Pocket 2 :)
Ur so underrated
good harvest. great video
This is the video that made me subscribe ❤
you are kind of woman i would like spend my life together until end.
Thank You for this information, very helpfully especially the great ETSY find. Appreciated
It's a great privilege coming across your UA-cam channel Odogwuherbalhome. You have always been there for me health wise. I can vividly remember how you turned up for me when I was down with Herpes virus. Your contribution and care was highly appreciated. You are the best doctor I have ever come across. Thank you so much for the difference you make in the lives of your patients! Your kindness, sincere caring, and concern make everything better and are a great encouragement
This was so inspiring ❤ I’m just starting the vision for my channel and your video helps me want to keep going. I haven’t posted my first real “UA-camr” video yet, just a video for my art classmates. Your videos are so pretty and i like the vibe you have. Authentic and warm. ❤ great job! 👏
Wow ❤ beautiful voice and lyrics
I’ve been really getting into herbalism and holistic medicine for a few months so this video is so helpful thank you❤
This video is so relaxing to watch omg
Chickens and raised beds do not mix well. I have pineapple mint, chocolate mint and orange mint. The chocolate and orange mint are invasive. I put them in their own container since they would end up taking over the entire container anyway. My wife likes to make tea with them.
They don't mix well at all 😂This is my first year to have pineapple mint, and it's not enough yet to have a big harvest. My chocolate mint died back a little from the drought and is still recovering. Mint tea is one of my favourites!
😅😅 true
When your garden actually works with regards too earthworms!! Nice potatoes too!!
well explained. Does your camera have the STORY and HDRvideo on the camera? I don't have these settings on mine, but see them on older (3yr old+) reviews.
You deserve so much more support. Interesting what you tell us all
Put cardboard down in your garden after you do your harvest and put a little dirt on it and wet it down earth worms love it. Keep it moist.
Tysm! Bless you❤
Just bought this one today to start my vlogging content. Super excited. Thanks for the video 😊
I got ate up by ants trying to harvest my potatoes too! Ugh!
Yes it is
Amazing harvest,I just did a couple of harvest also.. New friend here from Growing My Own.
Hello! Harvesting is so much fun! :)
I enjoy digging potatoes unless I have to fight fire ants or rotten potatoes due to excessive rain. I use an organic pesticide called come and get it that is labeled for vegetable gardens. Spinosad is the active ingredient. You made a good crop.
What kind of cherry trees?
One day you’ll fall through into a giant ant mound and it’ll be like a movie. 😅😂
That hen lantern is so pretty.
That’s great! People need an honest review
Heidi Villegas course at healing harvest is awesome. You have lifelong access to materials, student groups and you can do a certification course that does not cost an arm and a leg. The best information I came across looking at different courses. You can do the course at your own pace and she also have payment plans available
That’s amazing!! I’ll check that out, thank you so much! 😁
