@@senateHouseConference Hi. I need a little more details about what is you setup in the pixels ports. What is the sequence trying to do? How many pixels do you have setup on those ports you are using? The flickering usually is problem with data. Check you data cable to be well connected.

@@jeremychambers8736 Hi Jeremy, not pre-address. Since they are in a string of lights, xlights knows it’s position on that string based on a model. As an example, the left eye of the light bulb is made of pixel 100 to 115 and the right eye may be 116 to 121. That’s how they know the color and effects.

@@chevaughters4242 You can have two or more matrixes as group them to create a larger one. If you want more definition then you can to 1 inch per pixel or you can do P10 or P5 panels, but that’s another hardware and setup.

@@trevilights That's great to hear. When you connect the two panels together does it still leave the 1.125in spacing in between panels? Also, can you attach the 4x8 panel to a frame and hang it to display it? Thank you for your help.

@@chevaughters4242 I have the matrix on a frame made of 2x2 and it works okay. Now, if you want to join two matrixes you may need to trim some of the plastic material so make them fit and get a one inch separation. You may be better off looking to see if anyone else sells a larger matrix. Keep in mind the number of port you may need to run a larger matrix and the number of power injection points. Big project.

@@trevilights Yes, it would be a really big project down the road. The number of ports for 2 matrix's would be 8 I believe. I was planning on dedicating an control board to the large project. As far as the power injection ports I am at a loss for that.

Hi There. That's the best way to start. Something small to play around and learn. For the singing elements, I recommend boscoyostudio.com. Now for a controller, there are a few options. I like Kulp controllers over Falcon; both will do okay. You can buy the board only and then you can buy the enclosure, power supplies, etc. and build it your self., Or get a Kit (all included, but assemby is required) or a Ready-To-Run controller. It all depends how much you want to spend. You can also buy prebuilt extension cords or build them yourself to the required length. As you can see, there are options.

Pude configurar un módulo ESP32 pero me soporta 1000 pixeles y el árbol tienen 1650, puedo poner otro controlador ESP 32 que actúe a continuación del pixel 1000 en un solo árbol?, estuve tratando pero me funcionó partiendo el árbol a la mitad en el diseño, pero algunos efectos no se logran 🥹 agradezco tu ayuda 💪

Hi There. Back then, my tree was about 20ft from my controller. Right now I have a different setup using a smart receiver. 40ft is way to far to be sending data across a wire, but fuses should not been blown for this reason. Are you doing some sort of power injection? Fuses go bad when the wire over heats.

@trevilights no power injection as of now just trying to get them working at the moment, maybe my solder joints are bad. The distance is an issue though I wonder how people do their entire house I’m only trying to run a mega tree

@@matthewrobins1360 We try to keep the distance as short as possible. For long runs we use a smart receiver (see below) that connect to the main controller using an ethernet cable. This ethernet cable can be as long as 200ft. From the smart receiver, let's use the Srx1 as an example, you have 4 ports of 1024 pixels each. People put one of this on the roof, and then connect all the roof lines to it. a Smart receiver uses it's own power supply which power the board and all the pixels. Now, if you have a long extension, let's say 40ft, you can use a F-Amp in the middle of the string. This will boost the data signal so it reaches to the other end. It does not boost the voltage, just the data. It all depends where you place your controller. I have it on my garage were there is no network connection, so my only option is Wifi. If you have a nearby wired connection to your local network, then it is not needed. Thanks for watching.

Hi. xLights takes care of the this automatically and port are assigned in sequence. I do not know if there is an option to manually assign ports on a tree element. Why do you need those specific ports? Can't you just move other elements around the ports? Keep your setup as simple as possible. TIP: If you go to xlights.org website, there is link to a free Zoom meeting room. There is always someone there willing to help. Just raise your hand and wait for your turn to speak. Be ready to show your screen.

@@trevilights Hi Trevi, Yes, all my outputs & channels seem to be auto updated between Xlights and FPP player and they are correct. I discovered today that i needed to click on the "render all" button in Xlights to update the new panel(s) that i connected. Today i now have 4 of these led panels connected in a 128x8 configuration (the full 1024 pixels on 1 port) and my text is now scrolling across the whole 4 panels. ;-) My next challenge is to arrange the 4 panels into a 64x16 display, i think i just need to change my rows from 8 to 16, but the way these matrix are wired, maybe i might have to connect them across 2 different ports? I will experiment and probably lose a lot of sleep.... Thanks always for your educational videos, i've been watching them for 2 years now.
