Hey everybody, I'm Glenn here in North Carolina near Charlotte. This channel is going to be my fishing log targeting Big Blue and Flathead Catfish. I'm going to video my fishing trips and talk about locations, time of year, weather, water conditions and bait. I will be honest about what I'm catching or not catching. I want to share with you as I learn to target big catfish and hope you will subscribe and comment your tips and suggestions, all help will be greatly appreciated.
I'll also be sharing my love of the sport with my family at times and may do other fishing adventures from time to time.

5/5/2021 I took a subscriber friend with me today and had a great day. He was on the pigs today. We were the Catawba river Lake Wyile North Carolina. Take a friend fishing, it'll be a great day no matter how the bite is. God Bless everyone I hope you enjoy the video!

9/22/20 I got a late start because I could not find the bait ( white perch ). Fishing started slow but after changing directions it really picked up!

How I Diagnosed And Changed a Bad Coil Pack
If you haven’t done so already and are still on the original spark plug cables, replace the cables. You can also get an inexpensive inline spark tester that is safer than holding the plug cable end by hand up near a bolt while testing for spark. Glad you got it diagnosed and fixed.
An easier test is while it is running, unplug power to each coil one at a time. If the motor doesn't change, that's your bad coil. If it's good, the loss of spark will stall the motor.

Yes it's a piece of crap. I took it back and said I mounted it right side up, upside down and said I looked it up and found it to be a bad product. I said I didn't want to drill it out which might make it but if it didn't you might not take it back. I can't believe Minkota would sell such a shitty product. I probably spent two hours trying to get the bars to go in correctly.
I bought one and got it mounted to my motor and went to test fit it before mounting the base plate. Tried all kinds of things and if its mounted to the motor the bars don't go into the bracket. Didn't want to drill the heck out of it because I'm sure they won't take it back. I'm hoping they will take it back at Sportsmans warehouse because I ripped the box and opened all the nuts and bolts package. Sooo disappointed.
Yea I hated I had to drill mine out, even though I didn’t have to drill it to much, things should be made to fit the way they are supposed to. I hope you can get your money back.
Thank you for sharing, Mr. Glenn... that's just what I need it, a quick release bracket. My Minn Kota Powerdrive Trolling Motor, should get here this week. I had no idea wow to mounted on my Sun Tracker DLX 22! 🐟🎣
don't get the bracket described above. It's a piece of crap. Get the metal slide in one with the wing nut on the side. I have my minkota mounted to this on and it works great and it's easy to use. The only reason I bought and returned the one listed above was becauses it was the only one Sportsman's warehouse had. I got the slide in bracket at cabellas. I will post the bracket number/model in a little while..

How is the RINDAS diagnostic system connected to the mercury 90hp optimax for a test? I am having a problem with my engine. very good video
I’m not familiar with any diagnostic test, I just traced it down seeing how it wasn’t firing properly.

I don’t have any gauges that tell me that. It would have made things a little easier.

You know I appreciate you watching but even though I ain’t crazy about how our government does things sometimes I see that flag and anthem as the freedom we have here thanks to our men and women who fought and died for our country. I hope maybe you can see it that way as well.
SS washer didn’t go in on the prop ?
I thought if one pack was out none of the cylinders got spark
I have a coil pack per cylinder so yes the other cylinders do fire even though one does not.

thanks for the video.. i would like to ask you what problem did it Create and replace it..?? Sometimes it doesn't go above 3000 rpm for me..! It's like it's running out of fuel...
What mine did was it ran real rough and would not go past a slow trolling speed. It didn’t cut off but just seemed like the plugs were not firing. You can check yours to see if they are firing like I did in my video. Check your fuel filter and fuel lines if the coils are firing. Good luck with it.
The base plate, did you just drill em straight down? Or is there nuts on the bottom?

Thanks for this!! Im going through the exact same thing. Checked spark plugs first then moved onto fuel filters etc. your diagnosis sounds EXACTLY like what I’m dealing with. Hoping this fixes my issue also.

I was wondering why the bracket wouldn’t line up in the puck! I had the same issue but no one told me that I would have to reconfigure the holes to line up with the locking bracket. Thanks for explaining that.

Any idea how I can lay my hands on the template (the one you clamped down before drilling) used to make sure the quick release bracket sits back far enough from the frond edge of my pontoon. My brother in law gave me his Terrova motor with the bracket when he changed and I need to mount it on my old fishing pontoon. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Just curious. I’m learning mechanics of an outboard the hard way. When that cylinder wasn’t firing did you notice unburnt fuel left in cylinder?

What exactly do the planer boards do? And how far back do you drag them
Larry they spread your lines out away from the boat when you’re dragging baits. You can use 2 or 3 on each side of the boat to get your baits spread out covering more water. I run 1 set out about 50 yards and 1 at about 25 yards behind the boat on each side. Hope that helps and thanks for watching.

I’m just now gearing up to try my luck at catfishing. Normally I fish for striper, hybrids and smallmouth. I definitely enjoy trolling more than anything. Just curious if you are dragging on ledges in this video and if so, is that your favorite structure for this type of fishing?
Hey Terry I do like dragging the ledges when the fish seem to be in the deeper water. I run 2 sets of planers now to get a bigger spread. I really like trying to drag the middle of the ledge that way one side of the boat is dragging deeper and the other dragging more towards the the shallower side of the ledge. Also dragging the large flats does well for me at times. I hope that helps you some if you have any more questions fill free to ask and thanks for watching!!!
