The KLR is an antiquated turd. Worst bike I have owned in my 50 years of riding.. RUN AWAY!!!
North side wichita resident here. Go to el chapulin on 30th and north Broadway and go to the red food truck on 25th and Arkansas next to soto tire called vago tacos. Trust me
Sir i have xt 225 kick start onnly model but engine is completely gone i also have a brand new engine of honda xr 150l what's it's torque specs as compared to xt ? will i be able to climb hill ass good as xt 225 engine
A class motocrosser. Had a gen1. It went everywhere it was not supposed to be, yes it jumps, rails berms and do enduro. Just buy it
Is this bike 3100 out the door or does that include fees and what not?
You can also invest into a storm DLX 150. Much lighter in weight. But either one of them are fast enough for the road.
Fantastic music, fantastic riding, new fan
I had a 2008 KLR 650 for 37,000 miles. I rode from San Diego to the Canadian Rockies and all of the states west of Colorado with that motorcycle. It is very reliable and I never did the Doohickey modification. If the engine is cold, and you’re above 7000 feet and it’s 32° you will have troubles starting the KLR. This only happened twice, in years of ownership, and it was easily remedied with a push start. My biggest complaint is engine oil consumption. On long trips, I always carried at least a quart of oil and found a motorcycle shop when I needed more oil. The electrical system puts out enough power to run an electric jacket and gloves. There’s nothing like riding through the Rocky Mountains on a cold morning and being toasty warm. I highly recommend the KLR 650 it’s definitely the best bang for your buck.
So wouldn’t a xsr700 be a better comparison
Lots of good used ones put there with all the options.
Yes best choice I made I have a 2023
Definitely would love to get my hands on a klr and get to exploring! Great vid keep it up 👍
Man, cheap DS bikes are so great. Fun to push as you cant really lose your licence easily, more reliable than a tank and can ride anywhere... twisties, offroad, anything
No way in hell would I buy a vehicle that is a must return to dealer to have it serviced. I was looking into Triumphs but never now. LAF.
This video is circa 2024.
had a factory recall for the sensor related to the lag. Dealer did the work and now my Trident is great. 2022 model w/ Zard full exhaust.
Excellent
I had one of these. Very fun bike. I regret selling it.
I can see the editing getting better and better, and I'm here for it 💯💯
New headlight designed
Mÿ 2024 xr150l was $3800 out the door . Great bike for what it is
Perhaps if it were a 250.
I have a silly question , How is the clutch lever pull like soft or hard i broke my 2 fore fingers lol just wondering and good review !
Pretty soft considering it’s cable. def makes up for the XR name in that sense
@@fernandocdl1968 Thank you !
Got mine last week, go for my license in the next two. There is parts available at Honda Philippines to add the kick start back and give you that extra advantage. I think I just joined the "Lucky Bucks" club, havin' a blast. Roads here are'nt that great either! ( Baltimore County)
Came for the bike. Stayed for the review.
Do you think i could rock this at 6'1"? Thanks for the video
yup
I am 5'11, and 250, and bike performs exceptional for the size.
I am your height, had one of these, and it was perfectly fine. I sold the bike and regretted it immediately.
Love mine. Wish it was a 200cc for 60 plus mph ability improvement. I see some people are turning them into cafe racer or scrambler styled bikes. Would love to do that with mine
Lots of people on the south America and the Philippines are converting them into cafe racers. No clue how todo it but would love to get it done
This bike reminds me of Yamaha's XT125 from '82 or so. Compared, im sure the XT would win. But i'd still buy the XR.
Started on an MT07 and the most decisive things were price, ease of service, as any mechanic and their dog can fix a Yamaha and the fact that this was still a very new model at the time, which comes with teething problems.
Lucky buck! I'm jealous, gotta get one!
I love that laggy throttle. So easy to start and perfect for euro city riding.
First of all air cooled engine doesn't have a temperature gauge. I can cruise At 55 all day long. 86. Mpg 😊
Oh yeah I did not even think about it being air cooled! That makes sense! Such a fun, capable little bike. I'm super happy I got an opportunity to ride one.
It’s pretty easy to add a temp gauge and an rpm gauge.
I luv my XR150L, had it a few months now, and I got a Honda Ruckus for my brother and it's more fun to ride. I recommend both, let's ride
I love mine too, it’s awesome for sure especially with a BBK!!
I like the video. Thank you for covering this!
I think that the 2.8 gallons makes for a good range on a 150cc bike. Also, if a 50mph cruising speed is inadequate then you need a bigger bike. I have mine setup just like the one in the video and it is a very capable on/off machine that is great on the back of my camper. My first street legal bike was a 1971 Honda Sl125 and this is the modern version, a bit heavier but also a bit more sophisticated with the suspension and front disc brake. It's good to buy a bike that has been proven for many years on the 3rd world market.
I want to make mine look similar to an older SL.
Great bike I ride mine every day to work…. Only complaint sometimes it givesme a hard time to go into 1st or neutral…
fun bike. too bad the sport 660 has such a hi seat; and even higher panneir seat ! lucklily 3rd party useable seats are out there.
2500 miles is not any kind of long term...
I have owned sport bikes and this is the best bang for buck put there i have owned. It has many of the 675 characteristics in the twisties, and honestly is more fun because you can use 100% of the throttle 95% of the time on twisty rds. The 675 was faster but required way more care and that stops being fun. This bike is more fun than a sport bike just slower. It will run 12.1 in quarter mile or high 11s with perfect launch but that is not the purpose of the bike. This is a bike you can drive like an idiot and not have to worry as much about dying!
Flash the ecu and get rid of the lag in the throttle. BT Moto handheld tuner look them up they are pricey but we'll worth the tune. It literally makes the tt660cc a different motorcycle
Tuneecu will reset the service clock. Just using the app wont hurt the bike, maybe remapping might. You can set service, test fan , test prime, monitor throttle bodies. Its pretty cool.
I love TuneECU. I flashed a map that eliminates the throttle lag and it woke this bike up! Now I have that map as "Road" and moved the old road map to "Rain". It's perfect for my riding style. 👍
I will be your 32 nd sub 😊
I thought I recognized that bike! Lol
What would be your opinion , if i am thinking of it as my 1st bike basically for city ride but i want that feel of a sportsbike plus rare overspeeding with a decent mileage
If you are considering as a daily rider, I would recommend something a little bigger with more room and comfort. As a first bike I wouldn't recommend it either just because it's a bit of power and it's a tad on the pricey side of you lay it down or anything like that. Now ultimately that's up to YOU and what you know you can handle. Some people are more responsible than others. Most guys under 35 I'd probably recommend a 400 or something like that. There is plenty of awesome beginner sport bikes out there as well. I hope I gave you somewhat of an answer.
@@ikerzzzzz thanks brother appreciate it

So much amazing history out there in Kansas! Those dugouts were awesome!
