188th Day. I moved to Sydney from Brisbane finally!
I post videos to improve my English skills and preserve memory. You can see improvement of my English language skills.
I came to Australia on 6th April 2024.
I'm going to stay here for 1 year with Working Holiday visa.
I'm a Japanese uni student.
I took a vacation for 1 year.
I know there isn't lots of demand for my videos without editing.
But I don't care about it.
I'll do it everyday for my speaking skill and memory.
I know that sometimes there are mistakes in my English and it can be difficult to understand.
Please correct my English! It's so helpful

awesome! I've been learning chinese for a while, but I want to learn japanese next ... your english is very good! of course, maybe you can annunciate some letters more, such as in "australian", "owner", and sometimes the 'd' in "should", but you are correct most of the time. ❤❤

Just checking in on your progess. You are sounding good! Quick tip: around 3:30 you use the words unfathomable and prudent. These are advanced words that are used in more formal contexts. Using them in an informal way like this can sound a little strange.

I am sure if you are determined you will find the job in Sydney.Just remember you came all the way from your home country and adapted to new one. So its a small step to move to another city. Maybe in Sydney you can also search for meet up possibilities to make Australian friends. Just by briefly looking on line I found this one in Sydney: Sydney Tomonkai A group that includes Japanese students, expats, and permanent residents, who meet for social gatherings, golf competitions, and Waseda-Keio games You can do it! Cheers

Hi! I remember watching one of your videos a couple of months ago, and I noticed you've changed your channel name. I know it's pronounced 'Hee-deh' 「ヒデ」, but for people unfamiliar with Japanese, they might read it as 'Hai-d'「ハイド」 (without the '-oh'). This could make them think the name means something like 'Hiding from Japan.' You don’t need to change anything, but I just thought it might cause some confusion for others!

No cos you’re so right. I read it as “Hide from Japan” too like literally. This comment is what helped me understand it’s not like HIDE as in HIDING but his name. I hope he sees it. ❤

I'm amazed you had more than one. It's really difficult to find work in Australia (at least Melbourne) when it's for minimum wage stuff. I know you don't respond to comments much but if you'd be willing can you let me know what your work experience was like before coming to Australia? Also good video as always! You're improving with each upload/day!

Hello Mr. Hide, I am a new viewer of your videos. I believe you are doing great work here to capture these moments in time and to keep track of your progress in the English language. I was misled by your UA-cam username at first because I interpreted it as someone who was running away from Japan, but this is not the case. I am not sure if anyone else had this problem before. But if it is ok with you, would you be interested in changing your username? Just so that is not misleading to other people. One suggestion I have is “Hide Learns English”. You are a good man, and I respect you. Keep up the great work!

in the description you said, “i hope you will warm to me” but it’s a bit more natural to say “I hope you will warm up to me” Just like how you would warm up a bowl of noodles. it’s a simile and doesn’t mean to actually get warm temperature wise (which i think you understand)

Hello Hide. So in western culture we are taught to ask how someone is feeling because it shows a person your interest in how they are feeling in that moment, it shows interest in break "ice" in the engagement being informal and more personal. It also allows for the two individuals to share something and allows us to bond in the moment and create a dialogue of engagement in that meeting. Its an Ice breaker. A lot of how we greet one another is informal. Hopefully that helps. Its very much a cultural thing and huge difference from a intensly formal Japanese way. 😊
