Embroidering a DOLLAR to my HOODIE!
It’s been a while! This video was recorded more than a year ago, should I do a follow up on how the hoodie has held up over time of regular washing and drying cycles?

3 Tips to STOP Breaking Needles on Trucker (Structured) Hats | Bonus Tips Included!
How price this machines
I dont imagine 20 years of burning the plastic on the patches will be good for the body. There has to be a better way than burning.
The optimal option is a laser cutter but either way, good ventilation is key
I have a macbook pro and literally can not find this for the life of me...any help?
Haven't seen anybody have success with this on a Mac :/
Thanks for the tips in the video. I'm so frustrated. My thread keeps breaking and even though the design looks good on the screen when I start to stitch it on the hat the lettering is aweful. It is constantly messing up and the letters are not smooth. Any recommendations. I will look at slowing the machine down but I have already messed up two hats. :(
Hats are a pain for sure. If you're still having issues with these tricks, it could be something more complex like the timing could be slightly off or the hoop is too high off of the needle plate. Both of these can cause the needle to break. If the timing is off, it may not be as noticeable on flats but can be worse on caps. Also, if the cap frame is too high from the needle plate, there can be excess deflection causing the needle to crash and break. Can be different for all machines but possibly worth looking into! Best of luck-
Who did you use for digitizing for that hat design?
For this one I used Dream Digitizing!
What is the density of the design file?
Just default density. I don't remember this one exactly, but I kept it the same as for shirts. It could have been a little more dense to help fill but they still came out great!
how do you download the file into your software to create that marrow stitch ?
after downloading the file for the marrow edge how do you download it into your software and use the stitch?
On the Melco, I have it automatically upload to a shared folder that the computer connected to the Melco has access to. For other machines, you will need to use a USB drive to transfer the file from the computer to the embroidery machine.
What abot thickness
Stand 40 weight thread!
@@LovesBranding 0.40?
@@LovesBranding and how i can get it the sanme material
what stitch was that please.colin,uk
The actual version is a Merrow stitch which is done on Merrow branded machines. They can be very expensive and only do one thing but they do it very well. To replicate it on the embroidery machine, I call it a faux or fake merrow edge since it's not really the same thing but looks very similar.
Nice work
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you so much
You're most welcome. Thanks for watching :)
What material is the logo?
I think its PVC!
What is your tension settings please?
I forget on this one, but I do show the Actifeed settings in some of my other videos!
Hi, thanks for awesome videos and the one you made about EMT 16+ I almost bought a used Emp) 16+ but after watching yours I decided against it now I am debating between bravo and EMT 16 X and I was wondering if there’s a way we can chat about it I don’t make an expensive mistake. Thank you.
The EMT16X is a goat! But so is the Bravo. The main difference is the limitations. I'm not entirely sure of the Bravo X since it is different than the Bravo I have. If you want to make sure you can do pretty much everything and anything, EMT16X is the way to go. The sew field and hoop sizes are typically smaller on the Bravo. In my opinion, if you are looking to spend that much, go ahead and get the EXT16X so you don't have to worry about these things.
How about the settings?
Settings matter but vary between different machines. These tricks work for most machines!
@@LovesBranding I understand that. I have the same machine you do. That is why I asked.
@@jacquelinerojas1722 I've since sold the Melco and got a Barudan!
It worked great! Thank you very much
Great to hear, glad it helped!
Looks like a 3D chain stitch. It gives a “welded” vibe
Thanks for sharing this technique! It worked great for me.
Great to hear!
That is an awesome video! BTW, how did you make the Merrow Replica edges? Do you have a video how to digitize the edge?
I bought the premade file from fullerembroideryworks.com/ but if you look up Faux Marrow Edge Embroidery, I'm sure you can find some other options!
We have a surecolorf2100. The white ink is actually running on the film. I am not sure what the issue is. Please help.
Make sure you are using the correct side of the film. If you are, then you may need to dial back how much white ink is printing. The default setting for 100% is too much. 30-50% is good but it may take some testing.
So glad I caught this video. I've done very little foam embroidery because of (fear) my lack of knowledge. Great demo. Did you use a 'foam' font or just a regular embroidery font? I've been told you MUST use a foam font and it's not necessary.
You want to use a foam font or get your file created for foam. The main reason is because you want the threads to be a lot more dense than standard to help keep the foam from showing through the threads.
Excellent video! great job!
Thank you very much!
Thanks a lot!!! This video is really very helpful!🤩🙏
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
Why am I not seeing any stitches on the back side
You can make a patch with two layers so if you only embroider the front then layer it and finish with the border, you will not see the stitches on the back!
Hola!! Me compre esa maquina y resulta que modifique las configuraciones. Necesitaría conseguirlas. Te podrías ayudar por favor compartiéndomelos?? Te lo agradezco!!!
I no longer have the same machine so I cannot help you :( I'm sorry
Would you agree that too much Pre Treat is not a bad thing as long as it's cured [Dry] when your ready to print?
For me, I would get some crystalizing if I had too much pretreat when trying to dry it with a heat press. I wouldn't use an excess amount but there is more of a wiggle room than people thing there is. Just takes some testing!
@@LovesBranding would you agree that a slow curing by means of heat would eliminate the crystallization? ( i.e. hot air).
@@websurfer2344 Could definitely test it, I didn't like air drying because it left the shirt feeling super starch-y. I have a friend that throws them through the dryer to evaporate the water in the pretreat but would still need to heat press before printing for the smoothest surface.
Nice. I have an 06 STi, so the headrest is built into the seat--not gonna work for me. Lol. I'm considering reupholstering my door cards & embroidering something on those, no idea what though.
Ah yeah, I got lucky that it came apart. You could always try a patch and heat press it on or head rest seat covers to embroider onto that but it loses the OEM look.
Fantastic Where to buy in South Africa.
I'm not sure :(
Thanks for th great video!! So much great information.
Glad you enjoyed it!
thanks for the Video, Can you tell me more less how many shirts you can print with just one set of Cartages? (please give a guess on one color only, I'm sure this is not perfect but this will help me get an idea) Thank You
I'm not entirely sure on volume of shirts but for an estimate, my cost on ink per shirt was anywhere between $2-6. Depends on how big the designs were and how much white is in the design!
what about if it's just white ink only I'm getting running issues with the ink 😢
If you're having issues printing white ink, your ink line might be clogged.
thanks but those who need the machine
The machines are so expensive :,(
I have an opportunity to buy one for 500 with a pretreatment system. Is it not worth it? The guy says it works and doesnt seem to know anything about it. Im sure the tubes are clogged. But is it worth it as its 500 for both the f2100 and a pretreatment t1 machine
If you are good mechanically and are comfortable working on machines, it MIGHT be. BUT I would honestly say no because there are so many small electronics and pieces that it would be easy to mess it up. Having Epson out to repair is roughly $3k+. The new ones are expensive but comes with the warranty and can be extended so you don't have to worry about it at all.
Can you help explain what determines how much Pre Treat to use?
The best method is with testing on a sample shirt. What I do is test different amounts and cover up different parts of the shirt so I can test 3-4 different amounts on a single shirt. Then print it and cure to see which amount works best!
Great Idea, have to try that I will put the dollar in different place or
It was a fun project and one of my top hoodies :) Lasted a year with regular washes. Its a lot more faded now than it used to be though unfortunately
Very nice
Thanks!
Thanks for the tip. I ran some white shirts today on the f2100 at my shop and them suckered faded right after washing. I didn't double stike the color or have and of my striking setti g turned on. I'm definitely trying your setting tomorrow. 🤪
Best of luck! White shirts can be "easier" than black shirts but are a bit tricky to first figure out because they can fade more
Gracias amigo, por más que busque tutoriales de como bordar un llavero con dos caras no encontraba, hasta que ví tu excelente video
¡Gracias por ver el vídeo!
Where can you buy that twill?
I found it at an embroidery expo! I think it was a product they were testing so I'm not sure if its for sale publicly. If I find a link, I'll reply it
It is something very similar to this: www.stahls.com/how-to-rip-away-applique-process
Does this wash well? Does it not tear inside the badge? Thanks 😊
This was for a 1-time wear project so I'm not sure :/
Beautiful video. Would love to see how successful you could be if you used a better PT machine and different solutions! Also, there is no such thing a true universal PT, yet!
PT is the worst part of DTG 😭😭
try Ricoh DTG, they have lower production cost at same level, and the warranty is 3 yrs (in my place)
Never tried it but they are a good alternative!
Nice work brotha but what’s the prices if you wanna do both sides ?
It wouldn't be too expensive. I don't make these anymore unfortunately
ok so what I've done EVERYTHING mentioned, and then some? It keeps giving me an axis area when the needle is going directly between the seam. Thankfully it's a 90/14 so it hasn't broken every time but I have to do the dance to get the off axis fixed. What else could i be missing? I've followed every tip and trick I've seen. Hats are the money maker...we all know that. So i really HAVE to conquer this!
Unfortunately there's a lot of variables to consider. One thing I see with some machines is the cap driver being too high. It's kind of hard to explain over comments but I found this video on how to adjust a SWF machine. Other machines are very similar. The goal is to get it so the cap will sit as close as possible to the needle hole. The more space there is, the more likely there is some deflection in the needle causing it to not go straight down. Give this a try, if not, I would recommend reaching out to a tech to get it dialed in
@@LovesBranding i lowered the driver, the presser feet too...tried it all
Do you happen to know the settings for the f3070?
I don't :(
Very informative and to the point. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you^^
You're welcome 😊
