Thanks much for a wonderful electrical storm video! Where I grew up in NE Iowa, I remember a severe electrical storm that hit on an early Sunday morning in August. The lightning was so intense that it blew out the clock on the kitchen stove - INSIDE our mobile home! Keep the great weather videos coming! Happy Thanksgiving!

DID you know? I proved that thunder does not always follow lightning? true fact. was in the army serving at fortt campbell, kentucky and one morning heard a crackle sound like a twig breaking then a tremendous boom like a sonic boom then a blinding flash. it was as close to being hit by lightning as one can possibly get it struck a pump house about 15 ft away but I heard the crackle before the flash. a lot say thats not possible but i have 11 witnesses.

Hey im from wisconsin,i dont remember this one,i remember siren EF-3,Barnaveld EF-5,Stoughton EF-3,Oakfield EF-5,& a few others,im in west bend we got hit on april 4th 1981 after midnight, it took the city by surprise caused deathes,injuries,25 million in damage,had 200 MPH winds,very few seen it,not on radar,no watches,warnings,no sirens,it was rated F4/EF-4 and it was anticyclonic

Hello Rosalie! Do you speak french? At 4:30 I heard quelque chose and Oh la la la la. :-D

Now, this is my kind of place to live. Four distinct seasons. If I were there on the date of this storm, it would be something worth looking forward to. Here in NJ, storms like that are too hit and miss. I also love snowy winters, and here the last 2 have been practically snowless. Some years you can get clobbered with snow, and others you don't even need a snow shovel.

That was a very good video, that constant lightning was amazing!! I live in Ct and back on August 4 we had a severe storm come thru my town. The part of my town that I live in wasn't hit too bad but in other parts the storm produced several microbursts. When it was all done about half the town had no power. Many roads were blocked by downed wires and downed trees. The storm was a supercell and had rotation but no tornado warning was issued. All four fire companies were very busy that day. Where I live we seldom get storms like that. Very exciting!!!

Hey neighbor… kinda 😂 I’m in coon rapids. I watched this storm come up and was shocked it went from cloudy to BLACK in minutes. I thought for sure it was going to be really bad. But then the storm a couple nights later actually did spawn a tornado VERY close by on the Andover border. It was wild, sideways rain and the light flickered for a bit before dimming off. Kinda green hue to the sky. Ick

I was at home when the storm hit. it was bad the sky was green.

Me and my wife and baby were driving from Fort Frances, ON to Minneapolis and we manage to hit this storm around 8 pm. Not only us were parked but a lot of people as well due to the high winds and rain going insane. Was an awesome light show though after it passed!!

I was at the MN State fair this day I left at 5:45 ish so before the storms hit...I live close to the MN State fair but the storm hit us hard

I'm in Coon Rapids, MN and we also got hit pretty hard, it was very windy when I got home and I thought for sure we would had a Tornado Watch but never did so. But that storm was so cool

Im in Stacy, MN (2 exits north of Forest Lake on 35)... We had 70mph winds and lost power for hours. There was a lot of damage north of the cities...

Great video! The sky was really dark in my city, but we missed out on the storm warning that night.

I had some trees with damage in the north metro. Many cloud to ground lightning strikes with this one and the 5:30 morning storm today as well

9:15 was that a strike or a transformer blowing? Couldn't tell.
