The chemistry was chemistrying. Seriously though, not just the chemistry between Jane and Guildford (which was chef's kiss), but the chemistry between all of the characters. You can really tell they were relaxed on set and were given the freedom to be the best they could be.

Maybe you should do a panel discussion on why people get so emotional about fictional stories. Is it a generational thing? Are people's attachment to stories like Bridgerton the same as people's attachment to their favorite sports team? Of course a lot of the vitriol you speak of isn't really about the stories or series itself. Rather, Bridgerton really does hit on existential issues that society, not just Anglo Western society is currently grappling with. Queer theory for example is not merely a discussion about who is attracted to whom. Rather it is based on an ideology to subvert the status quo dominance - in this case the patriarchy. With respect to race, well, ironically, Violet's mother articulates brilliantly in Queen Charlotte when she explains to Violet why she opposes "the great Experiment." Actually, maybe that's why I love Queen Charlotte so much. There are instances where everyone tries to be polite and dance around the issue, and then they get frustrated and speak bluntly about what they really think. And it is appalling -- but it's very real. Shondaland took a huge gamble when they came out with Bridgerton. It was a gamble that paid off not only in terms of money but perhaps more in terms of expanding awareness. Game of Thrones may have been more successful in term of viewership, but I think Bridgerton has captured the imagination globally in a way that will have long lasting effects on the consciousness. It is not pleasant to deal with opinions that are offensive. I wonder if the showrunners were really prepared for the range of emotions and reactions to Season 3. The current showrunner Jess Brownell is not "new." She has worked on rom coms in the past and she was a writer for Bridgerton, I believe for the first 2 seasons before becoming showrunner. Netflix is a multi billion dollar enterprise which makes its money on streaming services. The current showrunner is moving the Bridgerton series in a new direction further away from the source material. Someone has to be monitoring the reactions and evaluating the algorithms. Bridgerton fires up the imagination, delights with fantasy and touches the heart. But Bridgerton also draws out social anxieties that people are dealing with. A British woman in the 1930s popularized the regency era historical romance. That was between the two world wars. Almost 100 years later the world now poised for global conflict. Societies around the world are unstable and grappling with new realities, questioning the past but fearful of the future. The current showrunner is sharing her vision of fantasy that delights some but absolutely terrifies and repulses others. If we are to move forward and progress in a pluralistic society, we need to first figure out how people really think and feel and brace ourselves for the rawness of emotion.

I keep having things to say so I'm just going to write as I watch lol I also really like the mondritchs (I don't think I'm spelling that right but oh well) I'm glad they keep coming back I've seen some other people complain about that but I think the biggest problem is just that they try to have too many storylines going on at once. I think the mondritch plot should stay though I'm enjoying it. Colin has been making me cringe this season which sucks because I actually really liked him in the last two and I was so excited to finally see him as a lead and watch him fall in love with pen 🙃 you're so right about that scene where he's supposed to be seen as this like stud it made me embarrassed to watch lmao if someone was saying that to me in real life I'd be like 🤨 but they're all swooning and fanning it felt so fake. I also personally really disliked the carriage scene because I could only focus on how the curtains were open and they were riding through town so I was like oh my god someone's gonna see like I just could not get into it. Benedict's story line was so unnecessary! I like that lady he's been seeing she seems cool and all but we all know they aren't going to end up together so it's like why take more screen time away from the main couple? I actually like Cressida this season tbh I think her character development made me really root for her to end up with lord debbling(??) because otherwise tbh I would've been rooting more for him and pen despite my previous love for polin. Im kind of biased towards him because I'm also an animal/nature lover but Colin really dropped the ball this season for me. I never read the books but now I'm also sad lady Danbury wasn't more involved I feel like now if they name their kid after her it's gonna be met with a lot of confusion. I've seen a few people say that they think lady whistledown should be passed on to Cressida and that Penelope can still write and all that but she could start writing things she can actually put her name on and come in to her own as a writer and I really agree and I hope they go that route so she doesn't have to give up her hobby/job and Cressida gains a new one and I think it would also give another reason to have all that time devoted to her this season.

Sadly I agree. The Colin performance is not good. I expected more dreams, or communicating through notes or something to build the affection. Also if we were going to suffer through his open mouth staring, she shouldn’t have been looking back. I could have taken his stares if she was all into Deblin (sic?).

Hoping part 2 does some wonders because I saw the interviews, Nic and Luke are great but when we are enjoying a new Francesca and the chemistry she has with John in silence - it's a red flag. With so many plotlines, it seems like the Mondrichs stepped in as the happy married couple so that they won't steal steam from the primary love story (like the s2 leads did in the premiere episode). BUT I have faith in part 2 bringing it home!

This season was utterly boring... They didn't develop chemistry and straight away went for kissing and fingering🙄🙄🙄. I hated book too there was no chemistry in book too but I thought at least the show will be good since they were hyping it too much... But nope they were just over hyping. Btw hated mondrich story from the beginning. Their story is as irrelevant as the past 2 seasons

i‘m german and omg you‘re so right!!! He calls her „Liebchen“ and it‘s like derived „Liebe“ (= love) and also whenever you‘re referring to something small or sweet or cute you add „chen“ (you also do this with names or at least Germans used to back in the day; i.e. my name is Jasmin and my grandma calls me Jasminchen). So yeah this was awesome, I LOVED that detail. And I think (??) that old George called her Liebchen in S1 or S2?? I could be wrong tho. So yeah, I love the Liebchen thing, it‘s the sweetest thing ever, glad that you looked it up too <333

Completely agree with your opinion on Colin’s character development. I feel like the story would be lackluster for those who haven’t read the books and can’t fill in the gaps. However, the intimacy scene in the carriage? I liked everything but the odd moment where Pen runs her hand through his hair . That looked a bit awkward to me 😂.

I actually love this season lol😭 and I’m one of those people who wasn’t a fan of season 2 so this was a breath of fresh air. so also I loved Colin’s speech.😬 it came off as sweet and it felt very polin for me. instead of how tony’s was which was filled with passion. For me I think why I like it is because it’s very realistic to real life because In my relationship it’s friends to lovers and I have so many friends like that as well and once you realize your feelings it’s very fast paced after that idk. polin In my personal opinion i think isn’t supposed to be passion filled it’s supposed to be awkward and sweet very rom com like that’s what it was giving me.

I just started sophomore year. At the end of my freshman year, my unweighted gpa was a 3.75 Is that decent? Edit: After the first semester of sophomore year my gpa is a 3.83/4 Is my gpa good now? Edit: After second semester, it’s a 3.87/4 Hopefully it will be a little better, next year.
