Still "boring" to me. Like, nobody said fighters aren't strong, they can be extremely OP. That doesnt necessairily make them interesting, specially If combat isn't your favourite thing about TTRPG, which is My case. Being awesome in combat like that is dope, but If a game lets me be a supernatural creature that does Magic, or turns to Animals or things like that, you bet I wont be playing a human with a sword :v Like, even If I am going to make a more combat related character, Im still probably gonna pick something that has more flavour than fighter, like paladin, barbarian or rogue.

i like fighters cause i actually like being able to fight like i like rogues, but in d&d, they are terrible at fighting. Especially in older editions (1e and 2e). Which sucks cause those are some of my favorite editions. So i alsways just create a fighter with like a rogue-ish vibe to them. Even to this day. Always got told to play a ranger then. Rangers still suck at fighting lol. So i choose fighter and it's many different flavors: spear, dual daggers, single sword, sword and shield, etc

if i had to build this bad boy, i'd guess the best option would be battle master human with fighting style: defense, unnarmed strike, meaby two handed weapon, and for feats sentinel and some homebrew feat that allows you to grab a 2 handed weapon weapon one handed and hit with the dull side?

i forget where i heard it or even if i'm saying it right right now, but fighters are basically SO GOOD at fighting that every other class has to cheat to keep up

The problem is unless you're a battle master theres no lechanical way to do sick shit like this. You have embellish hitting a guy four times with your sharp metal stick while the wizard is out here reversing gravity and summoning shadowspawn and goofy shit like that

I think one reason we love this build in a fantasy world is because with all these super natural powers, it feels more like an underdog story, and who you rooting for to clap cheeks? Your home team the humans. A human standing up to all these fucking things with just metal and will power just gets me fucking hyped
