For the moon medallion, you could try photocopying the cardboard piece and then taping the paper to the back of the film. May have to align the ink toward the light source or put something else in between to adjust how harsh the lines show up.

I made my board like a jigsaw out of black 18mm MDF with stickers of the rooms and corridors instead of sculpting. The corners and junctions all went 1 square past a corner as per the visibility rules. To tempt the Hero's past corners or through doors I made bright red blocks to highlight areas the hero's hadn't been. The Kellar's keep multi level stages were so much more fun with all the height as i think the 4th Quest started 150-200mm (6-8 inches) above the board and then whined down to the last room. If I could make a suggestion get some thick card stock or thin MDF and cut it to room sizes then paint it black so all the rooms and corridors can be covered till the Hero's have line of sight. Your works looking great! I wish I had more time to try it myself.

I‘ll go with white to make them match the other dice. Which looks great in your Video. Would love to see if white wirkt on the Delthrak Dice too, as I might get some then. Great vid.

If you're talking about the backing boards, I got those at a local Walmart. It's called Ghostline Foam Board. 1/2" faint grid on One Side. 3/16" thick, 15 x 20". Hope that helps.

I loved the old Heroquest with a passion. I got in 1990 when I was around 14 years old for Christmas. I kept it for years...left home long ago. Recently my Mum found it in the loft with all the old expansion packs and figures. A lot of it was lost. However my brother and I spent a cple of hrs of sheer nostalgia and pleasure going through it all. It even had maps and notes I'd made as a kid as I used to write my own dungeons on graph paper. Pure magic. ❤

Dang you’re going all out on this. I did custom room tiles and hallway tiles too, they turned out great. But I used a thinner sheet and it kind of bends upward unfortunately. If I ever redo it all, I’ll do a thicker sheet for sure. It’s fun for my own home brew games. Makes the game a lot of fun.

From all the other crafting videos I've seen on UA-cam, rarely do you see people's errors. And if you do see the mess-ups, it's disposed of or quickly removed from camera as a joke. Yet, if you ask makers like Adam Savage of Mythbusters fame, mistakes are where you learn the most. That's also why I list where I got my ideas from in the video descriptions. Creation is collaborative. And failure is educative. I'm not a high level creative. I'm a recovering art major, 20 years out of of making things with about an hour a day free to make a 'something.' At the very least, I just want others to know, they can do this too, and it doesn't have to be "the greatest thing ever to exist." It just needs to be what you need it to be.

Man, you nailed it! I’m in the middle of the process of my own HeroQuest 3D Dungeon Board and your video it’s an inspiration to keep going and wrap up this project. My tiles are 40x40mm wide and I also decided to go for double corridors to make the gameplay more interagindo, also giving more space to me to add no only walls, but also small towers and buildings in the place of some rooms, creating a more immersive experience. You’ve got a new subscriber, and I hope you keep posting more stuff from this project!

Glad to know this is helping you to move forward. And just know, this is a big project. It took me a year +. But I kept up with a mantra from another UA-cam channel (Emgo. Mostly his "builds stuff" series.) Progress is progress. If all you did that day was stare at it for 5 minutes. Or if you put paint on 1 test piece, or you re-organized your toothpicks for spikes for the twelfth time . You still did something. You still moved forward. Good luck and I hope it ends up fantastic!
