They need to do one of these for “life coaches”. If I see that on someone’s resume it’s automatic rejection. Life coaches are just people who are shocked at how amazing they are at living. They just run their yap giving poor advice to people who don’t want to hear it (colleagues, friends, neighbors, homeless people, etc).

So consultant in this specific example/video could be replaced by all rich executives and federal officials nowadays. They think their luxurious lifestyle will still exist after half of the population has no stable lifestyle.
Management Consulting - An industry that 20 year old geezers know their business inside-out pays people fresh out of college (liberal arts degree) with no experience to advise them without actually putting any of their ideas into place.
I was an IT consultant, probably one of the most boring jobs you can ever do. You are stuck doing the same stuff every day, same presentations, same meeting, same issues, same clients.
Can you share a specific story? I still don't get why businesses want to pay for advise from people who are not in their business...Please help me understand!!
If you don't have the internal expertise you need to refer to an external consultant. If you sell your applications (web services/cloud/whatever) you need an integration consultant that explains you how to integrate it into your IT infrastructure. Or if you are Software consultant, like I was, you provide the custom integrations but that it's a lot more expensive for the client. Some clients (hospitals, charities,councils) don't even have a development team so they must rely on consultants.
