While loading 9mm on the XL750 I created this video. Really, it’s applicable to most any pistol caliber. It's probably more geared to a beginner or someone considering the XL750 who wants to understand more about the progressive press reloading process. There’s some tips in it too. Welcome to The Billistics Lab.

    Very interesting! My same suppressor was stuck at Remington while in for repairs when they went through bankruptcy. Got the parts back from them at some point and they then sat in my safe for years partially disassembled. I had no idea how to take that thing down I thought it was a total loss. Decided to dig it out and reach out to AAC last week on a whim. Glad I did. I sent it in for repair, they charged me $185 shipped to rebuild it and send it back to me. They turned the work around in a couple days. Just picked it up today. Feels heavier, I wonder if they put more steel baffles in it? Without any adapter it weighs 9.1 oz. Also I now cannot get the end cap off with my tool, I think they used red threadlocker on it. Either way I am excited to shoot it. Honestly I hope that I never have to disassemble this thing ever again, what a pain. If it gets dirty enough and the performance degrades I will just send it back to them for maintenance. Thanks for this video, you solved the mystery for me on how that can is constructed!

    You're showing that the Aero Lahar-30 weighs more than a Sandman-S? Websites are showing 15.4oz for the Lahar-30 and 17.7oz for the Sandman-S Am I missing something?

    • @sureshottactical5403
      @sureshottactical5403 2 місяці тому

      Often manufacturers weigh something without the muzzle mounting device. I would say, go off what I am actually showing, it’s not like I had my finger on the scale skewing the results. For example, the Sandman is known weight as the mount is built in, it is the KeyMo, but the lahar is unknown because it is HUB. They don’t know if you’re gonna use direct thread a DA428 KeyMo or whatever. The Lahar is for sure, anecdotally, a heavy can.

    I like the adjustable arm design like in this video that you lock in. I bought from POE legacy and got the fixed arm brackets that hit the swage rod bracket. They are printed to far forward towards the shaft bracket so the swage rod portion does not come down fast enough before the swage rod tip starts to protude out causing the case to catch on the swage tip.

      @@preacherbiggin I have tried out my R9 on 2 16" barreled PCCs running 147gr subsonic ammo and I have to say that I am not impressed. I don't know if I just had too high of expectations because I had never heard suppressed shooting in person or if it's because I'm shooting from 16" barrels and therefore the subs are going super because of the longer barrel length but it did not sound really any quieter to me than shooting unsuppressed. Now someone who was present told me the he had the same issue with his suppressor (I don't remember what he had. It might have been a sandman) and he told me that I need to just shoot it a lot and let the carbon build up and by doing that, it will start sounding quieter. Also, keep in mind that I was using active hearing protection so I also am not sure if maybe my hearing protection was "reamplifying" the sound signature? Any idea if there is any truth to what I was told about the suppressor needing to have carbon build up before it actually sounds quiet? Another disappointment is I also tried running it on my PSA Dagger. Now the good news is it actually did sound noticeably quiet BUT, it does not cycle. And yes, I am using a nielsen/piston device. Though I just recently realized that maybe I'm suppose to be using some kind of lubrication and turns out from my research that yes, I'm supposed to use something called "white lightning grease"? Anyway, I will try that the next time I go shooting and hope that helps with the cycling.

    • @preacherbiggin
      @preacherbiggin 3 місяці тому

      @ecobasetech4558 id say you are most likely running into your ammo becoming supersonic because of your barrel length. Subs in my 5" pcc sound amazingly quiet. No hearing protection at all. On my glock model 45 shooting 147gr and 150gr is insanely quiet as well and functions flawlessly. How many rounds have you run with the can on the Dagger and how many rounds have you run in total on the Dagger itself as a whole? Are you getting ZERO cycling with the can on the Dagger? OR just the occasional cycling issue?
