    FYI, the "View customer events" and "Manage and add custom pixels" permissions are already available on the first screen. You can even see it in your own video at 1:17... You just click through it too fast. :) No need to save and edit, and save again.

    Hi Kevin, is there a way to view the revenue for all pages, not just landing? I would like to be able to attribute revenue to pages viewed during an entire session when a purchase is made.

      Unfortunately, no. GA4 doesn't track sessions the same way as UA, so there's no way to rebuild that report without using Big Query data

    Hi Kevin, great documentation video! However I'm wondering how custom HTMLs or tags can be debuggable instead of dataLayer in general? We have a custom html that reads from "document" object and triggered by DOM changes, the tag no longer works after custom pixel change, but I'm not sure if the tag is not fired because of the trigger or simply it can't access document object anymore since it's in an iFrame, any suggestions?

      You won't be able to access the document object anymore. I would expect most custom html tags to need some or significant tweaking

    We also ran into this bug. Our purchase events sent via the measurement protocol show up again if we include the user_data: {} in the payload (even if the user_data is empty).

      Thank you so much for the video and this comment! 🙏 Including "user_data" in the payload solved the problem for us too, so we don't need to create a new GA4 property.

    What about showing total pageviews and total users on the same line chart? This was standard in UA, and the bright minds at Google said, "let's just get rid of the most standard feature that every user expects to see on their analytics dashboard."

    In order to temporarily remove this problem, we excluded user_id from the request. So we can at least see the number of purchases.

    Shopify Filtered Data isn't populating in to Shopify Filtered Data. The only formula I see in Shopify Filtered Data is in Cell A1 = =query(shopify_raw_data, "select * where AZ is not null")

    This seems to be a bug. After enabling User-provided data collection (Beta) for one of our properties, GA4 will now show those events with a user_id; like purchase. This has forced us to enable Device-based reporting identity because the Observed and Blended will not show those events. Enabling device-based reporting will show those events but you will lose user stitching. This seems to be a bug.

    We've spotted purchase double counting since turning this option on and we're not using Measurement Protocol API. Recommending to all clients not to switch on until properly tested on a demo GA4 account.

    Hey there, I've noticed that after installing the custom pixel I am now seeing a lot of pageview url's in my GA4 that have /web-pixel...../sandbox. Are these related possibly?

      Yes. If you're firing a pageview without properly formatting the GA4 pageview event, that's what it'll look like

    Oh no, I just found your video after turning this option on and GA4 has lost it's mind. Most of our conversions have bottomed out (but none of them have stopped tracking altogether, the conversion as just sawy lower, about 90% less). And my page path and screen class reports shows for a particular URL Views = 0, Users = 5.282 so it knows there are users on that page, but they are not associating the event (in this case page_view) with that user ID.

    Hi Kevin thank you very much for this video. is there a stable way of passing SOURCE, MEDIUM, CAMPAIGN and KEYWORD data into the datalayer from the pages before the checkout? The sandbox seems to completely bust any kind of attribution.

    Thanks a lot for the value Kevin. Quick question, I watched a video from Analytics Mania "Track calendly with Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4" that seems to be an easier way to track Calendly conversions. But then I read in an article from Code + Tonic that it's best to create a redirect to a Thank you page when the meeting is booked, to track more data, so that Enhanced Conversions on Google Ads works best. That's similar to what you are doing in your video. Do you think that Analytics Mania method is enough for Google Ads conversion tracking, or it's best to do with the redirect thank you page? Sorry for the long comment, I'm trying to understand this better. Thanks in advance 🙏

      This uses service account credentials, not OAuth. OAuth would be very different.
