An Accidental Hike - Summit Lake, Waterton Lakes National Park, Alberta
For our last day, we drove out to Cameron Lake, a nice drive through the mountains. In addition to see Bighorn Sheep (see my last video here: ua-cam.com/video/o-2xiM7_ox8/v-deo.html ), we enjoyed the views. Cameron Lake was beautiful, and in our attempt to walk around the lake we ended up heading up the mountainside to Summit Lake. And then on the way back there was a surprise. Tag along to see what happened.

This was by far the hardest puzzle I've ever completed. I found a couple of these on sale earlier in 2024 and figured they would be good during down-time (when not hiking and out in the bush). Little did I know the challenges that a hologram finish and monochrome color scheme would bring. Please note that even though it took several months to complete, we did not work on it every day, and at ti...

White-tailed Jackrabbit male (buck) on trail of female (doe)

This White-tailed Jackrabbit stopped me in my cycle-tracks as he seemed to be hunting around for a certain scent on the ground. He was pretty oblivious to my presence, too! It was spring, so he was likely hunting down a female in the area. This Jackrabbit lives in Edmonton, Alberta. We have a Patreon account for those would like to support us! Geese don't always fly in v's - Canada Geese flying in a line with strong wind

Geese don't always fly in a v formation. Their classic V or chevron formation can vary greatly depending on the wind. In this case, the flock had a strong wind at their backs (tailwind), so they were flying very quickly. Flock spotted over Edmonton, Alberta flying northbound in Spring 2024. What a great hike, lovely place, so many great views to take in. A shame about that area there had been a fire though. 6:46 looks very dramatic - with all the "naked" trees and the "volcano" in the background. I wouldn't mind an "accidental hike" like that happen to me. Beautiful.❤ Many greetings from Bangkok to Cameron Lake.... Thomas

Donna, Great hike with surprise, wildlife encounter such wow, a grizzly bear in distance. The trail seems to have acute uphills as I hear your rough breathing. Nice. comparison between US side and Canadian side. I am sorry to hear wild fire.. I heard about it that smoke cover US side of the sky as well. I believe the air quality was restored by the time you hike haha tranquility is all yours as a reward Is he hungry? oh they will not hibernate? Bears here in NC tend to come out in the city and entertain us. They actually look for food. Definitely I enjoy this beautiful hike. I miss hiking...still may trails in NC closed after we returned, but partially open after natural disaster by Helene. You don't believe some of main roads/bridges in the city still closed. Many small business still suffer, so is wildlife.

Hi Ms Kayak. It was actually a Black Bear, but we weren't sure at the time as young Grizzlies don't really show much of a hump. Yes, he should be hibernating now. This area's fire was in 2017 but of course it will take a long time for the trees to regrow. Thanks so much for watching.
