If I had to guess, you're probably using a cheap set of snap ring pliers from [insert local auto parts store.] You need a quality pair of pliers. Don't waste your time on anything pliers that cost less that $20. Good luck

But to answer your question about a faulty thermostat; a thermostat that is malfunctioning will either get "stuck" in then open or closed position. If it stays open, the engine probably won't get up to normal operating temperature. Causing the radiator fan(s)not to run. If the thermostat is stuck in the closed position, the engine temperature will rise above normal operating conditions, causing the fans to run constantly.

It should be in a similar area. The intake manifold runners are a little different but like I mentioned before, it should be in the same area.

Are you talking about the red clip from the harness or removing the temperature sensor?

@@damiondouglas7631 you should be able to remove the metal retaining "pin" and carefully wiggle the harness off.

@@SeanPhelps-qh2eu Ive been struggling to fit anything in between the clip and the space is tight, maybe the intercooler piping is too close. Ive tried to pop the clip out with a screw driver i just dont know if maybe there is a certain way to remove it. I really appreciate all the help thank you been stuck on this for a few days and its all i need to fix for the sr to be back on the road again

You would have to check your timing chain to determine if it needs to be replaced or not. Nissan's factory service manual recommends replacing the timing chain if you see and cracks or excessive wear at the roller links. Hope this helps, thanks for the comment.

If I recall correctly, start by pulling the a Pillar trim off from the top first and work your way down towards the dash. Then you should be able to pull it out. Hope this helps

Thank you. I do an oil change every one thousand miles, and before I changed the o- ring and valve covers, I would only get between one and two quarts of oil in my drain pan. The oil consumption was pretty bad. After doing the repairs I get about three and a half quarts of oil in the drain pan, (after one thousand miles of driving) which isn't much better, but its a slight improvement compared to before.

@@SeanPhelps-qh2eu why are you doing them so frequently? wouldnt it be better to do it every 3k miles and top up the oil level when it gets low? when you say you only get 1-2 quarts in the pan, is your dip stick reading low then? rev ups naturally burn oil, but it looks like part of ur oil issues was from leaks. which is common.

@@Mohdr121In my opinion there is no disadvantage to doing an oil change as often as I do it. Rather than trying to get an accurate reading from the (poorly designed) dip stick and guessing how much oil to add, I have a designated mileage to change the oil altogether. Also, its just fun to do when I get bored lol.

Sounds like a decent deal. As long as there isn't any "chatter" coming from the timing chain and its not burning oil terribly bad id say go for it. I'd expect a few minor repairs for that price point but it should be anything thats going to break the bank you know. Good luck, let me know what you decide to do.

G35's are notorious for having window motors fail. The windows are so big and kind of heavy they put a lot of stain on the motors, maybe look into replacing the window motor. As far as the air conditioning goes, I dont personally know of any issues with it. Maybe "door" that flows air out of the vents is jammed shut somewhere 🤷🏾‍♂️. Good luck getting the issue solved and congrats on your g35.

Hey Sean, would you know why the ABS, Slip and VDC OFF all pop up on the dash at the same time?

@@garretthill1717 I have been trying to solve this issue myself. I think that one of the abs sensors are malfunctioning or the yaw sensor needs to be replaced. I dont know for sure but if I figure out a definite answer I'll will update with a new video. Good luck with solving the issue.

My g35 has 200,xxx miles on it and I dont have any issues, other than keeping up on routine maintenance. As with any car make sure to check it over, good luck. Let me know what you decide to get! 03-04 g35's and 350z I wouldn't pay more than 3k-5k. Also if you find a manual transmission in these years make sure second and third gear function properly. 05-06 typically go for 4k-7k, they fixed the manual transmissions and they're solid. These years come with the rev up engine that are notoriously bad on oil consumption. 07-08, are the best years to buy a g35/350z, but they are by far the most expensive, usually 7k-13k.
