1995 250cc Motocrosss Season Review - Motovision
Great video coverage of a great race on a superb European track. Congratulations for Team Belgium, but if Hughs hadn't crashed (that's racing!), he would have caught Smets and America would have taken the title. Hughs did a supreme job for a 125 rider moved up to the 500 class and has nothing to be ashamed of; he was no weak link of the team as some have suggested. Team America also had nothing to be ashamed of taking second to a strong Belgium team and that by only 1 point. A few years ago we one a Des Nations by a single point, so its only fair that we lose one in like manner.
On the positive side. The best Des Nations video coverage I've seen since watching them from before America began to dominate. Very clear video and great track angles. And what a track! The Swiss track is also the best I've seen altho a lot of others run a close second; would have loved to race that track. The British commentator also did an excellent job of keeping track of the riders while they were visible coming thru the corners and over the jumps, however, he put the commentators curse on Team USA from the beginning saying more than once, "Could this be the year the Americans winning streak comes to an end" or something to that effect. He also denigrated Mike Kiedrowski multiple times implying that he was the weak link of the team. Kiedrowski did a great job in light of racing with an injured hand, but I really think he should have been on the 500 since he did so well in 1993, and the fact that La Rocco was 250 National Champ. His 5th in the last moto was America's worse finish and the result that was dropped. Emig also did an admirable job on the 125 against the world's best. Nichols letting La Rocco pass him by team orders only saved them the embarrassment of La Rocco passing him anyway. Lastly, full marks for Team Britain nevertheless, they did a great job and deserved to win, but Team America has nothing to be ashamed of in losing by only 2 points.
Long live the 2 strokes. They were the best.
Had this video as a 12 year old. I watched it so much as a kid I memorised it. Never did get my motocross bike 😢
This was proper motocross miss these days the sounds the smells
Almost no jumps!
I would rather watch this than current motocross any day.
Crazy to watch this in 2024…Frederic Vialle (father of Tom Vialle), Paul Malin (now a race commentator), Pit Baier (head of KTM) all racing together on 125’s for their respective countries. Pretty cool.
30 years on and back on home soil. Searle, Anstie & Mewse do us proud!
John Dowd raced his first MX race at the age of 20 in 1985. He raced pro from 1987 to 2013. Can that happen today, stating so late on his own dime, and becoming one of the best in the world? I don't know. I guess if the talent is there, it can happen again.
This brilliant video, just pooped up again on my UA-cam feed, I have been to quite a few des nations over the years in various countries, never fails to be great atmosphere and obviously all the better for having a brit or two to cheer on. Bring it on for 2024🏁🏆🏴🇬🇧
The glory days of the GP circuit. The Budds Creek race aired on ESPN Speedworld in the US.
All of these races aired originally on ESPN Speedworld.
14:37 exactly where McGrath belonged!
Better days
mc graths bike , only had 80% throttle the 1st 5 races , his mechanic messed up using a honda throttle & cable . . .Mc was wondering why his race bike was so much slower than his practice bike . . .
He and his mechanic were too dumb to figure it out. McGrath was a sore fn loser everytime
@@hyfrsilaz7144 and you know him personally ? . . i rode his practice track with him a few times , and rode with him at startwest many many times . .. very nice guy
@@ocjon1965 I guess that guy like to be a loser.
@@EarthSurferUSA 7X super cross champion 72 supercross wins . . . next time you have a thought, shut up. what a stupid comment
Grazie mille from Italy!
This era was the era of 12-15 laps... they never had the stamina like Ricky Carmichael. I will say it was truly a competitive era. Silverdome in Pontiac Mi. Was a great venue for SX... the facility was huge. We went to nearly every race in the 90... never missed 94-2K
They need to BAN these 4 bangers there no motocross bike to a 2 STROKE!!!
Mike Craig on the Honda of Troy CR125
Please can you guys upload the 1995 500 world championship review? 🙌
Still got 8th in the moto and 3rd oa for the day 😂
RC is one of a kind
Damn
Bin gespannt wann der Rote des Video klaut und bei sich hochlädt 😂
back up bike? Whats that? Lol
I was at this race, it was so weird running the track backwards as the flow was a lot different. Go see the Nationals in person if you can, it's awesome.
Top commentary
Such memories of this era. Was running 125 class then and on a conventional fork RM.
Mechanic ready for moto 1 himself
So many Suzuki's, must have been their biggest year
So exciting watching this
I was there man
That mechanic just giviner with no helmet is the best thing I’ve ever seen haha Fk ya
So nice to have 90s footage with a clear picture, I can actually distinguish one rider from another!
Motovison have been watching your videos from the 90,s recently welcome back
Welcome back! Can’t wait 🎉
Name sound 0:18 please 🙏
I want everyone to notice how many people in Europe can afford a motorcycle and play, but when you look at America only a few can play. Proving that because they don't have to defend themselves and America does, we are poorer for it.
Emig wasnt better than mcgrath honda handed that tittle away
Emig was better that year for sure. And as a 125 rider period. McGrath had lost the outdoor title on a Honda and was discouraged by emig after. If Suzuki was so bad that year then y did dumb ass McGrath choose that team? Also Albertyn won the opening race on the same bike McGrath rode all season and lost on.
Mac left Honda over contract disputes only about 2 weeks before he went to Suzuki. There was nothing wrong with the Suzuki, as Roger made every company he worked with the best bikes. Chad Watts as Mac's mechanic really dropped the ball. Skip took over and saw the throttle was not even opening up all the way on his race bike. I am sure there were other problems. Jermey just was not riding very well either. Emig won as he should have.
Herring on form.... Malin riding like a loon I don't think he sat down once in the first race lol
Chesterfield Yamaha were really smoking.
Technical hardpacked without ruts, but plenty of spectators, good days! Seb should have stayed in Europe...
Brilliant
Thank you for sharing
These videos are superb . These videos came out during thee B.S. shut down and helped us keep our sanity.
