Great video! Do you know if that works with a rmc unit from an A1 (2011) ? I bought the car with the unit not working.. since it was the basic unit, one sd slot, without bluetooth, no nav and so on i thought might as well upgrade. After comparing prices i eventually ordered a unit on ebay from a dealership in the UK( everything checks out, its from a wrecked car) Now i simply swapped it, it worked shortly and then "comp. prot." was showing. I found your video and thought "awesome, this is it" and then you also make it look so easy that i figured i would give it a try as well. Long story short, i wanted to ask for advice. Do you think this could work on an A1 and frankly i also struggle to find the eeprom on the board even though i took the whole unit apart. So i need help on that too. It would be awesome if you can help. Thanks in advance!

Price is never an indicator of anything. In the case of Eminent Technologies, they actually pay their engineers, have to provide warranty and maintain safety standards. Consider that there is not a huge market and the price becomes understandable. In any case, a real DIY version like this is really cool. Good job!

Hello. I have a Audi A5 2010 with the 3G nav system. Radio tuner died due to water leak. I got another one but I unfortunately have radio cutout which I know is part of the component protection. I found the chip on the upper board, swapped the whole upper board but sadly still get the same issue. Would I have to physically swap it like you did? I know how too, just not sure if do anything. Either way thanks for the informative video.

Well, mine does the same but doesnt come back on no mater how long i leave it on. Also, I filled the tank with 50% vinegar, but still nop. Got it new, used it once, now its broken. :(

I don't think it will work well. Jus look at the gap between the blades and the hole cut out. Plenty of room for the air to get around the blades, and causing an acoustic short cut
