Top 5 TCGs: An MTG Player's Perspective
Your opinion is weird. Karlov manor was so boring. Nobody cares about limited. But MH3 was cool this year. Hope for Duskmourn
Thank you guys for mentioning how underrated Digimon is. Its a really great game.
Youve covered dead TCGs, you should have added Legends of the Five Rings & Transformers TCG (which still has support til now).
I mean I
U have Camellia!
yugioh is top tier tho
As a pokemon player this is probably the first video like this I've seen where people have seen what I see in pokemon right now. The format is so diverse and every single set changes the meta. It's a ton of fun right now.
i think you hit the nail on the head with saying that magic’s strength is its limited format. draft and cube are easily my favorite ways to play. pauper is a good meta, currently, too. totally agree about MKM actually being very fun and it’s a shame how many players didn’t even give the limited format a go.
Lorcana actually made me care about trading cards again. I am more of a collector though and the cards are beautiful. I dont really play the game but Lorcana is great if you just like collecting. The enchanteds are a bit ridiculous to pull though. I only have alice growing girl and Maleficent. Wish it wasn't so hard to get them
I think yugioh and magic people complain because people actually play the game rather then pokemon mainly being a collective tcg
yugioh on top
honestly i dont see any tcg beating mtg. it's the father of tcgs, and its the most versatile tcg, you can pretty much play ANY TYPE OF DECK, with pretty much any type of creature, the lore is incredibly rich, the arts are absolutely stunning, nice variety of formats and play style, it's almost perfect. it does have its problems, like being too expensive, but overall the concept of the colors, the philosophy, lore, flavour, etc. its just so deep, interesting and amazing in a way ive never seen in any other game
I mostly agree with placements of the games I played, thankyou for putting in the effort to make this video and provide reasoning for where the games ended up. I am curious how would you guys rank grand archive, final fantasy and altered? (maybe it's a bit too early for this last one, and it 100% was at the time of filming the video)
4:30 it is worth mentioning though, that collecting something and investing into something are two different things. Imo the only thing that you should theoretically be able to invest into, are alternative art/limited number/signed card version of regular cards, nothing else.
It seems like Sorcery Contested Realm is some how flying under the radar of every single video or article that ranks TCGs. It came out before Star wars and Lorcana but still isn't mentioned. It was the most funded TCG on Kickstarter too but no one acknowledges it. Please give this game some love and try it out.
Grand Archive doesn't make the list? 😢
Commander is playing Magic wrong. There are better ways of being social... unless you are obsessed with Magic. In which case: get help. Seriously. If you are obsessed with any one thing, get help. It isn't healthy.
where htye at so i can swing at them for this bullsht
Great entertaining watch.
Thanks so much for watching 😁
With the exception of Wizards focusing way too much on commander, all the reasons he states that commander is bad is why I like it. I loved commander when Wizard ignored it, now they are over milking the cow and it's left a sour taste in everyone's mouth.
What do you think about battle spirits?
We haven't played it yet. I've pinched a couple of decks from our shop to learn it, but the system sounds very cool!
@@GatheringGames my favorite part of the game are the little gems I like it only for that
I'm blessed with two board game groups. Out of all of these I'm guilty of being the Mopey Player, I absolutely suffered through Sky Team and then felt bad that my friend had to crash land with me. We're all working on ourselves 😅😂
Flesh and blood is the 1 card game I would never play for the price alone.
Hates rule 0 yet complains everyone is hyper competitive
how did y'all forget flesh and blood 😂😂😂 I don't even play FaB(even tho I probably would given an opportunity. )and I was confused as hell until I saw it was added on later in 😂😂😂 I was a diehard Pokemon & Yu-Gi-Oh player through my teens but sadly had to move on from them in paper (I still play digital Yu-Gi-Oh now an then an try an keep up with the metas) but now I'm kinda a MTG nerd lol even though it's a love hate relationship 😂😂😂
I played yugioh casually years ago when i was starting college but it got way to expensive for me and dropped the whole tcg. But recently (3 months ago) I got introduced to Digimon tcg and god was it so dearly unique to me, never been so exited for a tcg like digimon before and dropping 300$ on pre-release tells you how enjoyable the competitive digimon is getting (expect blue decks) Too bad that it isn't that big, we do held weekly tournaments but its really outshined by One piece. Tho we are slowly see more and more people getting into it so i hope bandai doesn't fuck this one up.
Yugioh is going down the toilet.
Yugioh is the only good one
Android Netrunner isn't a TCG. It's an LCG. It's "underground version (Project Nesei by Null Signal Games) is also an LCG. There were no booster packs. It was non randomised card collection that Fantasy Flight ™ the phrase Living Card Game (LCG). The fan run version is identical rules as Android Netrunner so you can still have that experience
Thoughts on union arena?
“You can build a good deck in one piece for 50 dollars”… no. No you can NOT lol
The upgrades do I put them in the deck as extra so it goes over 40 main cards or do I have to take something out to keep it 40 cards ?
Nice video! If you enjoy commander and UPF, you should really check out Overlord Engine II. It's a fan-made multiplayer PVE system for FaB where you play against a self-piloted boss controled by an app
No duel masters? 😢 huge in Japan but okay
Netrunner is LCG not TCG still probably one of the best game i've played in my life not just card game
Great video guys! Nothing better than playing a board game with an amazing group
👍🏻
😂
🤣 Love this. Spraying Sahd with deoderant was my fav moment to help film and to watch. Great video guys and good advice too.
Star wars. Outstanding. I'm out.
LETS FUCKING GO DIGIMON
Yeah get the normal version of fabled, it cheap? WTF are these idiot talking about. They no nothing about Flesh and Blood.
I’ve recently moved to Pokémon from after playing magic. Pokémon is just way more balanced in my opinion and a better game.
Netrunner player here, Nisei rebranded as NSG. Most Regionals are selling out, we're doing alright :)
Really heartwarming to hear that there's still so much love for the game. Long live netrunner!
I loved playing MTG during 2010-2015 and specially modern during my last few years. I was thinking about giving it another go but heard about Flesh and Blood, asked my LGS about it but they didn't have a scene. I asked one of the local players if they could show me how to play anyways so I could see if it was worth my time as an occasional hobby with the few local players. They said yes they would show me, but they decided to make a learn to play event, the store gave a discount on the blitz decks for that day and tried to get as many people as possible to go. We have had armory events every week since, most of those over 12 players, showed so much support for the game that the other store started hosting armories as well on another day and a new store that was going to have mostly minis and boardgames decided to have FaB as well. I fell in love with it and so did the entire town. I started with Azalea (during Dynasty) and played her all the way until Heavy Hitters when I started playing Kano. I might already change for Oscilio or Verdance, but I'll keep my Kano deck close, it is too much fun. Flesh and Blood is truly an amazing game and I'm happy to see that more people are playing it than ever before and it keeps growing.
Gameplay and skillwise Yu-Gi-Oh is by far the best. But sadly it's not that new player friendly and quite expensive depending on your choice
Yo has anyone heard of the tcg alpha clash? I think it’s got great art and even gameplay. Hope more people check it out It’s also got great lore
Another Note on pokemon tcg is just how cheap the top tier decks are. you can compete at the highest level for 50$ I thibk the most expensive deck right now is 90$. crazy cheap game to get into.
Im really sad Digimon isnt bigger such an intersting system. I live in south africa so our market is mainly the big 3.
Rip fftcg, I actually think it was really good!
