Sound comparison between stock intake and Injen Intake.
I literally just did this… why I’m here
I had nearly the same amount of hose inside. Four kinks total
This same shit just happended to me now on my Audi Q5 2016. I ran the engine a while so it got HOT and twisted and yanked on the plastic tube until it came out. I made sure not to break "tear" the tube, letting the new tube I pulled out cool off then pulled some more, rinse and repeat.
I said EF it and used my channel locks and yanked that thing till it came free
Oh man sorry to hear man this really sux. I have HF version. It stuck and now I figured out how to remove it. I even push tested it all the way to just 5in left of wiggle room lol. It's not that bad before anyone considering dropping the oil pan, do this first. Reference 2010 Camry. My dipstick is located at SE corner. Twist CCW 1/4 turn push forward 1 inch then pull/yank backward. For me it was CCW, if it doesn't work then go CW only at 1/4 turn don't over twist or you'll cause a breakage and now you'll definitely need to drop the pan. And also when pushing forward don't push too far, 1in is about right or you'll make newer kinks. I have a total of 5 kinks and managed to pull out all the way out. It's okay to use extractor, here's the deal I'd avoid if your dip tube is at a slim fit, go for it if it's 3x fatter in diameter, fatter tube will not less lightly to cause it kink. Then you'll need to pay attention when it hits the bottom, take measurement against the actual dipstick itself so you'll know when to stop.
this happened to me yesterday, i was lucky enough to yank it out after 10 minutes. thank god
lol help how did you do it, I got lucky the first time no stuck then yesterday wth it stuck and I can't get it out it keep going further in too lol
nevermind I got it
Laziness turned to more work. Change the oil, the traditional way
Fuck me that is absolutely terrible luck, took it like a champ tho I woulda been in a blinded rage
TOP TIP Make sure you measure the tube against the Dipstick then you know how far to insert it, was told this first time someone used one on my car
i have a '16 sq5. same engine as this -no dispstick. so can't measure against anything. not sure if the poster's a6 has a dipstick either. but the engine comes with the dipstick tube as seen here.
@@errol_m 0:22 is the video i assume that's the dipstick tube, even says in the video description " Oil extractor stuck in dipstick tube! 2013 Audi A6 (C7) 3.0T. " . so are you saying there is a dipstick tube with no dipstick inside? so you have nothing to measure against
@@Scouterlad yeh, it’s a bit funny, these engines come with dipstick tubes, but no dipstick! Not being sarcastic either. Haha. That being said, some of them had dip sticks, others, like mine, only have the tube with a plug on top. I have to check oil level through the MMI screen.
@@errol_m Thanks for the info never knew that, another strange thing car makers do can fully understand now why the above video could happen always the quick jobs turn in to hours/days
@@errol_m I bought a dip stick, comparing the level to the level on the screen, there is quite a discrepancy. I'd strongly suggest you get an actual dipstick
I woulda used a drill and tightened the chuck on the tube directly, rotated slowly while pushing and pulling gently….might have worked. What a nightmare that must have been!
And fwiw mine is still in there but seeing how stuck yors is makes me think it aint going anywhere
Dang-just happened to me! Have you had any issues?
@@duketwins11 none that i am aware of -
also leave it as long as u can - i tried to remove it and it stretched just pull it alitle and cut it and it will not go anywhere
this happened to me to on my 2015 Q5 - wtf!! Same engine i think - plus i still opened the drain plug to drain it - waste of time
nice bro👍,do you use the stock remote?
by gun , yes, still using the stock radio. Planning to upgrade that and the servo soon!
stuffed the injen into the stock air box. How was that installed. Require any additional plumbing or hardware. I want aftermarket cold air and I never really cared for the look of some with the filter just exposed and no alternative for under a 1000$. thank you. If nothing crazy to make this work will do mine the same way
andrew gibson, the injen intake is designed to put the cone filter in nearly the same location as the stock filter. You can either install it with or without the factory air box. I chose to retain the factory box to keep the super charger whine to a minimum and still pull in cooler air via the factory ducting. The only modification required was to the support bracket that came welded to the injen intake tube. It wasn’t even close to lining up to the intended mounting location. I ended up cutting the bracket off. So far, so good. It hasn’t moved and seems like it’ll stay put.
