Yamaha V Star 1100 Bobber Part 4 - Seat, Fender bar, and Final Walk Around
This is Part 4 of a Yamaha V-Star 1100 Bobber Build. I get a bobber seat to finish off the classic bobber look and I clean up some final touches on the bike. This is the final product. A little different than the original vision for this bobber but it ended up clean and running mean! I hope you enjoyed these videos!

Will doing this be good for doing after market pipes?
hi bro mike here in the uk was watchin a video in us and he bought the full kit over $200 and he just used the longer AIR/FUEL MIXTURE SCREWS so i like what you did on yours bro he didnt change the main jets like you did just the air/fuel mixture screws just dont like clamps on rubber on rubber cant get it air tight see what i mean bro great video very good from the uk a big thumbs up ...................
I like this dude he is very informative
heck yeah, thanks much!
pvc pipe diameter?
oowww...umm, Truly unsure as this was a long time ago. two inch per chance.
Anyone that is doing this, make sure you sync your carbs afterwards
correct! tend to bench sync and then vacuum sync once carb is installed! YOU HAVE TO SYNC!
Late post. Do you remember what your original pms screws were turned out at before changing the jets for just the exhaust with baffles done?
I do not. I believe these are set at factory so you may be able to find info on that elsewhere
What year is your bike?
How are the tail lights working out? I’m thinking about mounting them down light that
Pure junk. The carbs are out of tune with the exhaust and air intake, it looks like a junkyard find. Poor quality of build. Well, you had your fun, but the end result it trash.
Orrrrr you can shut up 😂 I think it looks sweet! Good thing it’s not your bike bud. You sound like a hoot to be around! (That was sarcasm) you just sit behind a key board and trash talk on honest man work because you have nothing better to do, beat it.
Judging by the front exhaust, it does not run better. :D You might feel like it but it doesn't.
Again… you will sit behind your keyboard and talk tough like you know shit but really you have no idea. Keep talking trash on honest work if it make you sleep better at night. 🤡 Go play video games in your mid thirties and waste your time somewhere else.
I have a question about this statement . I’ve been working on my carburetor n running and what not and I noticed my front pipe changed colors also. Can you tell me what that means? I’m learning
@@DanielVasquez-ni6blit’s running lean on that cylinder
Just wondering how the bike held up after this mod? And complaints or issues?
Great video! You mentioned the beer from Saint Paul, MN and thats where i live. If youre from the area, we should ride together.
northwest burbs!
Haha no fuckin way, this is exactly what I'm doing on my v star after my slip ons get here. Showed up in my recommended and I was like "is that Sam??"
yes!!! V-Star mods for the win! safe riding, brotha!
I dont see this question here so: is it worth it???? What kind of power increases did you experience?
I have straight pipes on my v star 1100. What size jets should i use and which ones should i change to eliminate the backfire?
Hello, I have a question. I have a gasket on the main jet (12:03 min). It is also an XVS1100, does the gasket belong there? It is also hard to remove the swim box because of this rubber. I have got it like this, but I am just wondering. Thanks for your help Great videos
Does this set up work in the lower states?
Are the pvc 1 1/2 in inner diameter?
no mate in the uk they are 50mm 2inch .............
So did the jetting you did for the diy pods work out or did you have to adjust from the 3 turns on the pms screws? Also did you adjust the bowl to 14mm or just leave it where it was at?
Hey brother I'm doing the same build with my 04. Anyway I can get your email so I can pick your brain
Awesome
Any backfiring after installing these new air filters and jets? Did you bypass the AIS after removing the baffle? Also did you change the pilot jets? Thank you in advance.
No back firing. I did bypass AIS. Pilot jets were stock.
A question do I have to rebuild it can I just put the two air filters on it and ride
This is awesome. You make it look easy dude
His Sam . I’m doing a DIY ,but I’m having trouble getting part # for 147.5 and 145 main jets at partzilla. Can you supply part # pls
Hi Sam, thanks for the video. I’m trying to DIY pod system but I’m trying to find the part # for 147.5 and 145 main jets at partzilla. Can you supply part number pls. Thanks Franco
So i dont need to remove the needles if they are stock. Im guessing you had the dyno ones in?
Dirty dirty🥵
Great video thank you. I’ll be doing the POD DIY after watching this. What do you do with the larger breather type hose coming off the top center of the carbs? Someone told me you need a “catch can” when you do a POD modification. Where would that connect to?
I wondered about that but if you look at the bottom of the big black air box there is a place where this hose just sticks up into there, attached to nothing,
Did you have to adjust the air fuel mixture screw at all?
Yes! Started at three turns out.
Thanks for the tutorial bro. Doing the same set up
Good vid. Did you have to reset the float height?
I did not adjust float height during this tuning . I did however adjust them during a different tuning at some point
Great job bro. Thanks for sharing the links. I already order mine.
Hi, doesn't the tail light vibrate too much when you ride? also, doesn't the exhaust melt that side blinker installed next to it??
the biggest filters I can find so far have a 54mm opening. Can't find a Mike's S&S either. The struggle is real.
It's Mike's XS. Found the pods there for like 23 bucks
Pls Keep making these videos
Will this kit work for a vstar 650?
Hey MrJohnno89, you can get a 650 pod-kit from a Facebook group called "Yamaha V-Star Riders". The group admin (Craig) makes the kits. I just ordered mine and it comes with everything you need (filters, breather, adapter, needle spacers, new hex screws for the carb bowls, a drill bit for the PMS screw plug, etc. ) including instructions for around $100, but my understanding is that you need a modified exhaust for this to be successful.
Appropriate Jets too*
The same things can be done to the 650. I can not say that the parts will be the same.
@@codybowers7308$100 is steep. Genuine Mikuni Jets are $5 each ($10 total). Cheap PODS are $30 for two. K&N PODS cost about $100 for two filters.
sami love you, cool vid, great breakdowns
I think it turned out pretty good, just need to clean up them white walls! they lookin a little yellow.
No doubt them are some dirty white walls! She is actually due for new tires so she will be getting them next season. She has just been brought to a new home where she will be loved by bobber lovin' gal!
How's the bobber coming along? I just picked myself up a yamaha vstar and will be converting it into a bobber aswell..
I have just uploaded my last video! It looks and runs absolutely beautifully! How is yours coming along?
@@samlicari9951 i started with the stock bike with side bags, backrest, windshield etc.. So far iv stripped the badges from the tank, turn up the bars for a more forward riding position, removed the windshield, along with the back rest and saddle bags.. Just ordered my wide whitewall tires as the front tire is bald and gotta get it out of province inspected before I can start modifying it, I'm also gonna be keeping the rear seat for the rest of the season at the most till the snow falls as I gotta take the gf for a ride before cutting off the rear seat, from there have a bunch of mods I'll be doing I'll make some vids as I progress down my first bobber build..
Love me some Sammy and Sweet Tease
