Hi Sam, thanks for the video. I’m trying to DIY pod system but I’m trying to find the part # for 147.5 and 145 main jets at partzilla. Can you supply part number pls. Thanks Franco
Hello, I have a question. I have a gasket on the main jet (12:03 min). It is also an XVS1100, does the gasket belong there? It is also hard to remove the swim box because of this rubber. I have got it like this, but I am just wondering. Thanks for your help Great videos
Great video thank you. I’ll be doing the POD DIY after watching this. What do you do with the larger breather type hose coming off the top center of the carbs? Someone told me you need a “catch can” when you do a POD modification. Where would that connect to?
I wondered about that but if you look at the bottom of the big black air box there is a place where this hose just sticks up into there, attached to nothing,
Hey MrJohnno89, you can get a 650 pod-kit from a Facebook group called "Yamaha V-Star Riders". The group admin (Craig) makes the kits. I just ordered mine and it comes with everything you need (filters, breather, adapter, needle spacers, new hex screws for the carb bowls, a drill bit for the PMS screw plug, etc. ) including instructions for around $100, but my understanding is that you need a modified exhaust for this to be successful.
Any backfiring after installing these new air filters and jets? Did you bypass the AIS after removing the baffle? Also did you change the pilot jets? Thank you in advance.
Again… you will sit behind your keyboard and talk tough like you know shit but really you have no idea. Keep talking trash on honest work if it make you sleep better at night. 🤡 Go play video games in your mid thirties and waste your time somewhere else.
I have a question about this statement . I’ve been working on my carburetor n running and what not and I noticed my front pipe changed colors also. Can you tell me what that means? I’m learning

heck yeah, thanks much!
Great job bro. Thanks for sharing the links. I already order mine.
Thanks for the tutorial bro. Doing the same set up
Great video! You mentioned the beer from Saint Paul, MN and thats where i live. If youre from the area, we should ride together.
northwest burbs!
Will doing this be good for doing after market pipes?
Haha no fuckin way, this is exactly what I'm doing on my v star after my slip ons get here. Showed up in my recommended and I was like "is that Sam??"
yes!!! V-Star mods for the win! safe riding, brotha!
Does this set up work in the lower states?
His Sam . I’m doing a DIY ,but I’m having trouble getting part # for 147.5 and 145 main jets at partzilla. Can you supply part # pls

I have straight pipes on my v star 1100. What size jets should i use and which ones should i change to eliminate the backfire?
Just wondering how the bike held up after this mod? And complaints or issues?
I dont see this question here so: is it worth it???? What kind of power increases did you experience?
A question do I have to rebuild it can I just put the two air filters on it and ride
Anyone that is doing this, make sure you sync your carbs afterwards
correct! tend to bench sync and then vacuum sync once carb is installed! YOU HAVE TO SYNC!
So i dont need to remove the needles if they are stock. Im guessing you had the dyno ones in?
Late post. Do you remember what your original pms screws were turned out at before changing the jets for just the exhaust with baffles done?
I do not. I believe these are set at factory so you may be able to find info on that elsewhere
Pls Keep making these videos
Did you have to adjust the air fuel mixture screw at all?
Yes! Started at three turns out.
the biggest filters I can find so far have a 54mm opening. Can't find a Mike's S&S either. The struggle is real.
It's Mike's XS. Found the pods there for like 23 bucks
Good vid. Did you have to reset the float height?
I did not adjust float height during this tuning . I did however adjust them during a different tuning at some point

pvc pipe diameter?
oowww...umm, Truly unsure as this was a long time ago. two inch per chance.
Will this kit work for a vstar 650?

Appropriate Jets too*
The same things can be done to the 650. I can not say that the parts will be the same.
@@codybowers7308$100 is steep. Genuine Mikuni Jets are $5 each ($10 total). Cheap PODS are $30 for two. K&N PODS cost about $100 for two filters.

No back firing. I did bypass AIS. Pilot jets were stock.
Are the pvc 1 1/2 in inner diameter?
no mate in the uk they are 50mm 2inch .............
Judging by the front exhaust, it does not run better. :D You might feel like it but it doesn't.
