Mildly spicy soup while recovering well, and it made me sick 3 more days. Pain was almost instant, nausea 3 days. I don't like spicy anyhow, didn't realize it was spicy until I had 2 big gulps (I had it cold in a thermos). Now I know, spicy is a no when recovering from diverticulitis.
Definitely not the way!
What makes you think fiber is important to avoid diverticulitis? In a carb-heavy diet it might be. In a paleo or LCHF or carnivore diet it is not.
I think fiber is important in any diet to be honest. That’s the main message
Yes, that's not much of an answer really. I don't think that fibres are the answer. Find something that is not an irritant, doesn't cause gas formation in the bowels, doesn't increase the bulk and doesn't make your blood glucose go through the roof. Find something that the human species ate for a couple of million years.

@@marionrarity5738 stay strong and you will get through it!
I had it for 3 yrs. with 3 attacks. I was always relieved from the pain when I empty. Then I make sure that I eat lots of fiber and not to allow any constipation. And drinking lots of water plus keeping active. If you eat healthy food with lots of fiber, you will minimize or prevent attacks. The attack happens slowly, so the minute you fail some pain, eat lots of fiber and liquid food and make sure to chow the food very well. This will ease the pressure in the colon and take the pain away

Ever since my attack I haven't the desire to eat anything. Me not getting to eat what I like eating. The low fiber will constipate me but after I had severe diarrhea. Study that says nuts snd seeds don’t cause this is wrong. Study is flawed. Studied people without diverticulosis diagnosed. It’s useless.

@@clinicalchronicles disagree on seeds. Understandably sugar intake is something to limit and control, but is it worth pointing out the "added sugar" contents vs the sugar that comes naturally from whole fruit and fruit juice? I enjoy teas and other drinks that'll usually use fruit juice as sweeteners. On top of eating fruit in general.
Now that is very well written and a good point. The artificial stuff is the true killer. And an excess of calories and sugar in general.
