    The nose is actually steeper and more full shape on popsicle boards. The tail is shorter and less steep, more tapered shape.

    I have been buying lots of skateboard wheels over 2 decades. I have 55mm, 60 mm, 65mm and 70mm. Their durometers range from 78A soft to 101A hard. SINCE around 2006 I have been dissatisfied with the roll speeds of most new set of wheels that I purchased. So I started experimenting with mixing 4 different durometer wheels of similar sizes onto one skateboard. The results has been phenomenal and incredible! The increase of rolling speed and length of glide is very obvious! But it usually works with the softer wheels from 78A to 92A. The trick is that you need to rotate the wheels alot until you find the right place for the wheels so that it rolls the fastest. It's like you need to become like a wheel whisperer of sorts. Change a wheel take a short 30 second ride and repeat. This is what they call real world field testing. Always carry a skate tool to change the wheels on the go a carry about 6 to 8 different wheels of all similar mms in a backpack or bag. And give yourself at least 2 hours minimum to find the fastest combination. NO this is not a prank. Not many people believe this works even if they've never tried it before. Maybe that's the hardest part to get this validated. People need persistence patience trust and faith in the process to see it come to fruition. But once you get it I must warn you because it can get highly addictive. How addictive you ask? Well since 2006 till March of 20024 I have been doing this every week and I never get disappointed!! 😊 😊 😊 😊 And I don't think that I will ever stop as long as I can still ride a skateboard! ❤ 😊 😅 😮

    I'm 5'5", 120 lbs, shoe size 6.5. I prefer smaller width boards because the length is shorter. It's harder to do tricks with longer boards. I'm a bit disappointed that skateboard manufacturers don't offer 7.75 in shorter lengths. Some do but I don't like the designs very much.

  • @insanogeddon
    @insanogeddon 8 місяців тому

    The smaller the board you learn things on the more precise and better technique you will have. So if you want a trick on lock long term go small enough it challenges you. Bonus is better turning which is vital on the street unless you're a juvenile ass-egoist. While learning less likely to do the splits or body by getting planted on board while balance off. More likely to stress ankles as foot half off or so far to one side the board angles and stalls. I prefer an ankle sprain to a hammy or body and if you ride enough your ankles will be strong enough to bounce back. 6+ cruising 7.5+ tricks 8.375+ stairs 8.5+ bowls 9+ ramps and now surf skates

      I rode 7.75 for years and gradually sized up to 8.5 as my skating changed. Now I’m hovering around 8.25. But yeah I’m starting to see people size down now. Maybe as pants get bigger again the boards will get smaller lol. But in general I think there will be even more range with board sizes with different varieties of tricks and terrain.

      Honestly not too much difference between those sizes but if you start with a a 8.38 you can decide for your next board if you wanna size up or down to a 8.5 or 8.25. I like to try little changes to see what works best

    6’1, 245 lb body builder / strongman with 10.5 shoe size. Used to ride 7.75 but thinking I need at least an 8’ now. Any suggestions? Skated in the early 2000’s, want to get back in to it. Mini ramp, grinds, slides, basic flip trucks. Are Elements still good? Loved the Fiberlites. Element always had great pop & strength.

    • @SKATEYOGI
      @SKATEYOGI Рік тому

      Check out the Powell Flight deck. It’s carbon fiber reinforced so it’s super strong. For size I would say 8.25 would be good for extra stability maybe even 8.5 but that’s a lot wider than a 7.75 that you were used to. 8.25 is right in the middle so you can size up or down without changing trucks

    Ive had a hard time learning how to tic tac. Before this video i would only move forward a little bit, even though my balance was forward. What helped me get it was understanding the body twist, and noticing its the same as when we walk, in fact, i imagine myself walking when I do it. Before that I would do the twist in the oposite way. Now i only need to learn how to keep the balance and not fall after a few tic tacs :D. (BTW, any tips?)
