My family is from kingstanding/Sutton Coldfield. I went into the Kingstanding Pub once years ago and it was a complete dump filled with unsavory characters. I never went back, went to the Queslett, Parson and Clerk or Deers Leap instead

Some of us remember the old pub

My mum and dad have many memories of the kingstanding pub it's a shame about how history is being erased

I moved away from Kingstanding about 15 years ago. I have very fond memories of the area. I still go back to visit family and friends, but I hardly recognise the place anymore. The unique businesses and shops have all gone, and the family-friendly atmosphere has died, too. Sad times.

Mixed feelings, I had happy memories of growing up here in the 60s n 70s id spend hours shopping there with my late mother, everything movies on I guess, you've definitely captured some local history in the making here mate! Will you film more of the progress of the Lidl building as well? All the best 😊

I remember about 1978 age 6 walking up the ramp next to the pub with my mom and dad and little brother going to kwick save near Christmas time

I thought that old pub that was burnt out was going too, that's why they never rebuilt it

End of an era 😢 needed to go though, hopefully the new Lidl will bring some new Life and be good for kingstanding. Thanks for posting this

This is amazing! Thank you for doing these videos it's been so interesting to see the changes, I was bought up on Southgate Road and remember the shopping shopping centre well, it was lovely in the early days but glad it's going now.

It's a shame what's happened to the precinct.

I wonder how much stock, fittings and furniture is still in the shops

You need one of those cameras on a stick to see over the top.

Used to go to the Odeon on a regular basis in the 1960's.

Subscribed.....Thank you.....I will follow with intrigue....I remember Kingstanding Circle from the early 1960's way before the old pub was demolished and the precinct was built...I have a phoo somewhere of me holding a pint mug outside of the old pub aged 7 taken after my first holy communion at Maryvale church....Born 1955...Junmior & Infants @ Maryvale....Senior school at Cardinal Wiseman...

Used to work there in the 1990s was so busy, a great shopping centre, shame its gone to ruin like many places now
