Hmm...there were no paper or books at the time in 7th c. Arabia. Sounds like Ali agreed to peace in submitting to the council. For those who thought of him as a leader, that should've been sufficient enough to unite. Apparently in house fights are not restricted to any one religion. Sectarian factions give ample support to imperialists with divide and conquer policies.

I am certainly not a fan of Mao Tse Tung, but cannot deny his understanding of human behavior when he said: "religion is the opium of people". Every religion condemn and prohibits the killing of other human beings. More human were killed in the name of religion that all the pestilences and virus indicted infections (dozen of them) COMBINED!!

The prophet himself knew and told that his life was close to the end. If he really chose Ali ra. to replace him and be his successor definitely he would definitely say upfront during his sickness. But why he didn't do it? Why did he let it be without naming who would be the next leader after him during that time? So, it means the prophet never chose Ali ra. He let the ummah decide by themselves because the prophet didn't want the Caliph's job inherited just by his family like the normal King used to inherit son after son for hundreds of years. Actually, this came from the influence of the Persian King's family. After Islam conquered Rome and Persia, some of the King's family of Persia embraced Islam but they did have a grudge inside them toward Islam, especially Umar ra. Their group hates Umar ra. due to their legacy as the King of a big empire fell down by Islam. They feel humiliated. They want to revenge but of course, they don't have the strength to do it by force. They have to revenge and split the ummah by dividing the Muslims. They create this partition of Ahlul Bait and non-Ahlul Bait. It means Ali vs Abu Bakr-Umar-Uthman. In the end, they themselves who murdered Ali ra and also his son Hussein in Karbala. None of the Sunnis were involved in this murder tragedy. Not even Muawiyah and his son. They killed Hussein ra. and then blamed it on Muawiyah's son. Then they created this Shia division from Islam until today. This is what I think. My opinion. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

It is obvious our Prophet Muhammad kept his peers near to him ,for instance who led the prayer when our prophet got sick ??? Abubaker !!! Besides he got the name 'sadik ' which means trustful!!! To be honrst our prophet didn't say anything about his successor because blood tie wasnot the main reason to replace him !!! Everybody knows the root of shi 'a was 'Kewarug' got twisted idea from Abdullah Ibin Sabah ,so called reverted Jew who hid his real intention !!! Somehow Islam doesn't believe in blood tie rather good quality of the person !!! The worst kingship is not allowed in Islam which nowdays Arabs follow as fashion !!! There are so many practices which aren't allowed to practice infltrated by imposters !!! May Allah saves us from UnIslamic practices!!!

The Sunni ideology makes sense. Sometimes your own family doesn’t believe in our new found God. So why should only your descendants should become leaders of a religion that spread through out the world. Even today in 2024 Christianity would have been dead if it wasn’t faith of gentiles.l( a person who is not Jew). Because the Jews even till today, don’t believe Jesus Christ is the messiah. They’re still waiting for their messiah according to the Judaism faith.

It doesn't really matter because Islam is a product of Satan and the Demons and the proof is that the Angel Gabriel would never appear to Mohammed and teach him the lies of an Immortal Soul or Hellfire. And the reason why is that the Angel Gabriel was a Faithful servant of God. Mohammad also says in the Qur'an that if you want to know the Truth go to those who taught the Torah (the Hebrew scriptures) the Psalms and the Injil the Greek Scriptures. And the Lies of Immortal Soul and hellfire are from Satan as the Bible at John 8:44 where Jesus calls Satan (The Father of the Lie)

Ali and all Muslim leaders of the time beheaded enemies in the name of Allah, enslaved women. A belief that many today take as still acceptable. Yes, Christian leaders through history did the same but that belief is not accepted today. That’s the difference. I’m not Christian but they seem to follow a more peaceful God and respond overall to anger with prayer today. Just the simple questioning of a Muslim at a book stall on a street elicits rage and shouts of Islamophobia. Yet a Christian can explain their beliefs with no range and ends with them praying for the listener.

  • @SimonOneill-rm3mm

An event when Mohammed stated whoever accepts him as leader accepts Ali (his son in law) as leader. From then until his death rival Muslims fought for power. On Mohammed’s death Muslims fought battles against each other. Ali was murdered in a mosque for power. Then events such as Battle of Karbala (Shia led by Hussain the son of Ali) fought other Muslims near Kufa. The Shia brought children to the battle front, even lifting a 6 month old up in from of the Shias enemies (fellow Muslims) that baby was killed. So if at the start of Islam Muslims are happy to kill the prophet’s family including taking children to front lines why be surprised at Islamists and many Muslims actions and views now that they will sacrifice children for their cause.
