Halibut fishing Homer Alaska with slow pitch Jigs and Plastics!
Rented a boat from bayes boat Rental and headed offshore to test ourselves in the Alaska saltwater. We were throwing slow pitch jigs and Hookip baits and ended up securing full boat limits of Halibut and added some greenling and other species at the end to top off an amazing day on the water.
Definitely try renting a boat from Bayes Boat rentals it has spots marked and you can find your own pretty easily if you know how to work a fish finder.

this is so cool. i went on a Alaska Royal Princess cruise last year in May, i was kickin myself thinkin i shoulda brought a rod to do exactly what you did. Glad I could experience what i missed through your video.

Honestly, just bigger. And I believe it depends on what area but they’re pretty much the same fish
I think also what side the eyes are on but mostly just size
All halibut are flounders, but all flounders aren’t halibut. Biggest difference is that halibut get astronomically bigger than normal flounder, and their dorsal and anal fins offer more power when swimming. Notice they’re typically much more pronounced than in typical sole and flounder.
