A Snowy Hike at Bear Creek Camp
My wife and I stayed the weekend at Bear Creek Camp in the gorgeous Pocono Mountains and I recorded this video. It was meant to be a short hike through the snow from the main camp to the Sanctuary, but... I got lost.
In my defense, the trail was completely obscure by the snow (they received about a foot of snow a few days earlier) and it was a heavy, wet snow. There were trees down and branches cracked all over, so what would normally be a clear path liked pretty much like the rest of the woods.
The video turned out to be over 35 minutes of me navigating the woods, showing around the maintenence garage (where I inadvertently ended up), then ultimately making it to the Sanctuary and showing it's winter beauty. Hope you enjoy it!

St. John's Lutheran Church of Nazareth is a whole lot more like a family than a church congregation. Today, we celebrated our newest members with a family-centered service and then a celebration with breakfast, games, and lots of fun. Over the past two years of the Covid pandemic, we welcomed 22 new families and baptized 35 people! If you're new to the Nazareth area or looking for a church home...

Absolutely beautiful her voice is mesmerising
Such a shame they knocked down The Christian Admiral.
When I was young my dad took me to DC for two rallies on the mall organized by Dr McIntire. Many from our Church went. Many Hippies were there as well.
one should study the history of this masterpiece musical piece.
The most beautiful song ever written. The end
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Well, the Christian Admiral is alive and well in my 51 yr old head. And what fond memories. I remember the pool and the diving boards, the little trickling waterfall, like it were yesterday. I remember the bowling alley, the chapel, the dining room, and the porches, the lobby, the staircase. And of course the beach. For me, that was between 40 to 45 years ago. May you rest in peace, Admiral. Thank you to the poster for posting this. Thank you so much. Sincerely
Rassurez vous ! Jamais je ne vous oublierai non plus
I remember when I was in 5th grade, I stayed there with my friend and his family. Remember walking into the dining room the first time. It was magnificent large widows, high ceilings. That has stayed in my mind all these years. There was a special room for each state. Stayed in the Connecticut room once. They had a four volume set of books on the history of the state. Many rooms did not have a bathroom. You had to use a community bathroom down the hall.
where winterwood is, there used to be a puppeteer there, and I know the Hollanders helped him out. I can remember meeting Jack Needles on the second floor with my father. then there was the McDowells that owned it.
the chamber office for a while was above the fudge kitchen.
the mall next to the old central pharmacy, used to have national associates, and dr barab's dental office.
Came here right after watching S11 Ep04 Criminal Minds ❤.
I worked at CA 4 summers. Best years in Cape May!
Such an incredibly beautiful voice! Heard it on Criminal Minds. The song Amazing Grace is such a beautiful song and Alaska Reid made it the most beautiful version I've ever heard!! It's like an angel singing it.
I will always remember goieeng under the deck of the hot dog stand at beach and broadway to look for dropped change and digging for clams in the sand.
None of these cars are from the era of 1964, their must be a parade of antique cars although its awsome,to see this i personally would rather see more of the 64 or 60' & 50's cars,at least, thats for real..🤩🤩🤩🤩😘😍😍😍😘😘😂🤣🤣😎😎😎
Agreed. Maybe’54. There are cars from 20’s-50’s.
My heart sinks every time I watch this video! 😢
It's a darn shame, Curtis couldn't restore this magnet hotel, especially knowing it served as a hospital through two world wars. Carl McIntyre (grandfather to Curtis) kept it alive along as he could. He was VERY influential in Cape May and Collingswood N.J. He built a Christian high school in Collingswood, complete with a full-size gym. The building still stands. He built a church and college in Cape May. Dr. McIntyre constantly challenged the Catholic Church and those who belonged, which probably did not work in his favor. He also challenged his own Presbyterian church for being too "liberal" and did not like the direction it was going. He will always be known as a controversial figure for his conservative approach, but those who knew him absolutely admired him.
WRONG! That storm was the Great Atlantic Hurrican Sept 1944. South Cape May had already been wiped out by 1962
You gave a fantastic, in-depth tour of the Mall. Thank you! I absolutely loved my stay on Jackson Street two decades ago at the Virginia Hotel. I went solo and nothing felt so magical as sitting on the deck of the hotel at night as all the lights shined about me. Washington Street Mall was a short walk away. The one thing I'll always remember was a bakery that made fudge/marzipan petite pigs. I brought one home for my mother and she adored it. Sadly, the shop became a catering place years later when I returned. I now reside in Florida but while in NJ, Cape may was my favorite getaway. Again, thank you for such a thorough, informative tour, Ben.
I also searched for this after watching CM. So many songs ive added to my Criminal Minds play list.
Just Say No To Sky People Ben! From one Lutheran to another it's all lies! Oh and the Christian Admiral was made for all the wrong reasons! Building a luxury palace in the name of God is the least glorious thing you could do before God and that is why it failed. It lived and existed as a false idol to Evangelical Christianity!
Did you get these parents’ permission to post their children on the internet? I fucking doubt it!
They need to say goodbye to Victorian Towers and Star of the Sea Charch
I love this song ❤️ and it so beautiful
Thanks for recording and posting this joyous final hymn today!
I will be visiting in about a month on a bus tour. Ocean City and Cape May. Can't wait! 😀
The breakable random preclinically check because booklet independently fit athwart a nappy hoe. purple, alike pine
Nice video. I grew up in Cape May, and am so used to the way it used to look, I don't think the re-do is an improvement. I guess I'm old-fashioned (I'm a year older than the mall itself). I remember the way Christmas looked especially. Garland with lights zig-zagging overhead from one end to the other, multi-colored lights instead of the horrible, sterile plain white, the wreaths on the gas lamps, and one giant tree on each block, decked out with lights and ornaments (trees that - now it can be told - were cut down from Belleplain State Forest - 100% true. I know, because I was there when they were cut down), and after the Cape May Christmas parade (which eventually gave way to West Cape May), that information booth with a dark past held none other than Santa Claus himself - my father, who was also President of the Mall Merchant's Association for 25 years. I sure do miss those days.
Honeymooned in the Kentucky Room. Put the bedding on the floor.
Such a shame...beauty cant last in this world.
Our family had a summer home near the big water tower from 1956 to 1969. I spent my summers there. We would bicycle all over the place. Frankie's Playland was a big attraction on the little boardwalk and the Taylor Ham place across from the Ocean Theatre was a real treat and there was fishing off the pier. I remember how the breezes would shift as the day would come to an end and feel good on my sunburn from the Philadelphia Ave beach. TV reception was interesting as one could watch the NYC stations as well as the Philadelphia and Delaware ones. I used to explore the abandoned Admiral Hotel, visit the concrete ship at Cape May Pt and look for Cape May diamonds. One really felt they were out at sea when staying in Cape May. Such wonderful times.
Watched this episode of Criminal Minds and absolutely fell in Love with her voice so Beautiful ❤️
Niceee!! Crush your competition with Promo>SM!
Beautiful, beautiful the most beautiful song in the world 😇🌈

Beautiful 😍 and inspiring.

Just found you but it's so far the best version of this song in modern times. thank you
Great town tour 👍😃
Absolutely amazing, touches my soul everytime.
Always sad to see a building implode, as I think of all the hopes and dreams lived there.
The voice of Carl McIntire, radio fundamentalist preacher with a radio broadcast called the 20th Century Reformation Hour. The Christian Beacon was the paper printed by McIntire.
Those are the days I remember!
