What Will We Pull? Opening 6 Star Wars Unlimited Packs!
I still remember in 1999 when I opened a pack of Pokemon cards and sifted to the end where a Holographic Charizard stared back at me. Never been so excited in my life. Still have it, untouched by human hands.
Same! I'm big into pokemon too, and I remember I was in Target as a kid in 1999 and I bought six packs and opening them and freaking out that I pulled the Charizard. Mine was sold because I was a college kid who needed money, but I did buy back sets of base through rocket recently. Good times.
Thought it was a star wars condom, would've been even cooler
Prize pack? Thats an weekly organized play booster, those are free to people who join weekly play..
You are right. It was just handed out at the same time as the prize packs. Ill label it correctly in the future. Thank you!
It sucks that card is so expensive.
Yeah such a strange card too. Its either extremely powerful on turn two or its just going to be a resource!
Showcase cards are only in the leader slot at front of the pack
Haha. Shows I've never opened one. Thanks for the info!
May I ask where you play Sw unlimited bra cause I’ve only ever seen weekly play boosters at jix hobbies
❤
Holy shit! A winning pack!
It finally happened!
You missed Palpatine legendary hyperspace
Haha yeah. Later in the video I note that when I say we opened the first legendary it is actually the second. Not the worst pull but I wonder if the double cunning aspects will keep it out of any constructed decks. Thanks for watching!
time to upgrade the list brooo
For sure, looking into it now. A lot has changed with the Boba Fett ban. I do really like Elite P-38 Starfighter.
Great vids. Hope you continue with set 3
Thank you! Yes waiting a little for the set 3 to come to Karabast but will definitely post more. Thanks for the kind words.
Green is good
I agree. Ramping in green is especially powerful. Thanks for watching!
cool cards
Yeah, very unique art style.
If only FFG had some sort of playtesting… or ban a problematic card and stop printing support for him…. Crazy thought
@stawickyrs9233 I'm all for having a best deck and best leader, I just hope they work on some good answers to him. Hopefully we see something in set 3. Thanks for watching.
I can see how this deck could be unfair to play against, but it’s not impossible to not win. I feel like if people critically think when building a deck, they could make one that consistently beats boba. And I’m pretty sure they’re already making cards to specifically deal with boba lol
@@markhughes5622 incorrect. You can probably build something against boba but that will leave you vulnerable to anything else. It should be a rock / paper / scissors dynamic in this game not a Boba Green / Boba yellow,/ rock / paper / scissors dynamic
@Markhughes5622 Yeah I don't think he's unbeatable. My only concern is that there are not a lot of clean answers to him, and my favorite is No Good To Me Dead, is also in Boba Fett colors. It's tough to interact with a free 4/7 on turn 4 let alone turn 3. Thanks for watching!
It’s not fair
I agree. The deck has some lines that are just unbeatable. And being able to flip Boba Fett a turn early is dangerous levels of good. Thanks for watching!
@@RyanPlaysStarWarsUnlimited yep I just started playing the deck recently and I know I misplayed some stuff and STILL WON! You can’t mistakes with certain decks and expect to win.
Deck is disgusting and the fact it hasn’t been addressed has me on the fence of straight quitting the game
@@stawickyrs9233 I feel ya
Definitely don't quit. The game is still a lot of fun and its only set 2. With more sets and cards more options become available.
Dude, you don't know how elated it makes me that you not only read my last comment, not only took the V2 out for a spin, but *clearly* stepped up your game with the deck! Well done! You also made a lot of moves I wouldn't have made in the moment, that ended up probably better than what I would've done! I will say that the first time you played Rey, I think the bottleneck was more your unfamiliarity with the deck, and this time I think you just had some pretty bad draws. Additionally, Rey and Sabine feel really rough at first, but I have grown to be super comfortable against them over time. Still, with those hands even after mulligan, I don't even know if I could've made that game work lol. One more note (aside from the updates I've made in the deck description on SWUDB): Keep Fighting is there not actually for a practical reason--it's because I have a gorgeous Hyperfoil and I like to play it lol. But these days I resource it all the time, so I'm actually going to swap it out I think for 1x of Liberated Slaves or Disarm. Liberated Slaves because it turns out playing Cassian from hand is so good in some MUs that I kinda just want a 4th copy lol. Disarm because a Han Green player unearthed that it's surprisingly incredible against Boba Green.
Actually perhaps the one main thing I would've done differently in the Rey turn would've been not resourcing Cassian, playing from hand and holding on to the RO, which would've let you do a mad good ambush next turn.
Thank you. The deck is a lot of fun and challenging to play. Can't wait to try out version 3. Thanks for watching!
@@RyanPlaysStarWarsUnlimited It might wait until Set 3 and fully digesting a lot of the new potential cards before I publish a V3, but I did add in the description some of the recent tweaks I made (added Qi'ra and a bit of Heroic Resolve, plus some X-Wings in the side board for more go-wide. All inspired by RebelResource's recent Sabine Yellow video). But here's one spoiler: Clear The Field will be an auto-include in this deck lol.
Nice to see another Kylo player. Appreciate your vids!
Good try😊
Haha. We will get there next time.
A link to the deck list would be fire
I believe this was the list. www.swudb.com/deck/view/aWjvacbmacd
Oh hey this is literally the deck I published lmao! Glad you enjoyed! A couple things: 1. I'm sure you began to notice that the lines are actually harder than you would expect! Some major things that could've helped you, for example, were the Pirated Starfighter loop (trigger Ambush first, bounce itself back to hand. And when Fennec is deployed, do this infinitely and it costs 2 each), ambushing Rogue Operative (basically a better Modded Cohort and against that Palp you can do some clever things like take out the Official behind the Royal Guard), ambushing Fleet Lieutenant to take out a sentinel and then pump a unit that was blocked behind that sentinel, etc. So you played it quite well for your first time, but it could've had you won that third game (at least based on how I was tracking the lines). 2. This is quite an older version haha. I recently published a V2 under the same name, you can check it out! (Even that version has been tweaked a tad recently too). The newer version is better suited against a lot of the matchups you played against, but it is especially now better suited against Boba, Kylo, and Sabine. Hope you had a good time with it!
Very cool deck. And some of the lines you mentioned above sound awesome and not something I figured out. Its great to hear about game 3 as it felt like a game that could have been won potentially. I'd love to give this deck another go. I found the list you mentioned (swudb.com/deck/view/VPoBTKaGonlKj) so I'll try it out. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for making this video! I've been eyeing this deck for a few weeks as I'm still pretty new to tcgs and I have most of this deck already. I've had some wins on karabast but I feel like I learned how to play this deck after watching. Cheers!
That is awesome to hear. The ambush ability on Fennec is really powerful. Welcome to TCGs and Star Wars Unlimited. Thanks for watching!
Small note, Karabast doesn't show the full 7 when you TDR. Have to scroll right to see the 7th. Otherwise I do like the Linque version the most so far.
Thank you! I will have to keep that in mind. I have been playing a lot of Triple Dark Raid recently. Thanks for watching!
What's everyone's thought of using Strafing Gunship?
I really love the design of the card, but I'm not sure its exactly what this deck is looking for. I think it needs more power to want to be played in Boba Red. Thanks for watching!
You can't Tarkintown leaders or undamaged units, so neither target was an option when you were mulling it over!
Wow, In that moment I totally forgot that Tarktintown only hits non-leaders. Definitely good to remember. Thanks for watching!
I've been toying with this deck past 2 days and yeah... definately forgot about that couple of times. Also that Force Choke can only target non-vehicles, so its usrless against any space units.
Thanks again for playing with the list! I'm really happy to see other players playing with my deck. In my opinion, it really is the best aggro deck in the game. Just a tip: in the matchup against Boba, ECL could have left a unit standing, because after you hit with your Boba, you untapped two resources and had no more targets to use Surprise Strike. It's always good to try to think of all the lines where you will get the most value possible from the untapped resources.
No problem! I'm liking it more and more every time I play it. Good advice about Boba. At the time I thought it was more important to get the hit in with the Seventh Fleet Defender than to try to play the Surprise Strike that turn, (I was worried about the opponent dealing with the space unit), Surprise Strike made all our units lethal the next turn, but after looking at the video again I think you may be right. They didn't really have a good way to deal with it based on their resources. Thanks again for watching!
"Might" ? 😂
😂
@@rezzytheskyguy you are everywhere
@@juanbonilla1006 i am also inevitable
First game after you saw the Obi-Wan come down, you should have played Fetts FireSpray. Then they attack with Kuill. Then you attack with Boba and he will survive readying 2 resources. Then you can surprise strike in that same turn and beat him. All before Rey attacking.
Wow, great line! Definitely agree. Thanks for the comment. I love that these videos can provide a place where we can all improve together. Thanks for watching.
doesn't work because there was no enemy that left play this phase
It's great to see other players playing my deck! By the way, you played really well with the list. Against Leia it would have been nice to have saved a No Good To Me Dead, but overall I thought you played really well. Glad you liked the deck!
Thank you. That means a lot. The list is very cool. I play a lot of Boba Yellow and Kylo Yellow so it felt like a nice mix of those decks. I definitely need to keep playing it as it felt that some of the lines weren't as intuitive but that will improve with practice. Thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching!
I played your deck last week, so much fun!!!
great deck, but how do you beat qi ra - resupply- Barrage with this deck? the match up feels real bad if they get ramp and they play make an opening.
@@yenneferofvengerberg4936 In some scenarios, yes. If I start with a 3/2 ship, then play Seventh Fleet Defender or TIE Phantom, and and connect Triple Dark Raid in turn 3. I can win in the space. I think Krennic ECL is a more difficult matchup than Qira. The important thing is to connect as much damage as possible before Qira takes you to the late game. The deck has the potential for that. I'm 38W - 14L against Qira in Karabast.
Any thoughts on upgrades from the 3rd set?
Whenever I get on Karabast I get the sweatiest opponents playing the most meta decks. Whenever a UA-camr runs a deck on Karabast, they play against indecisive players making rookie mistakes with starter deck level builds... It's hard to think that's real. You went online for three games with Kylo Yellow and won three games? I'm not knocking you, but it makes it tough to evaluate the decks when everyone just edits out their losses.
When I make a video I sit down and play three games straight. There have been times that I have to play another game but its usually because of the audio or something else getting messed up. I also typically play these decks before where I don't record to practice. I've definitely lost games. There are other videos where I play and have had losses. Theres also another video up where I play this deck against three Boba decks because thats just how the matches fell. Thanks for watching!
For all 3 games he also started with the initiative.
Since you've put the first vid out I've been playing this deck a lot on karabast and finally got the last of the triple dark raids so I can take it to locals, thanks for the content!
That is awesome to hear. I may try to sleeve up the deck and play it at my local tournament this week too.
I just binged the 3 videos you uploaded with this deck and it seems really cool. How does it fair against ither meta aggro decks like Sabine Green or Tarkin Yellow? What about decks that run a lot if sentinel units? Any sideboard suggestions? Great work overall, you just earned another sub
I think that Sabine Green is probably the most consistent aggro deck, but I think Kylo Yellow can beat it. Like I mention in the video they start at 25 and you start at 30 life which is huge. Also if you can play around the Poe off ECL combo you will be in a much better place. You have to be very aggressive because they have larger units than you. Honestly haven't played much against Tarkin Yellow so don't want to speculate there. Thanks for watching! Edit - Just realized I missed some of the questions you asked. I haven't played too much against space units with sentinel, I know they exist, but I don't see them often. Just have to attack through them. Kylo's ability helps here. Obviously the ground units can just be ignored for the most part. I'm thinking about doing a separate video about side boarding.
Great video! What’s are the difficult match ups ?
Thank you! I find the deck can win against all decks depending on its draws. It can also lose if it draws poorly. I had trouble with Bossk Blue and and Han Blue recently though. Too much removal backed up by the life gain out of Bassk and cheap efficient threats from Han. Luke Skywalker is such a beating for this deck.
What program are you playing on?
It's called Karabast. Its free online.
Why didnt you just steal their gunship?
Which game and turn are you referring to? If its game one on Turn 5. If I take their gunship they can take it back. They could attack with Boba Fett and gain two resources back. I felt that the better move was to just attack it so they couldn't attack it into another one of our space units. With enough space units it felt like we could win that game.
I game 1 were there any reason not to resource armed to the teeth on t4? Seemed like the better play and also make kylo bigger.
Yes you are right! At the time I was thinking that I wanted to play both of the cards that turn, but I still could have if we resourced the Armed to the Teeth. Even better if we had to take the mercenary gunship because it would have given one more resource to play the Tie Fighter. Nice catch. Thanks for watching!
Ho! Great games! Where can I find the decklist? In the description I only see # . Thanks!
Sorry about that. I have updated the description, but here is a link to the deck as well swudb.com/deck/view/VlJYfrswoeV
@@RyanPlaysStarWarsUnlimited thanks!!! Have you think about taking out one mercenary gunship and including the third Kylo tie? It can never be stolen!
The list I play in the video was a list from a European tournament where it did well. I plan to make a video soon where we do a deck deep dive of the Kylo Yellow deck. For that video I have made some changes to the deck for what I would play now. The new version plays 3 Mercenary Gunship and 3 Kylo's Tie Silencer.
Is this tabletop simulator?
These games are played on Karabast. I believe you can play on TTS though.
should have attacked the base with greedo for 3, then mercenary for 3, they wont steal it since they know you could steal it back, then smuggle armed attach to spacer and activate kylo buff, spacer attacking for 6, total damage 12, you could have won
I think he would have come up one action short. Opponent had lethal one action quicker without disruption. Should of taken the initiative instead of Kylo Flip to waste the enemy's 4 resources and kept the 4-LOM in hand, then it might of been a different story
Understanding when you think the opponent will take the mercenary gunship is a mini game unto itself. Definitely need to consider it in every game. Thanks for watching!
@@UNR3ALDIVINIX Great discussion here. I find it awesome that we can discuss these plays and work out the best decisions for future games. I agree that flipping the Kylo was probably not the best play considering opponent could have had 4-LOM.
I run a version of this,I use Kylo ground unit instead of the At/St
Yeah. The AT-ST in in there for Triple Dark Raid but honestly its the last vehicle I want to take out of the three. Kylo Ren ground unit could be cool. How has it been for you?
@@RyanPlaysStarWarsUnlimited good so far
decklist link is broken
Apologies. It should be fixed now.
What is the significance of the color?
With this deck, playing yellow allows us to play a more space based strategy. Cunning (yellow) has a lot of very good space units and of course Triple Dark Raid. Thanks for watching!
Wtf the last attack with windu 😮 what a mistake
Yeah, would have been better to attack the fleet lieutenant first. Easy to miss things in longer games. Thanks for watching!
@@RyanPlaysStarWarsUnlimited 👌👌
First game vs Rey you could have just smuggled in Casiano and would have had game before Rey deployed
Great catch! The opponent only had one resource at this time so there was almost nothing they could do if we smuggled in Cassian Andor from our resources and we could have won before Rey could attack. If we did play Cassian opponent would have had to claim initiative instead of deploying Rey. Not sure what they could have done the next turn but I like our chances. Thanks for the comment. Star Wars Unlimited is such a deep game with a lot of choices and I love discussing different plays to keep getting better. Thanks for watching!
@@RyanPlaysStarWarsUnlimitedthe way the turn played out when you passed if instead of passing you play Cassian that’s game. Opponent had nothing they could do to stop the play. Cassian comes in active and would have attacked for 3 damage and opponent in that moment was at 23 damage to base. Passing gave your opponent the opportunity to play rey. You still won but the match should have been won before rey could be deployed which is important since rey deploying sometimes mean they get to stabilize and start turning the match in their favor
@@Nightshade1024 Yes you are right. My mistake. That was definitely the better play.
I liked the deck list. I wanted to comment and like for the algorithm. Which do you think is better right now, sabine green or this?
Appreciate you! I think Sabine Green is better in general. If you are expecting a specific meta I think Kylo can be good though. Sabine just has a really good mid game with the combo of Poe and ECL and of course Wrecker. Ive got a video coming out today where we try out The Darksaber in Sabine where we had three really good games. I also did see a Kylo Yellow list do well in a recent tournament in France so I am planning to try that version out as well. Thanks for watching!
I really liked the combo at 3:15-3:20
Do you mean the combo of Miggs dealing two damage to a unit and Tarkintown being able to finish it off? If so, yeah I really like that too. Its especially strong at keeping your ground units alive so that they can keep on attacking. If you are talking about something else let me know! Thanks for watching.
I’d love to see your take on a ramp green Vader deck. I’m playing one rn that’s trying to heal early with yularen and salacious crumb. Also using 5th brother and 7nth sister to enable force cards like throw and lightning. Only been playing for 2 weeks so I’d love your input
I'm always taking suggestions for new leaders to try out on the channel. Keep an eye out in future videos for Vader Green. Thank you for the suggestion. And thanks for watching!
@@RyanPlaysStarWarsUnlimited looking forward to it!
Thanks for this! Been playing a Boba Yellow a bunch lately and it's nice to see where my thought processes do or don't matchup with yours. Very great play line ideas here
Glad to help! The goal of this channel was always to help everyone improve together. Thanks for watching.
How does migs not take damage when taking out the opponents Sabine @ 3:06?
He didn’t attack. The damage was dealt because of mayfeld ability
Exactly what @Juanbonilla1006 said. I discarded a card to Kylo's ability and gave Migs plus two attack. When I discarded the card, Migs ability triggered, and I could do two damage to a target. Thanks for the question! Hope you enjoyed the video.
YEEEEEEEEEEEAH KYLO TIME do you think this deck is playable on big tournament ?
I don't think I would play it in a larger tournament. You can get some free wins with it but overall it felt a little too inconsistent sometimes. I would probably say to pick Sabine Green if your looking for an aggro deck to take to a bigger tournament. I think Kylo Ren can take down a smaller tournament though and its definitely a fun deck to play!
