Predator was definitely way more “tight”, and original, mixing an 80’s action movie with sci-fi. And there’s no doubt the Predator creature itself is far superior to the Xenomorph and much more interesting. Aliens is just more epic and grand in scope. It’s one of my all time favorite films (as is the whole original trilogy), so I don’t agree on the build up(s) being too long or boring. Especially in Aliens where the build up is genuinely tense and filled with all kinds of “the best of James Cameron” ingenuity. But, nice to see someone giving the original Predator the credit it’s due. I still get chills every time I watch it.

The action in No Way Home is more believable, for me, because it's being done by folks with super powers. The Batman expects me to believe that a dude in that suit can beat up a group of people and not be breathing hard or on drugs afterwards. Half the movie should be of him doing cardio and training. That being said, I do enjoy movies like that too 😂

I like the new special effects…like how the Fob who is 4 or 5 inches taller than either of you looks to have the height of a Hobbit.

I do agree that Rogue's VA does sound older than when she did it originally but she gave some of the best performances this season, especially in episode 5 and 7... when she cried into Nightcrawler's arms. Also you didn't actually talk about episode 7... your episode 7 review was actually episode 8.

Xavier didn't die at the end of the original series, Lilandra took him away to give him the medical care he needed. That's why the xmen weren't surprised to see him alive, though they had accepted that they might not see him again

Well, this was better than Cody's movie brawl, even if i disagreed with a couple things 👍

My thoughts on the choreography of the fights in Highlander, each character is from different eras and locations, resulting in them all having different fighting styles. Conan, each move is a killing blow. Highlander it's more constantly adapting each of their styles to attack and defend from the others. This was shown more in the series, where Duncan was very much a Japanese style, and he fought others ranging from fencing to broadsword attacks

Both good, but that opening of Conan with that wonderful music and the riddle of steel gets it over the line imo. Pure awesome

I love both movies Predator Dutch and his group of soldiers being hunted down by an unknown Alien hunter in the jungle from another world with invisibility and weapons never seen before with all their firepower almost got destroyed and Aliens with Ripley and the colonial marines fought with their lives thinking that their weapons would stop them but almost got wiped out except Ripely who had such a strong bond with newt as her new mother and proved to be the smartest and toughest of all the Marines from her first encounter with the Alien

I think that the main thing that was giving you guys issues with the scores was that you were trying to shoehorn 2 horror movies into an action debate. In Alien, they spend almost the entire movie running in fear. And Predator is a sci fi slasher fillm. Even Billy is scared. If the pacing didn't give it away, that one line seals it. Still a fun debate to watch though. And the fact that you recognize Predator and The Terminator as the best Slasher movies, is absolutely fantastic.

That was a tough first round matchup. As for the tournament, I think the Sub-genre bracket would be more interesting.

Worthy to mention that every other Flashpoint iteration DOES have a more satisfying/conclusive ending including either interesting changes that greatly impact the world, or character moments that tie the story together for more of the characters.

I really hope this is not the only classic clash you guys do & this should definitely be an episodic series. I was 4-5 years old when I watched "The Terminator" for the 1st time and 30 years later the profound impact it has and the emotional connection I have when watching it hasn't diminished the slightest, but in fact grown stronger and stronger each time I watch it. Robocop is also a timeless classic that gives me similar feelings and nostalgia each time I watch it, but The Terminator holds a very special place in my heart and is a legendary masterpiece that is truly an Iconic film.
