Thank you so much for sharing these valuable tips and info about children, as a pediatric dentist trying understand more and know more about kids , how to treat them without getting them traumatized , help them to feel really safe during the procedure, looking forward hearing back from your end whether via sharing videos and shorts here on your channel or even a book i can easily download and read , thank you so much again
So I understand the importance of allowing the child to feel and sit with their feelings, but with the example you gave, would you then say “I see you are sad that I gave you purple cup when you wanted the blue” and then give them the blue cup because it really doesn’t matter or do you try to teach them a life lesson by saying “I see your sad about that and that’s okay but you still get drink out of the cup that I chose.”?
I would say give them the cup they want. Toddlers often throw tantrums when they feel out of control of their lives, but what they can control is throwing a fit. Giving them the ability to make choices and pick what they want can give them more control and help them build up less tension. So I'd give them the cup or whatever it is, if it's doable. Like if they want to have something they can't have, it's about safety, or it's just not possible - obviously you don't need to do it. But if it's something insignificant and easy to do, I would say do it. Just a thought, but you can find your own path! 💜 I like giving my little girl as many little choices as I can throughout the day, whenever possible. And I really think it helps. But like I said, what works for us might not work for you so you'll find what's best for your family! 💜
Amazing video, thank you a lot. I do my best to do it exactly the same way, sometimes my own patience comes in the way or when he let's out his emotion on a staircase or something like that.
I come back to this every once in a while and it great advise. Thank you.
Wonderful thought...think this will work with adults too.

So glad I found your channel 👍
Thank you so much! I have been searching, for years, for information as valuable as this, ever since I learned of "emotional intelligence", after becoming a parent. I literally have had no idea what being empathetic looks or feels like. All I know is I want to be this person for my girls and others. With no previous experience at all, it felt very frustrating never having an example to go off of. Thank you so much for your videos. I have felt so stuck. This is so unbelievably helpful. I have soooooo much appreciation for you. ❤❤
